I am writing this review because after reading some of the reviews on the doctor and his office it only makes sense. I went to Dr Ortega at Spectrum Aesthetics. I scheduled my surgery in July for December 5 I live in New York so I flew down very excited. No type of fear or anything. I've had this stomach for so long and have been so unhappy with it for such a long time that no one or anything was stopping me. I've paid multiple times for this surgery at different locations and never went through with it. After m 3rd child I am certain that I am not having anymore so now is the perfect time to do me! I got here Thursday evening and had to be seen in the office Friday anytime between 9-6. I got there around 12pm. Not going to lie, I felt some type of way because of the people I saw coming in but because I read so many good reviews I wasn't allowing that to stop me. I paid, got my prescriptions to fill and was given my time to come back Sat morning; 6a.m. Still excited!!! Sat morning came my mom and one of my best friends were in front of the building at 5:45 a.m. but no one was there. The staff came at exactly 6 on the dot. We went in and immediately I was given a urine test to do a pregnancy test. Once I gave that in I was brought to the back to change and answer questions, they allowed my mom and friend to come as well. The doctor showed up at 6:45. He came right in and asked me questions, joked with me asked over and over "any other questions". Dr Ortega was very nice, informative and answered everything. I never felt rushed or like he was uninterested. I was surprised because according to some of the reviews they state otherwise. Honestly since day one the staff has been very nice. After Dr Ortega left the Anesthesiologist came in and again very nice, attentive. He explained everything to me then told me I had a couple minutes with my fam. Once the room was fully prepared I said goodbye to everyone then went into the room. The Anesthesiologist spoke to me about everything he was doing once in the room. Within 2 minutes I was out! I woke up shaking from the anesthesia and crying "pain, pain, pain". That's all I said the whole way home. I would be a liar if I didn't say I was in excruciating pain. I wanted to pop the pain pills every hour. The bottle said every 4 hrs but I swear you should take it every 3 because it starts wearing off before that 4th hour.
I'm now on day 2 and the pain is still sick!!!! Where the drains are really really hurt. My back hurts from walking hunched over, I'm on the sofa mainly and then on the bed propped up in the night. My drains when I first got home were really full but after that there is lil to nothing there. I feel really tight, I really just want to sleep but r Ortega wants me to walk around. I have an appointment tomorrow at 7:30. I'm praying that the pain will start getting better soon. I'm also getting very nauseous but when I take the pills it does get a lil better.
I'll post some pics soon.

2 days post
2nd day Post-op appt
Went to see Dr Ortega today and the wait was crazy but I'm guessing it was because I had a 7:30 appt and was late. I got to the office at 9:45. Took about 10-15 mins to be called in but the wait for Dr Ortega to get to me was a lengthy one. Then again there were a lot of people in the office. When he came in he checked my stomach, drains and told me I looked great. Gave me the OK to bathe/ shower and gave me a follow up for Friday. Still very swore and kind of in pain but omg I LOVE my results so still no regrets!

How long did you have the drains in?

Hey I did the surgery on Saturday 12/5. My drains are still in. I'm actually calling the office tomorrow because my left drains are spilling yellow fluid and the right blood. Sorry TMI

That's what there suppose to do! It's great that your draining! Getting all of the bad fluid out! The more you drain the flatter you'll be! My drains where in for almost two weeks and I noticed I was flatter than girls that only had them in for a week! DRAINS ARE GOOD! Good Luck!

Ok thanks Rochele75978 for the info. I swear I started seeing some crazy things about the drains and it literally is messing with my sleep. You just put my mind at ease, thanks.

When I showered I would put a thong on and safety pin drains to the thong made showering a little easier! Are you walking around a lot?

Honestly I am but I know I could and should do a lot more. My back hurts like hell when I do and I feel like an obese patient because I'm out of breath and just start feeling out of it on a whole.

Congrats on your tummy tuck. You will start to feel better soon. Just make sure to take your pain medication around the clock and walk, walk, walk.
For your back pain, get a heating pad, that will help tremendously. You are going to love the new you. Each day gets better and better! I am almost 8 months post op and love, love, love my results!
Happy healings sweetie :)

Do you mean into the drains? The blood does turn a lighter color when it starts to ease up.
