Worth every penny. You get what you paid for. This man is a gift from God. Let me just start by saying this, Dr Gallerani & his wonderful staff have made this difficult situation so easy to go through. Maryann is so caring and sweet & always available. At this point they feel like family. I have visited many many doctors before choosing Dr Gallerani for this procedure. I choose him because he is the MOST knowledable Doctor when it comes to this difficult procedure. This is a life risky procedure I wanted to make sure I was in the right hands. Dr Gallerani pretty much summed up my situation and why it was affected before I can explain to him what happened. And I have to tell you I feel set free from this poison that was in my body. No longer have those horrible aches and pains that where being caused by the silicone. Going forward if I need ANY work done I will be going to Dr Gallerani. He's a perfectionist and an honest man. His staff is fantastic. You can't ask for more.

Thank you for your comment, I'm going trough the same situation, just wondering how long the recovery takes and how bad it looks with the scaring after surgery overall, I made my consultation appt already with Dr Gallerani, any details or advices are greatly appreciated, thanks for sharing!

It is my decision that at this moment I am not ready to put pics up until second surgery. I may change my mind once the drains are out. It really does not look that bad as I imagined it would. I actually asked him to not cut in between but where the bikini line is because I wanted as much of that poison out and I also wanted to make my but smaller so there was less to fill in.

Hi Anna, it was beautiful of you to share about something that it's affecting many others, my story is almost exact than yours, working in the same field and trusting people that new the possible consequences and omitted them, and me not doing enough research about it.. My major concern is the financial fact, if I cant afford a surgery that can become life threatening. Any suggestions will always be greatly appreciate it!!! Thank you again for your reply, I hope to heard the good news from you soon, God bless.
October 6, 2015
I know it's a big dive financially. It was also for me. I put it on a credit card that offers 0% financing and then paid it off. I plan to do the same with the second surgery. I rather be in a little extra debt and be healthy than this position killing me softly. I know it's a big decision. Luckily Dr G has not had any cases where it became life threatening. He is truly amazing.
October 7, 2015
Thank you Anna, i can't wait to my appt with Dr G in two weeks, please keep me posted, it is really good to know there is hope, thank you thank you!
October 8, 2015
I put up pics. Just remember every case is different.
October 8, 2015
Let me know what happens with your appointment. FYI he usually cuts in between the buttocks so you do not have any scaring. Good luck. You will love that office. Everyone is so nice and caring. And I know it may be on the higher end of $ but it's only because he does it the right way. I don't know about you but I want to live for a long time for God, myself, my child and my family. Dr G was God sent.
October 8, 2015

THANKYOU SOOOOOO MUCH FOR POSTING YOUR SITUATION!!!! I've been looking for some time for a doctor to remove this. It is Definately the worse thing I could have ever done as you already know. Like others I feel like I'm dying buttocks is in pain. My legs and arms get numb. Before I heard of the side effects I was going to my regular pcp and they just couldn't tell me what was going on. It started on my right maiden and started to move to the left side recently. I've made my consultation with dr. G for next month! I am praying all goes well. I'm so scared. But thanks again. Your a life saver. I wish I could tell other girls but you know how that goes you can't tell them nothing until the problem starts.
November 4, 2015
Oh I know I know people that won't even talk to me cause I tried to worn them not to wait till problems start. But everyone has to learn on there own I guess. All we can do is warn people not to do it. Its a nightmare.. Like your here but ur not.. Anxiety gets the best of us when we feel like were dieing. I hope everyone who is in pian gets help. We made a mistake.
November 4, 2015
I wish we can start a movement so young women won't make these same mistakes. We don't need vanity we are as beautiful as we are and if we can't do it the legal way well then we shouldn't do it the illegal way because that's commuting a crime. A crime that affects our bodies. Luckily there are doctors out there willing to risk themselves to help women like us.
November 4, 2015
Good luck. I wish you lots of luck. Just remember to prepare yourself mentally because this is a two stage process. It's not easy but it's as difficult as you make it
November 4, 2015
You are so right now I suffer from anxiety panic attacks and blood pressure due to all this stress I carry daily
November 5, 2015
Omg!!!!! Me too... But the pain in my butt is horrible. No discolor just pain. And it's Definately spread since I've gotten it done. And I've already but the bullet. I don't think I can be any more prepared than I am right now. I just can't wait to do my consultation and move forward from there. I just seen a interview were singer k Michele was talking about gettin her enhancements removed ofcourse she's not going to keep it real and say she got shots but deep down inside she's obviously going thru what we are and can take it because eventually you have to get it removed.
October 5, 2015
Hi how long was your surgery for I am in Miami and thinking of going to him I've had it since 2007 I need this out I feel like I am dying slowly with all this depression I have .
October 5, 2015
3-1/2 hours it lasted. Have to tell you it's not as bad as I imagined. And Dr Galleranis office is amazing. I've had to call MaryAnn after hours on numerous occasions and she's always there to pick up the phone and be there. They are just amazing. I can't wait to go for my second surgery
October 6, 2015
Great why a second surgery did he remove a lot , when did you do surgery with him , does he do it in a hospital ? Do you mind sharing pictures with me .
October 6, 2015
So he does the surgery in two steps which is the right way to do to avoid any life threatening chances of infection. So first is removal of the material. 4-6 months time to heal that area and then lipo to fill in the area space where the foreign material has been removed. Yes he does do this procedure in a hospital setting. This procedure should only be done in a hospital setting because once the foreign material is removed it changes the dynamics of your body function so you need to be monitored for 24 hours.

October 10, 2015
How long ago did you do the surgery
October 31, 2015
Hi I just wanted to share with you I went to him I feel more comfortable a little bit now with what he explained I am just worried I have it all over top bottom and vaginal wall . I wanted to ask did you have blood pressure problems before the surgery ? I recently went to my doc and I was diagnosed with hypertension something new to me so I told dr.g and he said he has had patients like that and when the surgery is done it goes back to normal .
October 31, 2015
I did not have that problem but I did meet a woman who had that and other problems, she was practically dying and after her surgery she is back to normal and feels great. She was 65.

Marisol what go you mean you have silicone in vaginal wall? It migrated to your front? Did dr. Say that was dangerous?
If you don't mind me asking how many bottles did you inject?
I also have the same problem and thinking about going to Dr. Gallerani. I live in Texas. I will pray for you and all the women who are going through this difficult situation, God bless!
October 31, 2015

October 8, 2015
Hi Anna, Thank you for posting, So far looks really good, and I'm pretty sure you feel so much better too...I can't wait, I'm on pain continually for over a month, no meds help anymore, I was wondering how long the recovery is, I'm a single mom and have to go to work asap...
October 8, 2015
I had to stay in Florida for two weeks before I could sit. After that you are good to do your regular activities. Depending on how much space there is after the removal of foreign material (the space s what depends on how long the drains will have to stay in). You want them in as much as possible so all the liquid is drained while it heals. So a lot of people have had complications because the procedure is done incorrect and has caused to death. When the foreign material is removed your body automatically attempts to fill in that space with liquid, that liquid cannot stay in there because it will cause a severe infection and cause life threatening events. So the drains are in to drain all that liquid until you reach minimum 5cc. At first the drains were annoying but at this point have become a part of me. No one has noticed anything on me because I have been using garment with butt pads lol. So I have learned to make them apart of my body. Honestly I'm not in a rush to get them removed until I know the liquid is at its minimum or below to heal right so that when the fat transfer is done there aren't any issues. You can go to work after 2 weeks. I'm a single mom also I totally get it.
October 8, 2015
after the fat transfer I know my butt will look ten times better than with that silicone.

Silicone Removal

annad1
I decided to have silicone injections back in 2001. The worst mistake of my life. Well three years I fell on my buttocks area and it must've made the silicone react because I started to feel horrible pain everywhere it gradually got worse. Once I realized it was the silicone my search begun to find the right surgeon. When I came across Dr Gallerani he just was so much more knowledgable than the other surgeons I saw. He asked me if I had fallen and literally told me my painful experience without me articulating it to him. I made the decision to remove it because I wanted my life back and so I flew to Miami and had the procedure done. The surgery lasted 3-1/2 hours. The Hospital setting was meticulous and felt like I was staying at the ritz. Dr Gallerani is such a great doctor that he even came to visit me when I ended up going back to the hospital for Dehydration and medicine reaction due to my own personal fault. He did not have to come visit me. It had nothing to do with the surgery. Dr G and everyone at his office genuinely care about their patients. At every visit I see more than 3-4 cases of woman who have done the same mistake I have and are so happy they found Dr G as I am. He is amazing. I will post pictures as soon as I get my drains out and a follow up with the second surgery to fill in the space. The most difficult part about doing this surgery is the process. But it is worth it because it is the only way that is the right way to do it.

How does he perform this procedure, did he have to cut open or was it laser?
Please update on recovery. I'm really interested. Good luck
December 3, 2015
He opens you and takes the material out. Do not do laser. It is dangerous

Dr G also pulled my flanks down to the empty area so that it wasn't so empty and the tissue kept the skin alive while it's healing. I'm almost complete with the drains and hoping to have these babies removed in 2-3 weeks.
October 16, 2015
Did you go home with the drains? Or are you still in Miami?
October 16, 2015
Also how long did you stay in the hospital after surgery?
October 17, 2015
I stood in Miami for two weeks. He removed my stitches and I went home with the drains. I still have them because I want to make sure it has drained enough. Because he scraped the silicone off the muscle the muscle has to heal also including that empty space he cut the silicone out of. So it's taking a while to finish draining. I am pretty much done but I'm waiting just to be sure. In planning to go first week of November to get them removed.
October 17, 2015
I wonder how long I'll have drains for
October 17, 2015
It all depends on the space and if it's in the muscle. It's a pain but I've learned to deal with it
October 10, 2015
Your butt looks good.
October 16, 2015
You look great!!! Wish I could get a result like that!! Can't imagine after the second procedure. I had silicone injected in 2007 and I am hoping one day get it fixed. I wanted to know for how long do you have to have the drains? and how much time has to pass to be able to proceed with the second surgery?
October 16, 2015
The drainage really depends on how much has to be cut out. He had to clean up my muscle. So some people have drains for 2 weeks while others may have it for 4 months. You need minim 4-6 months before the second procedure. I'm using shorts by lovemybubbles with butt pads so no one around me can tell the difference. Lol
October 26, 2015
I just ordered it. Did you order the silicone for a more realistic feel?. I thought I would try the regular one and take it from there.
October 18, 2015
Hi Anna, when did you went for surgery? How long since you are carrying the drains?
October 19, 2015
I went August 14. I still have my drains. One is finished the other got clogged a couple of times so it's taking a little longer. You have to remember your drains depend on how much is removed and where it is. Some girls take two weeks while others may take four months. Either way it is important to have drains
October 19, 2015
Good to know, thank you!!!
October 20, 2015
My surgery is next week starting to freak a little. How long till he cleared you to go home? I planned in staying in Miami only a week cause I live 3 he's away.
October 27, 2015
You should be ok. You will just have to come back to remove your stitches. And for the check ups. Good luck and remember this is two stage process. The most important thing for me was removing it and yes I am a bit deformed but the second surgery is reconstruction and I'm excited for it. Good luck. Btw I was there Friday and there were three other people in the office he worked o. The same situation. I actually spoke to a girl that was finished and she was so happy with her results. There was another woman who was really sick almost dying and she swears he saved her life. He truly is awesome
October 27, 2015
So glad to hear that. I have two little girls that need there mama. Its what makes going into surgery this much scarier. But I know I'm in good hands and this is the only way to undo this. Thanks for all ur support ! I'll keep you posted
