My entire experience with Dr. Epstein's office...

WORTH IT
My entire experience with Dr. Epstein's office from the initial contact to the hair washing the day after the procedure was excellent. I traveled from the other side of the country because I knew he is the best in hair transplantation. I had about a 1200 FUE facial hair transplant. The contact with the staff to have the consult and then schedule the procedure was quick yet through. When I arrived at the office I was quickly greeted and recognized by the staff. Although I came in with a bit of nervousness, within a few minutes I met Dr. Epstein and I was instantly comforted. He made me feel as if I was the only person he was seeing that day. He answered all of my questions and laid out the next day's procedure from start to finish. The day of the procedure I was quickly taken back to begin. The entire procedure took about seven hours. I was awake the entire time and the staff made sure I knew what was going on. The facial hair transplant was completely painless and I had no discomfort. I know that probably sounds outlandish, but I was never in one second of pain. All of my instructions for that evening and the next few weeks was laid out clearly. I was walked to the car picking me up by a member of the staff, which I thought was above and beyond. Dr. Epstein is the leader in hair transplants, especially facial hair transplants. I trusted him to rework my face and I could not be more satisfied. When it is time for me to have my head hair transplant you better believe I will be coming back to see him. If you are considering a facial hair transplant or any other hair transplant I highly recommend Dr. Epstein and the Foundation for Hair Restoration.

Update

I recently passed two months since my facial hair transplant. I have also posted two photos, one from two months before the procedure, and the other right after. My right side has always been the weaker/thinner of the two. The transplanted hairs stuck around for quite longer than I expected, especially on the left side. Still too early to see if any transplanted hairs are emerging. Dr. Epstein told me I can expect some emerging hairs as early as three months, which is fast approaching. These last 2 months have flown by, and I really have no complaints. I am incredibly antsy for the hairs to show up.

How much did the 1200 FUE cost you? Did you have much redness? I'm considering making the journey out to see Dr. Epstein as well.

Around 8k. For me (not sure of current offers) they had a no interest financing option. When so got the quote I spent maybe five seconds considering the procedure. It was something I wanted and fortunate enough to afford. Dr. Epstein is an incredible man and doctor.

I don't remember any redness. Three months later and I still don't have any.

Six Months

Just a few days from six months post-transplant. The growth really has exploded, and I should expect to at least double what I see now in the end.
What makes me different than most guys who have a facial hair transplant, is that I never shaved nor trimmed after the procedure. I've let it grow.
A few things to note:
-My beard was already wavy. My head hair is not at all wavy. As my beard is growing out, it's definitely still wavy all over.
-People who know that I had this done, notice. They love the improved look.
-I'm still anxious most days about the future. I mention this because anyone who does this needs to know about the emotional side. It's not easy, especially since results can be fully expected at 10 months to a year.
-My advice: If you have a transplant, do what you can to avoid comparing yourself with anyone else. It's your beard, your body, and your story. Own it.
-While I'm limey just about in the thick of things, I am so excited about the next several months. Based on the progress so far, there is much more ahead. Or so I hope.
Please, send me a message, write a question here, send me a comment, whatever. I'm open to answering any (appropriate) question.

Hi, I was wondering if you used anything to.help stimulate growth after the procedure like vitamin e, black castor oil, ect

No, I did not use anything. The doctor did suggest minoxidil as I was leaving, but I didn’t want to add it to my routine without further investigation.

Congratulations! Sounds like the ideal experience. :) With a beard transplant, is the timeline to see results the same as on the scalp? How long ago was your procedure?
