I am just about 11 months post procedure. These photos are a bit too close for my liking, but they give you an idea where I am at this point. When you compare these photos with the previous ones, there is no question that my procedure was successful.
I had a minor trim about two weeks ago. As I noted before, I did not trim after the procedure. I would recommend that others shave or trim after you are cleared to do so. Otherwise, you may end up with a messy-looking beard like I did. It actually looked great this morning, but my afternoon I looked disheveled a bit because my fingers are constantly messing with it.
I am considering going back eventually for a few hundred more grafts. In my photos, it looks like there are a couple main areas (one on each side) near the middle of the checkline where the beard is less dense. It is, but it is all distorted by the waves and denser beard along my jawline. Before I did not have complete cheeklines. Today, I do. If I were to go back, I would want more focus on these areas, as well as any others that may need some touchup.
My satisfaction with the procedure grows all the time. I have zero regrets. I will randomly think about Dr. Epstein and his staff. They gave me a great gift. I will never be a beard model, but I am so happy, which is most important to me.
One more thing: The YouTube video of my procedure has resulted in overall positive comments. Recently, someone commented that I would regret spending the money once the "beard fad" was over. It has never been about a fad for me. This is something I have wanted for as long as I can remember. I regret nothing.
Alright, next month is one year. Stay tuned.
