Hi All at real self.

I thought that I would open a diary/blog to tell you my experience with this forthcoming journey that will involve lifting my eyebrows by Dr Epstein, using a technique known as Trichophyllic forehead brow lift.
I shall be describing everything as it happens step by step till the operation date on October the 12th 2017, including follow up afterwards.
This narrative shall include some pre op and post op photos in due course.

I hope many of you who are considering having a brow lift and/or forehead hairline lowering will follow and participate with me with your comments in this journey. Hopefully this blog should help people who are considering a similar operation.

I shall start with some preliminary information in the next posting of how I chose my surgeon and a how I hope I have avoided falling into the wrong hands. Comments of all kinds are welcome. Thanks.

Choosing your surgeon

JosephAnthony
Hello again, I thought I would share with you how I went about choosing my surgeon. I have read some horrific stories here at Realself of how unsuspecting patients ended up with the wrong doctor. The main thing is not to go by appearances or by how impressive their CV appears to be. All of those things can never give a surgeon good manual dexterity or a sense of artistry with their aesthetic work. Looking good on paper is not the same thing as having satisfied patients. Although review are important they can be deceptive or even fake.

The first thing I did was to draw a list of surgeons who have actually done formal fellowship training in facial surgery for at least a year at a recognized institution. That would be an additional training on top of having completed a 3 yeara residency training program in either plastic surgery, ENT, Ophthalmology oculoplastic surgery, or maxilofacial surgery.

Disregard general plastic surgeons who do liposuction, breast surgery, hand surgery and others jacks of all trades if one is looking to have facial surgery. Choose someone who only does facial surgery and nothing else to ensure the most experienced surgeon for you. This is crucial if one is looking for someone to do revision surgery. If for example you are have a nose revision then choose an ENT surgeon who is doubly accredited in facial plastic surgery. If you are having eyelid revision surgery then I would go to an oculoplastic surgeon ideally with a facial plastic surgery felloship and so on.
Will continue...

That's for your blog I am also looking to get this done myself it's been hard finding a doctor

I hope you find your doctor Marlanda. but please look for someone who only does facial surgery and nothing else and who has completed an approved fellowship in facial surgery. Then read the reviews. Go and see the top two and once there ask to see photos of before and after of forehead lifts the doctor has done. If they cannot let you see the photos at their offices that only means they are not doing enough cases of that procedure. Whomever is left at the end of that filtering process should be your surgeon. It is all about diminishing the risks of something going wrong by choosing the right surgeon for you. Best of luck with your search.

I have been searching on the I internet for a while I've had two consultations so far. Doctor Jeffrey epsilon seems like a good doctor I'm from Texas so I would have to fly out there if I went with him. I've also read about Kabaker. I'm really scared to permanently losing my hair after this procedure

I am flying from UK so from Texas would be nothing to me.

Also some doctors have nothing but good reviews it's hard to tell which reviews are real sometimes

Only trust positive reviews if supported by photos of before and after. On the other hand negative reviews even without photos should not be taken lightly.
But at the end of the day you should see before and after photos on the same procedure you want doing when you visit your surgeon as some of them are not allowed to publish on the web. If they make excuses once you are there not to show you them the photos then walk away.

3 months to go before my operation with Doctor Epstein. Browlift and forehead reduction procedure.

JosephAnthony
First of all may thanks for all the PMs of support I have received from the followers of this blog. I thought I would thank you all of you here as it would be easier doing so.

I just wanted to clarify to you about how exactly Doctor Epstein will lift my eyebrows.

He is goint to do an incicion just behind the forehead hairline. The air will grow eventually and hide the scar. Then he is going to disect back the scalp and pull it forward for about 2 inches as I have a high forehead and a bit of receding hairline so it would help with making me look less bald I suppose. Then Doctor Epstein will disect off my forehead skin and weaken the frown muscles and he will pull up the skin together with the eyebrows and fix them to the new higher position.

Hi, I had the same procedure in 2015. Yes, my forehead is smaller then it used to be and I am much happier now. I dont know if you were informed or not about the shock hair loss you could experience. Some of it can grow back and for others it has gotten worse. I had shock hair loss at the middle front part of my forehead and it did not grow back. Now I'm looking into prp to see if I am a candidate for that, in other words, I can't part my hair in the middLe because you will be able to see a bigger then normal line and I can't comb it back as well because you can see some hair missing. Again, I don't want to discurage you but I would like for you to be ready for that, just in case. If you like to reach me personally this is my email....c.tolentino@aol.com
