How I Decided on Dr Salama - Miami, FL

Why I didn't go to DR even though the price was right!

DR doctors push blood transfusion on their patients. In my opinion they don't care about 'us'. It seems they can be aggressive with us, particularly lipo and just give us transfusions after. To me that's like putting on nail polish messy and then cleaning up after which as we know still looks crappie! 'My thing' be careful and neat in the first place and will get better results and no need for extra money on transfusion!
Also in my query of DR doctors e.g. Blaze, Duran, Yily all said they wouldn't do my surgery because I don't accept blood. Hmmmm!!! Real doctors do their best for patients not to accept blood because blood carries so many diseases that technology hasn't been able to detect yet, as well as some patients bodies reject the blood and die. That's to risky for me!
One of the main reasons I choose Salama is because he uses a cell saver machine which washes and cleans your own blood while you are attached to the machine and that cleaned blood goes back into your body. Good for lipo since we loose a lot of blood during the procedure.
I spoke with dr Tania from DR and was going with her for a while but, waking up in surgery for me is scary.

I had my tummy tuck done with Dr Salama last week. He's pretty down to earth and takes pride in what he does. I haven't had a need to call him since surgery cause I'm recovering as expected. You made a good choice going with him.
I had surgery with Dr Salama and refused the blood transfusion before hand. After surgery they said I needed a blood transfusion so they charged my card $500. I asked what my Hemoglobin and Hematocrit were at after surgery and how did they know I needed a blood transfusion? They don't test you. They just give you blood whether you need it or not. Now working in the ER for 15 years I know what I'm talking about as far as lab results and blood loss goes. They should have been able to tell me why I needed a transfusion and what my H&H was at the time. I think they gave every woman in that recovery house a blood transfusion whether we needed one or not. Not only that I paid for lipo in two separate areas and he didn't do it. They never gave me a refund either and it's been 4 months. If you have surgery with Dr Salama don't expect to see him after surgery either for any post op visits. I came in from out of state and he never once saw me for my post op nor did he call even once to check on me or any of us that we're staying at the recovery house. If you're thinking about going to Dr Salama I would encourage you to reconsider and choose another doctor. He doesn't give a [RS bleep] about his patients. All he sees are dollar signs. That's it.
This happened to me and another girl at the recovery house too!
If I could warn as many women as I could about Dr. Salama I would! And I agree 100% with the above post! In the recovery house he told myself and it seemed about every other female that they also needed a blood transfusion. But they don't take any of your blood prior and doing what he does is highly risky and can cause infection! And guess what?? I developed a huge infection in my left hip area!! Go check out my review and the horrifying photos & videos. I haven't updated my review but yet again I had an abscess show up that hadn't gone away since I was released for the hospital. Just this week I had to be cut open and my lymph node in my groined area was HUGE, inflamed and red! I emailed Dr. Salama's office about it and they (like everything else) shrugged it off as if it were nothing! My doctor told me right away it was infected and needed to be cut open and drained! So yet again another bill and another scar because of this man! To continue to have infection after infection after this procedure is just beyond depressing and what's even more depressing and disgusting is that as stated above -- Dr. Salama cares NOTHING whatsoever about his patients! Him neither his staff has reached out to me since day one when they knew I developed an infection. I've never been treated so poorly in my life. I suggest you do your research and not make the same mistake I made my dear.
Girl! I gave mallol a deposit and everything. Changed to Salama for Oct 31 for similar reasons: it boiled down to health. I wanted that peace of mind. When are you going or did you go already?
I went to him twice and never had an issue thank GOD with burns or blood transfusion or anything and has always been very nice to me and his staff as well but I do know everyone has different experiences

How I choose dr Salama

For me it came down to Dr Salama, dr Perry and Dr Hughes and Blinski. Let's rule out Blinski because he had no availability for the date I requested. Dr Hughes because it's a four hour time difference which means a 10 hour connecting flight, I hate flying and walking on a flight for circulation is to cramped for a space for me. That left Salama and Perry.
The reviews I read about both parties:

Perry- seemed nice, professional but I found that there was not enough reviews also I started being bought the more I read Salama's reviews.

Salama- I read a lot of reviews and most of the bad reviews don't have pics to prove their claim and left me to wonder if it's a genuine review or others working for other surgeons. I must say there was this one review with a sister being burnt. Scared the crap out off me!!! I stopped looking at him for days but during my search for a good bbl surgeon Salama kept popping up. Started going over reviews again this time I noticed something else, a lot of good reviews written about dr Salama have no pics which again left doubts in my mind. Stressful!!!!! I stopped again. But I did notice that other doctors good reviews too had no pics. Hmmmmm!
This time went I started back searching for a surgeon I kept an open mind meaning;
Not everyone will be happy with results regardless or probably expectations were to high 'people their men not God'! Some persons body shape is just impossible to stretch and give results like their wish pics. I thought to about how I feel when I look at the pic of the surgeon himself. Also some of the results on realself that I think to be true. Have a reasonable view in mind of myself and how much work I would have the doctor do and base on pics is he capable.

I went back to Salama review pics. I looked at the women body type, shape and their butts after, the roundness small waist and so on. Yes a lot of sleepless nights and dragging next day preparing my kids for school.

In comparing Salama to Perry I thought there were not enough reviews to give me the confidence to go with Perry. Also for me their were more good reviews with pics than other doctors reviews that I was interested in.
By the way, some photos show the impossible task dr salama had in terms of patients body type. Wow!!! My body is no where close to the shape of others and it turned out ok. I think as is my body looks pretty good and would be easy/easier for the dr Salama to make me look close to perfect!!!

In conclusion in choosing a surgeon go with how you feel, head knowledge, broad certified, reviews on the internet like are they bankrupt and desperate, killed anyone, is their clinic on news in a negative light etc. you make your own decision for whom you choose it's not one to be rushed nor is it one to take likely, it's a big and serious one. Take your time regardless of the consultants rushing you. Be reasonable I expectations! That's it I'm out!

God bless you. I can see how agonizing it is to make the choice. I only inquired with one place that's 10 minutes down the road from my house and got lucky. No flying to paying for hotel, huge plus. I didn't like the way the payment and consultations were handled by the admin staff, it seemed they only cared about my money. But I was fortunate with the surgeon being very skilled and doing a great job on me. At the end of the day you just have to go with what makes sense to you.
Well said!
I also looked at this doctor for a BBL and TT and like you I stopped because of the one bad review that I read. I'm trying hard to narrow it down. From staying in the USA or going to the DR . I'm on realself just like you every day searching looking thinking. So stressful at times. Keep me posted, I'll be following you.
If I choose to stay USA this provider would be my choice though. Can't decide between the two surgeons.
I congratulate you on your journey, I too am in search of that trusted Dr, however I am depressingly stand 5'3 and weigh 230 lbs! I really don't know where to start, but i'm praying I could to reach my goal weight of 175lbs pre babies' weight. Good Luck and please keep us posted!
Sure I plan to keep my review up to date and with photos throughout my journey.
Sounds great !
