Well I've waited a year for the full results and here they are!

I definitely feel like I need around round of transplants to the brows make them more full... As you can see in the front rows, there are only a few hairs..My right has more than the left but still not as full as I would like it.

I got to say I am somewhat disappointed. The overall shape is better for the most part and with make up they look fine but the main reason I got this procedure done was so I wouldn't have to fill them in everyday and that just isn't going to happen right now with in their current state.

Also- some hairs grow straight out or down and it is impossible to train them-You see this more in the left brow! I'm having to keep them very short, especially in front.
My right eyebrow looks much better than my left. The hairs are at a better angle (they lay flatter) and it is more full than the left. The left brow also has a few spots where multiple hairs are coming out from one incision and I read on another review that they are not supposed to do that. One more thing is that I do feel like I lost some of my own original hairs.

I'm sure the difference in the two brows is because two different people implanted each brow, one nurse on each side working at the same time to save time, i'm sure!...so with that...it is impossible for them to look exactly the same without having the same person doing each side. An oversight they certainly should think about considering how expensive the procedure is!

My eyelids look great for the most part however my eyes are not 100% even. You can see this in the corners of my eyes. My right eye looks like it had more skin removed then the left eye and the right corner is wider than my right. It also doesn't look as smooth where the line is almost a slight bend to the eyelid.
I'm sure this can be corrected but not sure how much it will cost. And to be honest- It's a huge pain in the ass- At least a 2 week recovery time + travel expenses..it wont be an easy fix.
I know these are somewhat minor things and most people probably wound not notice unless I point it out (hopefully) but I spent $11,500 and I am a little frustrated that the Doctor couldn't get it right the first time...

I am emailing the doctor these photos tomorrow along with my thoughts on the process so we will see what he says!!!

Thanks so much for sharing your updated photos! The shape does look great on your face and I'm sure it looks perfect with makeup however there does seem to be slightly less hair growth than you would expect, especially from previous before and afters I've seen from Dr Epstein. I'm considering flying from overseas (Sydney) to have my brows done by him so I'd definitely be interested in hearing what he has to say - I too am also worried about having to travel long distances for a touch up.

How many hairs did he put in each eyebrow?

Hi there! I can see the difference between your right and left brows. I got the same problem, my right brow is great, nice shape and fuller and hairs were placed individually and they lay flat mostly. The left brow done by "sloppy S_ _y" sucks! It's patchy - with some bare spots in contrast to spots where she took bunches of hairs and inserted them sloppily and they look thick, dark and ugly especially because they were placed on the tail of the brow, where the brow should taper off (think of the bristles in a scrub brush all bunched into one hole). The left side also has hairs that stick out or go in the wrong direction. I have to cut them really short then pencil them in to fill in bare patches where she must of inserted multiple hairs into one hole and these didn't take hold. Every morning when I have to correct my brows with makeup, I think of sloppy S__y and I guess I will remember her by her less than perfect work for the rest of my life. I really wish she had been as meticulous as the professional who did my right brow. Of course, I cannot go back for a touch up, too expensive and far to travel to. I also cannot get my self to pluck out some of those bunched up implants that resemble kitchen brush bristles on the tail of my left brow. Dr. Epstein was great through out the procedure and follow up but like you, this was something I only wanted to do once in my life time. Overall, it's better to have hair now than shiny eyebrows like before. I am still trying to find the best product and technique to make them look how I want. They grow so much and fast I bought a battery operated brow trimmer. I kind of knew the new brows weren't going to be maintenance free but oh well, I got what I wanted...thicker eyebrows! My only advice to anyone considering an eyebrow transplant is to ask they insert individual hairs, especially on your brow tails, this way it looks more natural and if any fall out, you don't end up looking patchy.

Hi,
Hope you have seen more growth in your brows since you last posted. Did you contact the Dr. with your concerns. I have also had an eyebrow transplant with poor growth. I have to fill them in quite a bit with make up. I am considering microblading to fill in the gaps. It’s very disappointing since eyebrow transplants are so expensive!

Thanks for your review. I had two eyebrow transplantations, but my hairs really stick out so much that people have been asking me what the hell I did with my eyebrows. Do you have any idea how to make them lay on the skin instead of sticking out? Did you have also this problem? It really makes me so conscious about them the whole time, and it affects me psychologically :(

Do you have pictures of how it looks now? :)

Update! 10/22/17

floridagirlxx
Hey ladies!

Sorry to keep ya waiting on an update.

Brows are growing in great. I am having to trim them quite a bit...I'd say once a week bc as you know, they grow long (and fast). A few are growing the wrong direction but for the most part they look great. I am still filling in a little bit but not like I used to. I could probably get away with not filling in at all but I guess I am just used to doing it.

Eyes: Ok, so there are some scars. One eye was definitely better than the other. Also, I need to contact the doctor bc in the corner of my eyes as you can see from these photos has a small indent. I know that is where my old eye lid used to connect and when my eyes are open, you really cant see it but I wonder what can be done about this? If anything?

Aside for that, Im extremely happy with my results. My husband keeps telling me how great my eyes look and that he's happy I did it. I think I look slightly different now but no one else seems to notice bc it is so subtle. I actually didnt tell a lot of people and no one has said anything so that is a plus! My husband says hes used to the new look now and forgets it even happened. I think im still adjusting a little but I really love it and Im glad I did it. I remember around this time last year I was hating my heavy eyelids..everytime I wore eyeliner my eyelid would just sit on top of it. I don't have that problem anymore! I am bright eyed!

The scars are really faint now and I hope the scars will go away more with time. Like I said before, one eye was definitely a cleaner incision as there is essentially no scar, my left eye is more noticeable but when my eyes are open you cannot see it at all as it is in the crease of my eye.

I stayed at the Epic hotel in Miami, as they are pet friendly and we brought our dog with us. Super nice place. Just make sure you eat before you take any pain medication when they wake you up. I didn't and the loratab made me nauseous..

At first it will be intense. You are having major surgery so you will swell and not wanna go out in public at first, I wore big hat and glasses for a week. We drove to the keys and stayed with my Dad 2 days after surgery. One week after surgery I had the stitches removed by a different doctor. She was really impressed by how tiny the surtures were and complimented my doctors work and said he did a great job.

After you get them removed you will probably feel like everyone knows but they dont. By this time the brows will start to be crusting over and fall out which is probably more noticeable than the eyelids were.

Fast forward to now, I am so happy I did it. It seems like it was so long ago now and I too sometimes forget it ever happened. It's a journey but it goes by quick. :) Best of luck!

Hi Floridagirl! First of all; your eyebrows and eyelids look great, even without makeup! Secondly, thanks for your detailed and wonderful update - it's very helpful. The small indentations on the inner corners can probably be distracted with a bit of highlighter but they are not too bad, let us know what the doctor responds, other than that, you healed so well and your brows grew in so fast, what a difference! Question: what tool do you trim the brows with? tiny scissors or eyebrow razor trimmer? Your previous photo with makeup on looked beautiful, what brand/type of eyeliner and brow product did you apply? and are you using any brow gel to set hairs in place? I'd like to know this for future reference. I'm very happy you are happy and thanks again for your update.

Thank you so much! I've been using tiny scissors to trim. Haven't used any gel, perhaps I should try that..

I'm currently using sephora brand liquid eye liner and brow pencil. I'll keep ya posted once I reach out to the doctor.

Super happy with my upper bleph surgery right now. Wearing eyeliner for the first time post and actually being able to see my eyelid is awesome! Here are a couple before and after pictures where you can really see the difference.

Hi there! Hope you're doing great. I am extremely interested in your updates because I too decided to get the exact procedure done with Dr. Epstein (brows and upper bleph). Are you happy with your results? How are your eyebrows and eyelids? Would you have anything done differently? I would really appreciate your advice and another update. I thank you for your detailed review and great photos, your results look amazing.

I'd love to see any updated photos and hear more about how you're healing as well. I'm from Sydney and looking to get my brows done early next year with Dr Epstein. Unfortunately there are no doctors here in Australia with his portfolio of work.

Hi Florida Girl, I figure you are too busy to post any updates, understandable. I just keep coming back to your last photo and I am amazed, and wonder if this is actually "real" because your results look spectacular and this is what I would wish for myself. I am about to pay the deposit with Dr. Epstein for the same procedures and that is why I keep bugging you for any more advice or insight. I would be traveling to Miami by myself (never been there) and maybe I'm nervous about the pain, suffering, and financial burden, but if I can get the results you got it would be justified. That is why I keep bugging for anymore insight. I'm just very amazed at your results and I'm starting to wonder if I am being unrealistic about my personal results.

Good luck with your procedure! I'm in the same boat, am getting ready to lock in a date with Dr Epstein (just for brows though). Like you I'll be travelling to Miami (somewhere I've never been before) from Sydney! Am very nervous about the whole thing but I do believe Dr Epstein seems to be the best there is for brows. Fingers crossed for your surgery - hopefully it goes really well!

Oh wow, from Sydney! Best of luck to you too. Yes, I am nervous too, especially because I'll have 3 areas to worry about (brows, eyelids, and donor area on back of head). Thanks to FloridaGirl XX, I made the decision to go ahead because her results looked amazing and she got both procedures done at once, how convenient! Total makeover. Where I live there are no facial plastic surgeons and I wasn't going to jeopardize my upper bleph results to a plastic surgeon that does boobs and butts all day. My eyes are extremely important, you can't hide them under your cloths and I decided not to take the risk. With maturity come better decisions and for once I am not taking a chance. Maybe we can private message and send each other fotos. Take care.

Totally agree! After being self conscious about my brows for the last year I am now so incredibly cautious and eager not to make another mistake!

I've never had any kind of plastic surgery procedure before - not even Botox. However, late last year I made the huge mistake of getting microblading done. I used only wear a mininal amount of make up everyday, just BB cream, no eye make up, but my eyebrows were thin from overplucking as a teen so I would powder my brows in each day. Which was why I decided to get microblading done. I went to the most expensive/best reputation place in Sydney but they still turned out wrong. They healed grey instead of dark brown and it is very obvious the areas that are outside where I have hair due to poor technique.

Since then I have been incredibly self conscious about my eyebrows. I work in media here and had to cut bangs just to cover them so I could function properly. I looked into removals - nobody in Australia had significant experience with safe saline removal so I travelled to LA twice over the last 6 months to have it done. They are lighter but still there - which is why I think an eyebrow transplant would be my best chance. Again though there are only a couple of people here who do them - and I can't find any independent reviews of people who have done the procedure here with good results. So there is my long story!

It's funny I never appreciated my natural self before this whole situation - or anticipated spending my savings (and countless amount of headspace) on my eyebrows! However, I'm a perfectionist/type A personality in general so hopefully I am slowly learning the lesson to stop being so hard on myself.

Anyway, best of luck with your surgeries - when are you scheduled for? I am thinking Feb although I haven't locked in a definite date yet. Definitely feel free to message me privately. Would be great to hear how your procedures and healing go. Crossing my fingers for you!
