Hi all. So this is my first blog post for Dr Hochstein. I just had my surgery yesterday, 12/17/15 at 9:30 AM.
All of my life, I've had boobs that were two different sizes. The right boob was a full C and the left was a B cup. This made bra shopping and bathing suit shopping pretty hard. I decided in 2012 that I wanted to have surgery, but due to finances I decided to wait a few more years. I decided on Dr Hochstein for multiple reasons: 1) I have had a few friends who have had breast augmentations done by him 2) he has an incredible reputation especially if you ask around in the Miami area. My father works in Medical sales and ALL of the reps and doctors are very well aware of his work and 3) his office and staff made me feel super comfortable. After deciding on Dr Hochstein, I went through the normal process.
Bloodwork, bilateral ultrasound of the breasts and then the pre-op visit. At the pre-op, we decided on silicone implants and going to a full D. Since I already had decent sized boobs, the doctor said that achieving my desired result would only be possible with a lift as well. The day of surgery I was pretty nervous. I had to be there at 8:30 for my 9:30 surgery. After the doctor marked my boobs and the IV was put in, they walked me into the Freezing operating room where they hooked up my IV and all the necessary wires/cuffs. The anesthesiologist then came in and gave me his "happy cocktail" which made me feel very nice and loopy. Next thing I remember is waking up in the recovery room to the nurse tapping my arm and saying my name. I did wake up in a LOT of pain. That is the first thing I said. The nurse then gave me two IV's of pain medicine. I was able to head home 30 min later. The first day was pretty miserable. I do not have a high pain tolerance so I was not feeling too hot. I took 1 Percocet every 4 hours and then Valium to sleep (take the Valium! It helps). I also ate a full meal and drank a ton of water and a Sprite....so my appetite didn't go anywhere. Today is post op DAY 2. I'm still in a decent amount of pain. Honestly though, my back hurts more than my chest because of sleeping at a 45 degree angle. As for my chest, the pain seems to shift. Right now it's the middle cleavage area that feels tight and bruised. I had my bandages removed and I was fit for my bra (36D). My boobs are VERY swollen and VERY high, which is all normal. Dr H said everything looks great. Will update more later!

Ahhhhh thank you! He truly knows what he's doing. I think the freakiest thing is just how HARD my breasts are. They feel like they are going to rip out of my skin! Best of luck on your recovery! I hear tummy tucks can be pretty painful.

Congrats on your surgery! I actually have really bad lower back pain in general but didn't have any pain after my BA even though I had to sleep upright for 10 days. I think what helped me is I always had 1-2 pillows under my knees. This helps to curve the lower back and take the pressure off of that area. If you aren't already doing that, try it! Hope it helps!

Post op Day 3

Woke up today feeling a LOT better. I slept more on my back last night than the first night (about a 35-40degree angle). I was able to get out of bed on my own this morning by rolling to the side and sliding off slowly. I still won't use my arms or chest to push me up. The minute I feel any pain or tightness, I immediately stop what I'm doing. I will tell you, ICING my boobs has helped so much. Doc said it wasn't necessary, but it seems to alleviate the pain so I've been icing here and there with frozen peas. I was also able to shower today which was nice. My incisions are still oozing a little but not too much. I'm also still taking the Percocet but depending how I feel the rest of the day, I may switch to Tylenol extra strength. I will post some more pics later today!

Ugh thank you! Did you by any chance have swelling under the incision line (under your boob)? Right under the incision tape, there's a little bulge on each boob. It's a little painful too. Dr H. Said its just swelling/fluid buildup. Wondering how long this will take to go away?

No I didn't how ever are you taking the post op vitim I feel like they really helped me a lot.

Yes! I'm taking the painkillers, antibiotics, a multivitamin and the arnika/Bromaline. I'm also icing my boobs a little here and there. They're just so tight feeling. Lol and I have no sensation in my nipples which is a little freaky. Hopefully that comes back but I know sometimes it doesn't

Yeah your doing great I iced a little be carful with the icing I have feeling in one nipple and was told that it's still healing how ever I don't believe it will.
