Fat Transfer Gone Terrible - Miami, FL

ORIGINAL POST

Long story to tell.... Have had breast...

$13,000
Long story to tell....

Have had breast insecurities my entire life 32 A/small B barely fit into a bra. Wanted to have BA but didn't want implants. Years I went along with these insecurities until a month before a deployment I learned of fat transfer. Got so excited did all the research schedule a consultation 9 month in advance... Flew from CA to FL to visit Dr. Khouri. I paid for the Brava System $797.09 I paid for replacement domes--- the broke with the 2 week of usage (b/c once you use the turbo system the warranty doesn’t cover it, lucky me I had a person who only made me pay for the shipping fees) $89.15, flight (2 times) hotel (2 times), and rental car (2 times)$2517.98, in additional to the $9000+ for the surgery. I have spent over $13,000 for pain and suffering.

Yes I said over $13,000 for pain and suffering. I'm going to post an email I sent to the doctor after my surgery....My experience with the Miami Breast Center: I schedule my appointment 9 months in advance.
Upon first arrival: My first thoughts were the women at the front counter are very rude individuals. After waiting about an 30 minutes I was finally taken to the back to have my pictures taken (Kayla really sweet young lady) and to be seen by the doctor. When he finally came in the room I was under the impression that he cared about what I wanted. I didn’t have any problems with the doctor himself. He asked me my overall goals and what I was looking to achieve and why I wanted to have this surgery. You see I have been insecure my entire life with my breast size. Considered having implants but never wanted a foreign item (until this experience) in my body. We schedule the surgery and I was beyond happy. The doctor even gave me a discount to help with my dream.

The Brava system: I ordered my system and started using it right away. Two weeks in I sent this email:

Hello Ms. Haire,
I spoke with a customer service rep today about my domes. I have been using the domes for two weeks now, last week I started using the turbo system. Last night was the first time I have had issue with my domes. It started with the actual sticking to my body. When the turbo machine is applying pressure the domes stick without a problem, however one the pressure is released the dome drops off my chest (I have the black bra on.) so i hold them until the next cycle of pressure starts. I did what you have suggested and switch the domes between left and right for a better fit/seal. Now the right dome gel ring has started to clasp more. I have attached pictures as requested to show the break down in the gel. The gel ring is also coming apart from the plastic. When handling the domes I place my finger completely inside to stretch making sure I am gently stretching the plastic and not the gel part. My surgery is in 9 days. Please tell me what I need to do, I do not want to lose time.
Thank you

She sent me extra-large domes. Do you know what happens to extra-large domes when the turbo pack is added? They clasp. On the 30 Aug 2013 I sent this email

Ms. Haire,
Quick question. How can I get the new domes to not narrow when the turbo pressure is applied? Unlike the other domes these go really narrow with pressure. I have tried attaching the domes as wide as possible on the skin but it stills narrows in upon applied pressure. Please help

Thanks you
SM
Me

I sent this email several times and called over 10 times. I never heard back from her. My surgery was schedule for the 4 Sept 2013. I came in that morning to see the doctor. I arrived with my clasped domes. When the young lady (not Kayla) came in to take the pictures I asked her about the clasping. She stated something along the lines of having an outer piece to support against the pressure. (I was not provided any additional information about these pieces at that time.) After she finished taking the picture I was sent to get my MRI done. The experience at the MRI office was terrible, I will spare you the details (but I will never return to that center for a MRI). I returned later that evening to see Dr. Khouri before my surgery the next day. When he walked in the room and saw the domes he was pissed. There were a lot of things said about how I was not expanded enough and the surgery being postponed. After explaining all the you read above, it was decided the surgery would be postponed. I had to wear the Brava system none stop for 48 hours. Very painful... I'm At this time the young lady I saw earlier that day added a plastic piece to keep the domes from going narrow. When I saw Dr. Rotemberg the day before surgery she expressed her concerns about me wearing the system 48 hours none stop. The entire top layer of skin from my nipples had completely came off. I was tender and my over all expansions was still not what she thought it could be, but proceeded with the surgery as schedule.

After my surgery I spoke with Dr. Rotemberg several times over the phone about the lumps and pain I have been experiencing. I have asked several times was this a normal thing, to which I still have not received a direct answer to that question. Is anything of the things I’m going through normal??

As you can see this surgery wasn't worth it. I am schedule to have the many lumps removed from my breast 24 Nov followed by breast implants on 18 Dec... I still haven't heard anything from the doctor after he requested I send a copy of my recent MRI which I've done several times. This is the shorten version of my experience with MBC.

I have many marks from the needles over chest thighs hips and back. My breast size just large lumps. I might post picture but they are truly embarrassing

I am so sorry to read what has happened to you. There are some other members that have also did not end up with positive results after their surgery. You should read their reviews before you go forward with any other surgeries. Please look at Miagirl 1234 and Flat2fake2free'n'fab reviews. I really suggest that you read all of the posts when you have time. You will see that they were attacked a lot for speaking out about their experience. Thank you for sharing your story.
Omg, I didn't even write... about that part so tramatic , I'm crying reading about your experience, so horrible, nobody gets it, unless you went through this hell :'(
post pictures please...lots of issues related from Kkouri's office on this site.
My results can't be seen with picture.... I can show the scars but a picture can't show the lumps... Plus I just had surgery on Monday to have them removed... Would you like to see the new surgery incision?
I agree with your comment
There seems to be a lot of issues with dr khouri on this site
Yes, pictures and stories are very important, do not be embarrassed, you are doing a great service in sharing your experience...
Yes, any and all photos are important
Yes
Would that we could be of assistance now. I am so sorry you are experiencing such a terrible situation. Don't let the physician get away with what has happened. Complain to the Medical Board of his state. See what happens. Anyway, God Bless....
Going to Google, and try to complain, just spoke to a another patient that is horrified!!!! I have nightmares thinking who's next
I'm for anything they happens I just had surgery to have one of the large lumps removed
PAYERS,PRAYERS, PRAYERS..Did they biopsy it? God Bless
Good luck with your situation, Sounds very traumatic. I know your not a fan of implants, But,... I have had my implants for 20 plus and love the new ones I just did my exchange, I would suggest you really take time to decide how to approach any revisions, and suggest considering implants .
