I had my surgery yesterday with Dr. McAdoo and wow...
I had my surgery yesterday with Dr. McAdoo and wow this has been an experience so far but I love my results. I'm 5' 1" and about 147 pounds I already had hips and a butt but I wanted more. I've had a Realself account for a while now, and stalked it until I found the right doctor lol I also follow McAdoo on Instagram. Margaret was my surgery coordinator she's really nice but towards the end when I wanted my invoice from when I paid I had to email/ text her several times to get it. I paid $4500 for 12 areas of Lipo and bbl, at my pre-op appointment I paid $500 to also have my inner thighs done. Roxy emailed me my lab work about a month before my surgery, she was always helpful and emailed me right back if I had any questions. Most supplies I got from Walmart and got my ab board and Lipo foam online, I'll make another post about that later. So my pre op appointment was the day before surgery because I live out of state, I got there at 9:30 am and didn't leave until 5 pm!! I would've left and came back if I had known it would be that long but I kept hearing "you're the next person he will see" "he's almost out of surgery".. Dayomie his nurse, that's my girl! She saw how upset I was for waiting that long so she made sure I'd be the first person on his schedule for surgery. She also helped me decide on getting my inner thighs done because it was between that and my arms. She gave me three prescriptions one for antibiotic, nausea, and for shots that you have to do yourself or whoever is with you. I didn't get my pain med one until day of surgery. Anyways, I get there at 5:30 and about 7 McAdoo started to mark me up then the anesthesiologist came in then next thing I know I'm up and leaving around 11. Most girls were taken to their cars in wheelchairs but nope not me, my friend said that I just walked out of there and went straight to the back seat lol. After pain meds it's not too bad but the ride back to the condo, I cried I was in so much pain! I'll write more later about after surgery and my follow up.
First few days after surgery
Tuesday: I woke up on my stomach in the recovery room, with a nurse handing me a cup of Gatorade, i was in so much pain. Make sure whoever takes you gets your pain prescription before your surgery so when they pick you up you will have it. That wasn't my case so I was laying in the back seat for a good hour before having any pain meds. You're suppose to take one every four hours, yeah right I took two as soon as I got them. After that the pain wasn't bad. You have to get up every hour to walk 20 minutes and drink a gallon of water a day. The first 8 hours after surgery I was draining every hour, after that I was draining every 3 or 4. I'm glad I didn't get my arms done because I wouldn't have been able to get up on my own.
Wednesday: I went for my first post op appoinment, make sure you take your pain and nausea meds before u go and eat well because when they took off my garment for the first time I almost passed out. Jennifer is McAdoo's post-op assistant, she's the best! She's so sweet and you can tell she genuinely cares about the patients. After that I went for my first massage at Medical Massage Professionals, it did hurt a little bit you will feel so much better after. That night I continued to walk and drink plenty of water.
Thursday: The pain still wasn't too bad I just felt very sore. Jennifer told me to not do Lipo foams until the fourth day so I put a tank top on because without anything the garment will rub your skin. I went for my second massage, I didn't drain as much as the first. I will say the most uncomfortable thing is the triangle they put on your lower back, even with my tank top on it rubs on my skin. When I got back to the condo my friend helped me washed my garment and socks because they were covered in blood, we used a travel packet of tide and a bottle of peroxide and most of the blood was gone! It did feel strange not having the garment on but you will feel so much better after it's washed.
Friday: I went for my last massage, that one hurt the most but idk what she did because after that massage that was the best I felt all week. After my massage I went for my last post-op visit, Jennifer gave me all my paperwork like a note for work, then I had to wait two hours to see Dr. McAdoo, I can he is a very busy man with all the people there to see him.
Saturday/Sunday: Soreness is getting better by the day. Saturday I did lay on my stomach for a while with the ab board, wasn't uncomfortable to me. I'll prob get my drain out Monday because I'm not draining that much anymore. I'll make sure to keep y'all updated!

4 weeks post op update.
12 days post op
Well ladies the stories are true you fall in love with your butt the first two weeks then one day you wake up and it's half the size it was. *sigh* I know swelling has a lot to do with it but I was happy with the swollen size lol. My butt still has a nice shape but I'm already thinking of having round 2 at the beginning of the year. I was told I would have full back Lipo but I def don't think he did the top half because i still have back fat especially near my arms, so that will be one of the areas I'll have done for round 2. Also I have a dent on my right cheek that I'm not too happy about, I know I had some cellulite before but I thought the transfer would help with that. I'll most likely go back to Mcadoo but I also want to look around closer to home because there's so much more to worry about when you're having surgery out of state.
Anyways so the first few weeks have been rough! I had my drain taken out after 7 days, I was so glad to have that thing out. It didnt hurt just felt really weird when the drain first gets through the incision hole. And sleep. What's sleep? The first 3 weeks I probably slept only 2-3 hours at night, I'm just now being able to sleep 5-6 hours at night. I bought the bed cot McAdoo told me to get and cut a hole for my butt, there's a bar underneath in the middle and if you're not careful your butt can end up laying on it. I switch out every few hours between that and laying on my stomach on my bed because both can be uncomfortable. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and went back to work the next Thursday, but I only lasted a couple hours. I definitely recommend taking off 2- 2.5 weeks. Can't wait to go out and have a normal life again! I'm going to LA in a few weeks for my bday and I'm hopinggggg my butt doesn't go down even more.
