Ok so this is my second attempt at lipo, Dr.Nathan Young of Dallas, TX did my first one. He was great the issue was not him it was me. Lipo should not be used to lose weight, it is about the redistribution of fat. Many people ask if the fat cells are removed if you can get fat in those areas again. Well guess what...the remaining fat cells just get larger which in the end will give you the same results eventually(IMO). I got sick with some gastro issues this past year and had gained 35 lbs and nothing was working for me to lose the weight. I did Adipex P worked out but I really think the meds I have been taking play a major role in my issues with not losing weight. So at this point I am excepting the fact that I am almost 45 and will be a thick woman in the later part of my life. Instead of being concerned with weight I am going to see if we can change the shape. Thus leading me to Dr. Fisher, my reason for selecting him and Dr. Ghurani ( yes he is good also). Is because the both seem to focus on the heart shaped bottom. I think for my body shape that is more natural.
I had read all the reviews about him and 98.9% of people are satisfied with their results from Dr.Fisher. The issues people complain about is the communication between the Vanity Cosmetics Customer service issues, the facility is very high traffic due to the fact they are a facility that the doctor use to perform the procedures. I personally had the same issues with the high pressure to pay upfront to get on the doctors calendar, also the pulling of my credit then telling me after the fact that the fee is higher when you use credit over cash payment ( price is 40% higher once they increase the procedure fee and you included finance charges ect). They are very vague with alot of things and that is not cool. Then the organization of things is hit or miss. Sometimes they are calling and texting you daily then when you want to hear from them nothing.
I did not stay in a recovery house or use their Lipo package I got another package and the lady came to me to do the massages. She gave me 4 massages @ $400 but if I would have got to see her it would have been only $75 per massage and she was worth every penny. I just did not feel like getting out everyday to ride in the car to see her but she came to me. I know she won't do that unless she has at least 3 people to massage at the same location(there were 3 other ladies in my same resorts who had surgery, so it worked out well for all of us. I got my first massage 3 days post op.
FAJAS size issue. Ladies make sure you have at least 2 garments before the procedure. TRY THEM ON, they need to slide on easy. Tight garments cause tissue damage in the fat transfer. You want the garment loose enough for the lip foam and board to fit in the garment with your swelling. This is post op ladies and Dr. Fisher will not use super tight garments. I got the Diane XXXXL (4XL) thats right ladies 4XL because I had hips and he wanted a garment that would fit over them and my new heart booty without crushing the delicate fat cells. I bought 2 of them from Vanity @ $120 per garment and they only take CASH :/( really). Well anyway like I said get your garments in advance.
I am all over the place because I am sleepy and just wanted to share a little about my experience thus far.
Ok so me and my hubby flew in from Dallas on 8/17/15 to MIA (day before the procedure). I was told to be there before noon. I wanted to be there as soon as the doors opened because I figured if I was first then I would be first for surgery also (that is not how that work, it is determined by the health and procedure of the person, and who Dr. Fisher wants to do first). I did not wait for my hubby to get the rental car I took a cab for $24 to Vanity Cosmetics and I was shocked to see it was in plaza area. O well I get in a give one of the 3 girls my name and phone number. They tell me to have a seat and within 5 minutes a woman call my name to come to her office to sign off on about 20 to 30 pages of paperwork. Once we are done she says okay nothing to eat after 10PM and they will give me the pain script the day of surgery(my hubby could pick it up was the theory). I did not see a nurse medical professional or anything. I guess they had everything. I was told to expect a call for the exact procedure time. That call dod not come in until 6:13 PM and I was told my surgery was for 6 AM. The call was short and sweet.
That night I did my to full body washes with the HIBICLENS and then when to sleep. The next morning I got up and took another shower around 4:30 AM, thinking that I should probably be there at least 1 hour before the the surgery. So we get up and leave the room at 5AM and arrive there at 5:23 AM the placed looked close I walked up to the door and it was jarred open by the lock. So I walk in call out to see if anyone would respond and it was silent. I could see lights on in the back so I walked back there and yelled. I felt like this was a horror flick and something was about to happen. So I went outside and told my hubby to come in with me( yeah I guess we both better get killed at the same time LOL joking). We both are walking around call out to see if anyone would answer and the answer was nope. So we head out back to the car and as soon as we do we see a man walking in. I ask him if the place was open and he said yes( that was Dr. Hassan). I went in after him and a few moments later a nurse came out and ask who I was there to see I told her Dr. Fisher and she disappeared and with a minute another person came out asked if I was Maria Lewis and then took me to do the EKG. She asked about my labs and then she found them, took a UA and then told me to show her my garment so we can get ready for surgery. Told her I needed to purchase one. She had me try on a couple and I got the 4XL Diane with the zipper on the side.
She told my hubby it would be about 4 to 5 hours and they would call him and he left. She then took me to a pre op room with to recliner type chairs and asked me to change into the paper gown and when she comes back she will take photos. She took photos, the the anesthesiologist came in and place my IV in, after that, Dr. Fisher came in look like Jason Statham, and asked me how I felt, what my expectations were and then told me he was going to the some pictures and share with me the the reality for my body.
So he told me that due to my natural shape and bone structure he would not be able to give me the desired look I wanted. He told me that if I do change my diet and add some physical activity to my lifestyle then I will stay my weight or get bigger. Honesty works for me.
After that he shook my hand and within a few minute the nurse came to get me and took me back to the O.R., it was Ice Cold. They gave me a shot of something and the next thing I knew I was cold and shaking like a leaf. I was in so much pain and just cold as heck. I must have been loud because they came and gave me something in my IV for pain. I was silent after that.
Moving forward...got to the room went sleep again woke up thirsty and my hubby was on it with the pain meds. The next day UGHHHHH!
My head and neck was throbbing, due to the awkward way I slept flat on my belly. I felt so gross with all the bright right blood stains all across my garment. I was in pain and took my meds. I brought my ninja blender and my hubby made me a smoothie with raw apple juice, prune juice and frozen mixed berries. It was perfect. I was very and determined to find a way to use the bathroom. I bought he pee thing gone girl and it was messy. So I just stood over the toilet bowl facing the wall and peed through my opening. It worked for me, and when I had to poop ( that was on day 4) . I took two thick towels and put them on the edge of the tub and place a chux pad in the bottom of the tub. I with my thighs on the towel and my but hung over the edge and I braced myself till I could sit in a position to poo. My but was not touching the tub at all. YES IT IS GROSS BUT YA KNOW WHAT it felt so good to get that out of me. I could care less what anyone thought or thinks.
I forgot to mention that I had to go in the next day for the follow up and the ride. It was with the Medical assistant and she just wanted to check the drain and ask me how I was doing and to make sure I was taking the antibiotics.

Ok so I have been having this swelling of my calf with bright red bruising and tightness since the day before I left Miami. Today I called Dr. Fisher's MA Juliett and she told me told go my Primary Care doctor and order a test to make sure there was not a blood clot (DVT). They did the test and it was clear but they did find a complex cyst in my right groin( it had nothing to due with the surgery).
