I've always had an apple shape with hardly any...
I've always had an apple shape with hardly any waist and instead of my hips flaring out like an hourglass, my hips indent inwards making my butt look square-shaped. No matter how many squats and butt exercises I did, I could never achieve the hourglass shape I've always wanted. So after so many years of reviewing Real Self, I finally decided to have the BBL surgery with Dr. Mel Ortega at Spectrum Aesethics since I saw he was among the top surgeons in Miami and on Real Self.
Dr. Ortega is a very nice man with a great bedside manner. He made me feel comfortable before and after surgery and answered all of my questions. He made sure to explain the limits of the BBL procedure as I was on the slimmer side, but I made sure to tell him that as long as he gave me some hips and a nice heart-shaped booty, everything would be all good. Once the anesthesia kicked in, I was out and woke up shaking which is completely normal due to the anesthesia. They initially charged me $100 for my garment, but when I told my coordinator Emily that I believed it was included in my price, she promptly made sure to refund the money.
I stayed at Claudia's Recovery Home for a week after my surgery for $145/day. Claudia's husband picked me up from surgery and once I arrived at the home and laid down, Claudia fed me soup and gave me my medicine which they pick-up for you. Every day Claudia cooks 3 different meals, each of which are amazingly good and healthy while giving you healthy snacks and drinks throughout the day. She assists you with going to the bathroom, is meticulously clean, and gives you many recommendations on how to have a speedy recovery. She does 1-hour lymphatic massages for $45 which honestly helped me immensely in my recovery. Of course the massages are a bit painful, but she makes sure to soften all that hardened tissue from the lipo and drain excess liquid. I broke my massages up into half-hour sessions everyday. By the third day I could already walk around fine with just soreness. Claudia is amazing and she cares so much about the patients under her care. She also has a medical background from Argentina and has been helping people recover from surgeries for 18 years. Claudia or her husband will pick you up and drop you off at the airport and drive you to the bank and clinic for your pre-op and post-op visits. She does not have single bedrooms, the bedrooms have 3 beds in each, but I found my recovery to be easier with other girls going through the same process.
All in all, Dr. Ortega did a great job with giving me what I asked for. My left hip/butt cheek is not as rounded as my right-side, but this may have been due to fat reabsorbtion or just the amount of fat he could harvest. Overall I am happy with my results and will wait to see the final outcome in a few months. I definitely recommend Claudia's Recovery House as it is the least expensive option while also getting the best of care. I bought the Booty Buddy which is great for sitting without placing any pressure on your butt unlike the Boppy Pillow. To be honest, the worst part of my whole recovery is sleeping on my stomach, which has killed my neck and back. I may buy the BBL Mattress, but am wary about the cost.
