I'm a 59 year old male physician. I started losing my hair around age 19. Nearly 30 years ago I started using compounded topical minoxidil before it actually came on the market. In my early 40's, in the early 1990's, I started with hair transplants.with a local ENT surgeon in the Philadelphia area and then Bosley. Between them I had 4 procedures, a scalp reduction, and about 1600+ grafts. Techniques have improved immensely since then. I moved to Florida in 1997 and contacted Dr. Epstein about 4 years ago. In the last 4 years I have had 4 procedures with him, a combination of FUG and FUE, for a total of about 3,200 grafts. I just had my last procedure 2 weeks ago. So I started over 15 years ago and did it in stages. While my initial results were good, Dr. Epstein's work took it to a new level. I would probably be a Norwood IV or worse by now if I hadn't had the hair transplants. I also use Propecia, low level laser therapy (the Laser Cap), and topical minoxidil. I couldn't be happier. I look in the mirror now and see a guy with a full head of hair. No one looks at my hair or hairline when I meet them, and I don't worry about the wind. I have the hair that I always wanted and can style it now in several different modern ways.
