55 Year Old, Tummy Tuck and Breast Implants. Best Decision Ever. Miami, FL

THE BEST decision I've made cosmetically. Had 1 child at 36, a second at 42. This page didn't let me post real date of surgery. It was November 2008. I was 48. For years after pregnancies people would ask me when I was due. I wasn't pregnant. Have slim legs, small buttocks and slim hips. I accumulated all post partum fat around my waist line. From under my breast to my bikini line. I set up a consult with Dr. KALLMAN who had replaced my mom's breast implants, after no doctor in Miami wanted to touch her because of her health issues. Dr. KALLMAN was referred by her cardiologist who said plastic surgeons are afraid to operate on patients with health issues such as your mom. (Diabetic, stroke, heart attack and by pass, her advance age also. 73). Dr KALLMAN replaced implants and all went smoothly. During my consult for me, I said I was scared because I have hypertension. Under control. He patiently explained the procedure, answered my questions about breast augmentation, and offered to do both at the same time! He only operates in a hospital with a cardiac care unit, uses an anesthesiologist, not a technitian, and offered me an overnight in hospital for monitoring and comfort. In his waiting room, a lady was waiting for a follow up. 

She wore a loose dress. He spoke to her, and to my surprise, the woman came in with the dr to show me her tummytuck and breast implants he had done 10 days before. Not only was she standing straight, but with a great smile said "I was so scared to do it because I have children, it's been great, I'm here to remove the left over drain." I went home, made my decision over night and set up the surgery for 30 days later. It was done at Mt. Sinai hosp in Miami Beach. I slept through the night with great pain killers, compression machine was attached to my legs to reduce risk of blood clots, nurses talked about how well dr kallman's patients do. I was made to sit up the next morning which hurt. Not as much as post Csections but it did hurt. I had drains on either side of my hips. I was taught how to drain them and that they would be removed when they stopped filling with liquid. 1 was removed 3 days later at his office, the other one 4 days later. I was given a RX for a pain killer and instructed to switch to Tylenol or Motrin when I felt up to it. 

I took a total of 3 Rx pills at home, mostly to sleep, and switched to Motrin 2 days later. My breast felt tight , HUGE, and my nipples had insitions 1/2 around the aureolas. He sent me home with a torso wrap, compression stockings and said a light support bra was optional. I got a light one. The swelling in my breasts disappeared within 4-6 weeks. Can't say they ever hurt. My breasts are just perfect. 15 days post surgery I was Xmas tree shopping with my kids, did light cooking and was amazed at how fast my recovery. I had to hold back from doing things. Taking it easy and controlled steps, it really helped with recovery. Drank tons of pineapple juice and water. Ate light and slowly increased daily activity. Now my belly button. Well, it's beautiful. I had a hernia removed in my teens and appendix. Both large scars were gone. In its place a beautiful tight torso, with a bikini line thin scar from hip to hip I gladly bear. Wearing a bikini is heaven after years of self conscious hiding in 1 pc suits. My breasts were restored to the size and perkiness of my 20's. I couldn't be happier. Surgery results are truly immediate within 2 months. But after 8mos. It's just amazing. 

Not only has Dr. KALLMAN returned my body, but my confidence is greater. I found a new wardrobe in my closet and bra shopping is a pleasure. It's been 8 years and all looks great. Hitting the gym and healthy life style changes are a must. What a heads up this surgery gives you physically to motivate you into or continue a healthy life style. I'm also asked what else I had done on my body. Well nothing. My naturally slim physique finally showed once the awful tummy was removed and tucked. He also is the best at Botox, I ask if I should do my eyelids and crows feet. he said, no, your Botox wore out. I keep it up (3-4x yr) and my face looks great! (Except for that mean MELASMA). He used Juviderm around my labionasal folds 2 years ago. It looks great. I saw his wife 12 days after a facelift and she had NO bruises. I'm considering fat injections for my cheeks and some other procedures he's recommendeing. Just have to build up courage to do. When I go to his office, the waiting room is filled with patients who rave about what a knowledgeable, gentle, professional surgeon he is. It's always a pleasure to visit his office, as he and his wife strike up conversations about travels, kids, inquired about family and just a very humble man. His wife works at his office. What a pleasure to see them when I visit.
