So disappointed

$3,000
I am extremely sad to say my results are not what I expected, not at all what the doctor said he could do. Friday the 23rd will be 2 weeks out. I was hoping and had asked Dr. Alvarez to fix the size difference between my breasts. Instead he put in the exact same size implant on both sides, so I’m very unsymmetrical. Also, he didn’t touch the pocket so they are even more droopy. The doctor spent 30 minutes total with me in surgery. He did nothing but cut out the old implants and shove in new ones. I went larger, 650cc, but you can’t tell at all. My old bras fit the same. I questioned if the doctor even switched the implant at all. My right breast is having issues also. It is flat on bottom, almost square. I can feel the implant bunched up like it’s just been shoved in. The inside and outside edge have a point where the implant sticks out. It has one spot that it feels like the implant is sewn into the scar. I saw a local plastic surgeon and he was blown away at what a poor job Mia Aesthetics did. He said it was the worst revision he had ever seen. I have sent messages to Mia, I’m hoping they will make this right. I spent $2800 on the surgery plus travel, Meds, labs, all just to have the same breast issues I had before. I have cried, regretting my decision, every day since surgery.

I am so sorry to hear this! I was really hoping they would end up being perfect for you. Push push push MIA to make it right or try and find another surgeon thay will help you at slower cost. I still think they look nice though! My implants are also not symmetrical though so i understand that feeling completely.
Hi there.... I know you're going to hear from some that " you're only 12 days" and "you need to be patient" but I sympathize with you because that's the last thing you want to here when you are looking in the mirror and see asymmetry. I too have asymmetry and it was the one thing I wanted to correct after my first surgery (and my second, and my third). Just my two cents, but if you're thinking about a revision already, I would go elsewhere. I know lots of RealSelfers and surgeons think you should stick with your original surgeon.....give him/her a chance to 'make it right' but I the way I look at it, and from my own experience, if they didn't get it right the first time, they probably won't the second or the third time. Find a surgeon that does a LOT of revisions and be sure to look at lots of reviews here on RealSelf of actually women that have posts lots of before and after photos before making your decision. As you already know, it's emotionally draining living with results that aren't what we expected. So take time to heal. Try and focus on something else other than your boobs (I know, easier said than done) and then in a few months take your time choosing a new surgeon. I would hesitate doing what I did, and go back to the same surgeon because they are offering you a deal on the revision... Save a little extra $$ and get it done right the second time. Sorry... don't mean to preach but just want to save you the trouble of going through what I have.... Hugs to you!!!! Please do keep us posted and updated with pics as you are healing. Wishing you the best! xo!
Wtf..this does not look well. I would be livid.
I agree with the other post that I would wait a little before revision. And if you feel you need to have one I would also go with a different surgeon. Trust lost is almost impossible to get back. I totally understand trying to save money - and understand also your decision to choose a lower price because of the great ratings the doctor had. Always remember this is a fixable issue and in the crux of things, and when you get it fixed to your satisfaction, it was wasn't a ridiculously costly lesson. I am sure you will research and end up with the results you want.
Hey Sam.... I responded to you message about the type of Inspiras on SalSiBRs review.... I did in deed get the most cohesive and they ripple so be careful. I was able to photograph my rippling.... again, it’s not as bad as your saline rippling but still, for the price I paid for the upgrade and then Natrelle implies they are good for revisions with rippling... just disappointing that I didn’t have rippling with the Mentors but do with these. But, my left is the one rippling and and it’s too medial so placement is key! My doctor did a shitty job creating my pockets....
ORIGINAL POST

I had my original implants done in 2004 by Dr. Jed...

I had my original implants done in 2004 by Dr. Jed Bindrup in Utah. At that time I was a 32 AA. I had one daughter and had nurses her for 2 years. At the time silicone implants were not available so I went with saline. I had them put under the muscle, 450cc implants filled to 490cc’s. That took me to a large C small D. One has always been larger than the other and they were never really the size I wanted, I wanted larger. 3 years after getting them I had another child, I was still able to nurse her for 2 years. With breast feeding and the implants my boobs got enormous. My skin stretched quite badly, leaving my breasts saggy and the skin was so lose the rippling was terrible. I knew I would need to have my implants replaced someday and did get a consult with Dr. Bindrup to see about getting them redone. It was going to cost $7000to get them done so I just kept putting it off. Then in December of 2017 I saw a Facebook ad for Mia Aesthetics and Dr Alvarez. The ad quoted silicone breast implants for $2800!!! That was a price I could not pass up. He had a 4.7 star rating so I figured it was worth looking into. I filled out the online consultation form and sent pics. They contacted me a couple days later and gave me all the information I needed. A week later I sent in my deposit and booked my appointment for March 9th. I am flying to Miami from Colorado the day before surgery for my pre-op appointment. I am staying with my aunt who is traveling with me at an Airbnb. I am planning of going from my 490 cc’s to 650-700 cc’s. My current implants are saline round (vintage lol) and I have no clue what profile. I want silicone high profiles. Dr Alvarez did seem to think I needed a lift based on the pictures I sent in. I am really hoping I do not end up with droopy giant boobs. I want them back up high and perky. I am a bit concerned because I had 2 women contact me on Facebook regarding Mia aesthetics. They both had procedures done there and said it’s a chop shop, they take zero time with patients, you do not meet Dr Alvarez at your pre op , he only comes in right before surgery. They also mentioned it being dirty and that they were rushed out after surgery with no after care instructions. Most of the reviews say how please patients are but these two women said the doctors bribe patients with free stuff for 5 star ratings. These ladies have me freaked out. I have already purchased my Airbnb, plane tickets & paid my deposit so I don’t know what to do. Any women who have feedback on Mia and Dr Alvarez would be greatly appreciated. I have had all my labs done and my letter of clearance sent. Please beware of the before pictures. I’m not exaggerating when I say I have major ripples. I can literally feel the implant lining, I can pinch it between my fingers. I am a personal trainer and fitness instructor so I have a pretty muscular body. I am worried my chest muscles will make it difficult to fit a larger implant. Is 700 cc’s too much for someone super active? How long will I not be able to workout, it’s literally my job so I have to get back to work ASAP. I will post updates next week after pre op and after the new boobies. 9 days and counting!!!!

Good luck! I am anxious to see of any other women on here have had bad results with your ps. Definitly scary but most Drs have at least one or two shabby reviews.
Thank you! My original Dr. Was out of Utah, hoping doctors out of Miami know their stuff a little better
Also, id make sure there are no added costs, like anesthesia fees or facility fees, etc. I've never heard of it being so cheap but could just be you got lucky!
how did everything go?! my surgery is scheduled for May 10th

oh no!! I am so sorry to hear this. have they responded to you at all?! did you see him at your pre-op visit or only just before surgery?
They do not let you see them at pre op. You get about 5 minutes with them right before surgery. It was so rushed, like fast food plastic surgery.
Hello, I’ve scheduled my surgery with him in January and would like to know your outcome. I too had implants done back in 2005 (Saline) and my left is leaking. I’m as concerned with getting another surgery done especially at my age (43) and 3 age school girls.
Thank you
