Finally Worth It

WORTH IT$6,700
I think I'm finally ready to change my "Not Sure" to "Worth It".

It's been two months and I am seeing the great results I was so hoping for. The ptosis repair has healed slowly and was no joke but I have come out on the other side and feel like the worry and wait has been worth it.

I feel great and other than some tightness in the outer corners of my eyes and some minor residual scarring and swelling (which I'm sure will resolve themselves in time), I feel like I am pretty well healed.

Thanks for all of your well wishes and uplifting messages! It's so wonderful to have a community that understands and has been through so many of the same experiences.

thabk u for sharing your experience.
You're so welcome!
You look fantastic T..
I'm starting to feel the same way. Blinking and closing my eyes is easier now.
Thank you for sharing with us. I love following you friend.
J.
Thanks so much, J! I'm so glad we're finally feeling better. It's been great following your progress too.
I think you look fantastic! I am really hoping mine settles down too. I am 4 weeks post op and I feel I still have a "peak". It's open quite a bit more than my left eye.
It takes more patience than I thought I had - like watching paint dry - but it gets better and better every day. Good luck with your continued recovery!
You look absolutely amazing! Thank you for sharing your story and your photos.
Wow, amazing.

My eye finally closes when I sleep!

I was hopeful but a little worried that my left eye would never close again while I sleep. Well, great news - it is finally closing!!! I slept like a rock last night and am actually looking forward to bedtime tonight!

Yay! Great news.
Don't know what happened to my reply but it went something like this:
I just want to tell you that you look fantastic! I had upper lids in June and I am asymetrical now. I am having trouble finding a dr that will even look at me for an opinion. I wish I never had it done. But honestly I think you really look great!
Thanks so much and I'm so sorry to hear about your asymmetry. I am still having little issues and have an appointment with my doctor on Tuesday. I have a bump at the outer corner of one eye that itches and is sore. It may be an internal suture that needs to be removed. I'm also having trouble wearing my contacts. I bought drops suitable for contacts today and will try them tomorrow.
I really thought this would be a much easier surgery to recover from. Good luck with your continued recovery and I hope things get better for you.
I'm just over a month, had upper and lower lids done. Still tight, some soreness and swelling. Got a sty in left upper lid so I'm talking drops and on z pak. Overall I'm seeing much improvement but it takes much longer than I anticipated
I feel the same.
Hi! When you say a stye, is that like a big, inflamed pimple or a subcutaneous swelling? I'm taking antibiotics plus using drops and heat compresses for a firm swelling between the suture line and the brow, and while the effected eye's slower to heal it's definitely improving. Take care, Toni.
It was a pimple under eyelid. Ended up having Doctor inject it with anti biotic and steroid and it resolved in a few days

Almost 5 Weeks

I'm feeling well and am happy with my progress. I still see some asymmetry but I think it's getting better. My biggest concerns right now are that my eyes still feel tight at the corners, my left eye still isn't closing completely when I try to sleep and the shape of my left eye is wierd. My lid isn't rounded, but looks like there is some sort of pulling in the top lid. Also, the right eye is pinched upwards in the outer corner. The doctor says the pinched look will go away in time, so I'll just wait. I will see him again in early November.
Has anyone else had these issues?
I would like to say that I'm loving my mascara again and can't wait to wear my contacts - next Thursday I can put my glasses in their case. Yay!!

Darn, I was hoping you were all done and things were well.
I hope that little pucker goes away. Your eyes do look beautiful.
Those stitches are stubborn, I find then on my outside corners. Still having to lube up. Tomorrow is my 5 week appointment.
Still suffering from mascara envy.
Hoping you continue to heal.
How are you doing? Has the chemosis resolved itself? I did find out at my last visit that I have dissolvable sutures. I had no idea. I guess those things really are stubborn.
I figured the stitches fall out when their job is done, but hurry I want to play makeup.
I go back to dr tomorrow afternoon. Check up.
The chemosis is much better the eye is very red and irritated. Still with ointment at night. Can you believe my upper lids still have scabs? Sure glad when we are better and back to our old normal life. I will update after my appointment.
I hope all went well at the doctors visit and that those pesky stitches fall out and the scabs are on their way out. Looking forward to your next post and hoping you'll be putting your mascara on soon.
My appointment went well. Go back in two months. He says I am healing well, slow, but fine. I'll update a photo in the morning.
I asked about the stitches, he says I have two rows on my bottom lids still and a lot inside. Each day is a little better.
I had the same problem, both my eyes were dropping at the corners, the right eye still had some ptosis in it and the left one feels like it's being pulled upward, and looks to wide open and this was after a year! The surgeon said he would fix the droop on the corners of my eyes but I was to afraid to go back to him and decided Togo to a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, I just had my surgery a week ago and I am very happy with the way my eyes look now. But my eyes will never feel totally the way they did before the ptosis surgery, I just wish I never would have had to begin with
So sorry to hear about your experience with your first surgery and I hope your second surgery works out. I hope when all of my swelling settles, I'm happy with my eyes. I so don't want another surgery.
I know, that's how I felt too, but the second one was a success, with the plastic surgeon he did a great job and I am so happy!
You still have healing to do and I hope it goes well for you and you don't need another, your eyes are healing very nicely and it does look very pretty! Best of luck to you!
Thanks!
Hi there, I'm glad to hear that your 2nd surgery went well. May i ask which surgeon did you have the revision surgery with. I'm looking for one. Thx
Such a lot of surgery in one go, no wonder you weren't very comfortable at first you poor, brave girl! Sounds like you're on the home stretch now though, and the photos do show a great looking pair of peepers. Thanks for documenting your op; I'm having upper blepharoplasty and left ptosis repair this Thursday, and having an idea of what to expect will no doubt save a few panicked calls to the surgeon☺️. Take care, Toni.
Thanks so much and good luck with your surgery. You're going to do great and before you know it, you'll be feeling like yourself again, only better!
I think your eyes overall look great!
