I forgot to mention that the pressure of the implant had caused me an unbearable pain, that sometimes felt like having a heart attack or collapsing of my breast. I had visited two doctors before I visited Dr Patricio Correa in the Clinica Merida, and within 5 minutes he told me I suffered intercostobrachial nerve pain, that could be cured with a month supply of Lyrica. When I visited the heart specialist for approval to be operated, and told the heart specialist about my ¨heart attacks¨ he also told me he had seen several women in his office, with similar stories, and all of them didn´t have any problems with their heart, though all of them had breast implants as well. I am so glad that they are out of my body...

In 1994 I had implants 325 cc, which I had changed in 2006, the left one ruptured. The doctor placed 400cc to fill my pockets. since thr beginning they were uncomfortable but it was unbearable to be active in yoga. Since two years I have been in pain and it was until last monday that i finally found a nice plastic surgeon here in Merida Yucatan Mexico that I was told that he could leave the implants, and give me a month treatment for the pain imwas suffering due to a nerve that is squeezed in between my ribs and is squeezed because of the implants. i prefer to have them taken out after 18 years of implants, and the doctor understood this and yesterday he took my implants out, intact. I have made pictures to share with all of you, but will post these as soon as I am back in the hotel. I feel free. Will get back today with pics. Thank you to all the women here for all this support sharing your experiences:)

This surgeon made me feel very comfortable, at ease. No pressure for a lift or other implants, just being supportive and understanding. He even talk to me about the dolphin diet, very interesting and beneficial for our health. Here in Merida leave many expats, and the locals and expats are all talking very positive about Dr. Patricio Correa Millet. He also told me that my Mc Ghan implants were anatomical of shape, and that they were rotated, that´s why my breast always looked so different. I am really happy with the approach of the doctor, he really made the whole process a lot easier. I spent one night in the hospital, and this morning the doctor stopped by to say goodbye, I have no stitches to take out and have to come back in three weeks to check. I hope that the shape improves a little bit, that what I have left will look better in six months, and would like to know if anyone has any tips to help during the recovery. In just six weeks I´ll be back to yoga, thanks to all of you here, who have helped me make this decision. I´ll keep posting over the next weeks, with pictures, to help other women make a decision.
