Today I got juvederm for the first time and I am pretty happy with the results. I didn't go super plump right alway I want to work my way up to a nice pout. So I went with .4ml today and the other half of the syringe will go in 2 weeks from now. It was a bit more painful than I was anticipating because I read other reviews about the numbing cream. The numbing cream did work great, but now a couple hours later that it has wore off, they are pretty painful to the point where I don't wanna eat, drink or even put Chapstick on. I've been icing them and luckily I came out with no brusing. My lips are very thin to begin with and I've been wasting so much money on lip plumper that just leave me disappointed that I just knew I wanted something more permanent. I will keep you updated on my touch up in 2 weeks :) also I can't wait to see how they look with lipstick and some gloss since I haven't been able to put any on yet!

They look beautiful, thank you for sharing!

Did you consider having dental block to help with the pain? I hear they work really well! Keep us posted on your journey!

omg u think your lips are thin to begin with......... wow u have very nice lips hun! but they look great afterwards as well!

dental block is more painful, the trick is to have them put the numbing cream for at least 15-30 mins u won't feel a thing!!!!!!!!!

Day after

So it's the next day and I am seriously upset I feel like I just wasted so much money and don't even wanna go back for the rest of my syringe. I look and feel ridiculous because it has swelled so bad. And I was in excruciating pain last night it would wake me up out of my sleep throbbing. I couldn't find anything on the internet saying that this was that painful after so I thought maybe i was having an allergic reaction. I had to take a pain killer to relive the pain until the morning so I could hopefully sleep it off. And today I look like I got stung by a million bees. I'm so disappointed in myself for going through with this and am trying everything to cover my face at work so my co workers don't ask questions. Praying the swelling goes down soon so I can try and enjoy what I paid for. Also haven't been able to eat since the procedure and can barely drink anything without major concentration...[RS bleep].

Much better today swelling has gone down. Still a bit tender the first night was hell but ever since then I've been doing great. Updated some pics as well. No the best lighting...I have a tinted Chapstick on.

Omg this has freaked me out now. You sounded like you were in a ton of pain. I've never had it done so now I'm not so sure...
What did you do to minimize the swelling?

I was in a ridiculous amount of pain. I honestly wasn't even scared for the procedure because I never read anywhere else about anyone being in much pain after. But the next day there was still some pain and just major swelling which went away by the end of the day. But I still can't rub my lips together like you would after putting lip gloss on because they are still a bit sore. I just iced it alot to minimize swelling and tried not to touch them or anything. I feel like most people who haven't gotten this are never in as much pain as I was in. I might've just had a bad reaction. If I were you I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Thank you. Also where did you get this done? Did a plastic surgeon do it?

She was a doctor who did mine at a small plastic surgery skin care clinic

Don't let it freak you out. I just had mine done yesterday and I read to prop yourself up when you sleep. I fell asleep on the couch for about an hour and woke up and they were swollen pretty bad but then when I went back to sleep I propped myself up to almost sitting up and the next day was fine. Still swollen but not that huge next day swollen most people experience. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to try that next time when I go in for a touch up!

You did? Did you do Juvederm or Restalyn and how much did you get injected? Did you go to a PS or derm? I was going to get mine done Tuesday but I chickened out :(
Thank you!

I got the restalyn but the dermatologist recommend the restalyn because she said it lasts longer so I went with that. .4ml were injected. I went back yesterday to remove a little ball that formed to get I massaged out. I ended up chickening out for a touch up that I was scheduled for as well lol :(

Did it hurt that much!? For you to chicken out of a touch up...I'm super nervous now

Yeah but I don't think that is common at all. If I was were you j wouldn't worry. It didn't hurt at all getting the injections with the numbing cream on. I would go for it if I was you, either way I'll be going back to get the other half of my touch up soon :)

Not so common. Go do it chelsnic. You will love the results. You need to ice the lips after injections. Ice on and off. I didn't know that and I looked like Daffy Duck no kidding for a day. I need a top up now and it has been a few months. They really went down fast. I had no pain after. Just the tight swelling.

So sorry that you were in so much pain, but your lips look amazing! It definitely seems like it was worth it despite the pain. Can't wait to get mine done on October 15th! Did you have to do anything to prep before you went to get them done?

Thank you :) and no I didn't have to do much just not over the counter pills like ibruprophen or aleeve ect that are blood thinners so that you don't bruise as much. I heard some people take arnica pills a few days before but honestly I didn't even bruise a little so I probably wouldn't worry about that. And then lots of icing after :)
