No drain tummy tuck. Drove 2 hrs to hospital near...

No drain tummy tuck. Drove 2 hrs to hospital near his office . 1 hr after post op was kicked out. 2 hr drive home . my husband woke up to blood soaked bed. Incision split from hip to hip . Emergency room. Next day Dr shell states this happens a lot. I'd be healed in a month. Seen by er docs 6 more times . Took 9 months for incision to close . Almost died with septic. On. 6 month appt. Dr shell tired of seeing me. Said it was my fault. He want return my money. New plastic surgeon with all new fees that I can't afford states everything done wrong. Left with severe thick scars. Hips sunk in and tight . Having to sell our home. Advise to get second opinion.

So sorry to hear about your terrible ordeal. Will you please provide pictures? I pray you get the opportunity to get another plastic surgeon to fix his mistakes. Well wishes!

I've got a photo now. When we are able to get the money. I feel so disgusting. My skin has thick scar . Feels Like a belt imbedded in my skin .so he didn't cut me in the pub Ares. So I look like I have a ball sac. New plastic guy that I had to pay $100 to see said he cut me wrong and should have Lipo that area . I feel real sexy ( not) thank god my husband loves me . I just think more info is needed. You only have one year from the day of your surgery in Tennessee to take any legal action If something goes wrong. We tried and it's elected surgery that's why it's hard. We should have contacted st Francis hospital to see if we had any options . He pulled me to tight and with no drains all that fluid blew my incision open. We really liked him at first . After 6 months he didn't like me. I did everything he asked from kale to exercise . He went out of town and I ran a 104. Fever. And my husband took me to local er. Who said I needed to see a plastic surgeon asap. So I had to see someone else since he was out of town . That made Dr shell so mad . He had no plans of correcting my tummy . Tuck not without more money . I researched him and thought he was honest .I was wrong. Other patients had lots of problems with their surgerys as I went for so many weeks and months. He just didn't listen to me. I'd had endometriosis and had several surgeries in the past . That's why I knew I needed drains .

Were you able to take any legal action on this guy? Who would ever do a TT without drains?! That is just insane!

No lawyer would take the case because it's elective. You only have less than 1 years after surgery to sue. I really thought he was a good md. I thought after all the money and time we traveled and er visits and missed worked that He would return our money. Instead he just laughs about it. Be careful.

Omg ! I pray you find a good ps and God works through him or her to help you find a solution . Your body try's to heals itself you might need to give it sometime to see how it heals.

Oh my gosh girl I thought that things like this didn't happen here. I'm sorry to hear all this. I had a full tummytuck and it was back to my home land D.R and I was very delighted with my doctor very professional and not only that he after my exam advised me not to do everything I wanted which was breast lift and the tummytuck..if he would it be money hungry he would it done it but he cares more for the his pt. In regards to your experience I would put a law suit.

My ps is Dr. Mary Gingrass in Nashville TN. She was absolutely amazing. I hight recommend her. I knew I wanted a woman doctor to do my surgery. ..not saying a man couldn't, but I think women understand women better.

begged to be taken back to sugery
Begged to go back to st Francis to be stapled or sewn back up. Dr shell refused . You will heal quickly . 9 months wasn't quickly. My husband worked 10-12 hr days then had to come home and help me shower and pack my incision. Now that's a Christian man . I cried for wanting this and cried for putting our marriage and finances strained . I didn't deserve this . Fyi : no lawyer would help us because it's elected surgery . Dr shell needs to return our Money and pain and suffering . I thought I picked the right doctor .

I am in shock!!!! This is the doctor I decided on last week to do my tummy tuck. I am absolutely terrified now. Why did he say this happened to you... I read earlier that you stated he said it was your fault??? Why did he say this was your fault???

Stated I had gained weight. When I started talking about how he was going to correct it after I healed. I still weigh less than I did before. He had no intentions of helping me without me giving him more money . I would take a audio recording device of what he plans on doing if opening . You only have one year to sue him and we couldn't find one lawyer to help because it's elected . St Francis hospital was terrible also. In one day. No chair but a school desk chair. My husband had to sleep on the floor. The guy at the hospital stated they do this so you will leave as soon as possible. They put me on protein and kale added to foods. I did everything asked. . That's why I asked for drains . All that fluid and pressure has to come out .would not recommended non drain tummy tuck. If you watch botched . Everyone with any procedure has a drain. Also Dr shell can't keep staff. In the months I was there . His business lady quit. His nurse quit and a front office quit.

Wow! I am so sorry this happened to you. I think I have made the decision to not go with him. I can't even imagine what you have been through. I'm so sorry and I'm praying for you a great recovery and that you can get your "botched" tummy fixed. Do you mind telling me the other doctor you went to see who said he did it all wrong. I'm in the process of deciding on a new surgeon. I thought I had one with Dr.Shell but I think I'm going to have to pass on him. Plastic surgeons are so limited around Memphis.

You would be a fool to go to him. I had a tt with muscle repair and I can't think of any reason for this to happen. I beleive he didn't give good post-op care and it seems like he's all about the money. I woukd go to him if it was free. And $11,000 for a tt is expensive. Had mine done in nashville for $7100.

Dr. Shell has a terrible reputation in Memphis. I went to Dr. Karen Quigley. Don't ever use St. Francis hospital either. It is a cheap and terrible hospital. Most nurses and medical professionals go to Dr. Quigley. Dr. Shell has terrible Google reviews also. Cancel your surgery!!!!

So sorry that this happened to you. I hope things will get better for you and you will find a competent compassionate PS to fix the wrong that was done to you. He is right "it is your fault for trusting him lying to you and passing himself of as a plastic surgeon." He is a BUTCHER and a dream stealer. Praying for a miracle in your situation. $11,000 is super expensive. I have never heard of a tummy tuck that expensive. I had lipo on my flanks and an extended tummy tuck for $7000 with Dr. Quigley. The $7000 included the surgical suite too. The surgical center was amazing with xtremely friendly staff. Dr. Quigley's office is across the hall.

Another reviewer on here had the same ordeal as you. She too was rushed to the ER and Dr.S kept telling her everything was going to be ok. It did not turned out well. She is deformed as well and he put her and her family through what you had described. Folks Stay clear from this man!

Does anyone know of a lawyer to get our money back. Dr shell has put us in over 40,000 worth of debit being off so long. Any help . He's got a lot of lawyers in his pockets
