Finally found a few pics from my recovery
These pictures were taken during the healing process. If my memory serves me correctly, the infection was almost gone at this point. I was on silver nitrate patches to help the womb close up. These photos were taken 8-21-09, almost 4 months after my surgery on 5-1-09

My initial experience with Dr. Shell was...
My initial experience with Dr. Shell was wonderful, all the way up to surgery. After surgery my stitches came open. I went to Dr Shell's office the very same day. He didn't sew up the open place but put a sterile strip over it. That didn't hold it together. After a few days an infection set in. I was given antibiotics for 2 weeks. After two weeks of the antibiotics, my infection became worse. I returned to him for followup and at that time he swabbed the infected area to determine what type of infection it was (that should have been done 2 weeks prior). After the results came back, it was determined that I was on the wrong antibiotics!! As a result of his failure to properly diagnose the type of infection, my infection spread even more and also caused my stitches to split in several different places. At this point I had a whole in my breast the size of the palm of my hand! Long story short, I had a horrible experience and I wouldn't recommend Dr. Shell to anyone.

Wow!!!! I'm convinced more that half of his patients wounds open up he does nothing at the onset until things get progressively worse.... how are your breast now? I have a pretty bad scar from hip to hip that reminds me everyday of all I went through. I'm getting a breast reduction & lift but NOT from doctor Shell. I also want a scar revision done on my tummy but I'm uber afraid of taking the risk. Still praying about it I may ask the doctor that is going to do my breat the cost of having a scar revision done.

He's too old and needs to retire!
My scars are very ugly but they don't bother me. After all that I went through, I don't regret having the surgery but I do regret letting him do it! I'll take the ugly scars over the heavy breasts any day!

That's awesome that you have such a positive outlook about your scars.... I should take on that attitude as well. I too like Dr. Shell and agree it may be time for him to retire after 37 years.... maybe he will after his daughter graduates this year. Thanks for responding & I pray that you life will be filled with nothing but blessings from God!!!

Could have told you. All he wants is the money. He nearly cost me my life and my job. Will not return my money . St Francis hospital also dirty. Hope you get better soon .

Thanks! I'm better. This happened almost 8 years ago. It took over 6 months but I recovered. I have the ugliest breasts on the planet but I have my life!
