So after being in the grey about getting a breast...

So after being in the grey about getting a breast augmentation for years I finally decided what the heck? I work and feel as though I deserve it I am very, very nervous about surgery mostly due to what I have seen on TV but nervous nonetheless. I am in the Memphis area and have scheduled two consultations with two different surgeons in the area. I initially considered traveling to get this procedure done but then decided against. I really hate riding in cars for long periods of time and didn't want the added costs of hotel room and being away from my bed. I am sure I will need rest to recovery and hotel beds and rest just don't belong in the same sentence. I am just now figuring out how to write a review on this site and will endeavor to keep you guys updated with my progress.
Today was my initial consultation with the first doctor that was based on a friend referral. Ok so I am sitting waiting on a consultation which in my opinion is very important. The parking was horrible but I guess if I had come on time I wouldn’t have had an issue. So far they weren’t able to locate my paperwork which I completed yesterday so I don’t know it could be timing. The hubby was suppose to meet me here but of course he is running late. I arrived at 9:52 and my appointment is at 10:00. So far they have taken a picture of my drivers license and asked me to wait. I am writing as therapy to calm my nerves. The waiting room has several women and a few men not sure why but they are here! I think a few of the patients have had surgery and are just here for post op. One lady is carrying on a very loud conversation that she is here to have her stitches removed from under her arm!?? Hubby still not arrived or he could be trying to park. Either way I wish he was here to calm my nerves. I mean if I am this nervous now I can’t only imagine what I will be like the actual day of the surgery. He’s here!!! Ok feeling much more relaxed. Have my questions paid my $125 and now waiting. 11 mins later and I am still waiting.
So the consultation is over and I am back home. The surgeon was very knowledgeable and sounded very interested in performing my procedure She wasn't of the most bubbly personality and that is ok with me because neither am I. She was really listening to me and paid a lot of attention to my body and what would work for me Honestly I had my notebook and pen ready to write down any information that I thought would be useful later on and honestly it went so fast that I didn't even remember half of what I wanted to ask. Seemed like she had been asked a few times the same questions so I get it but still. She said that I have plenty of tissue and skin to support large implants. Also because I am so talll my frame would hold them up well. She recommended either a modest profile plus or high profile. She suggested that I go with the under the breast incision and the under the muscle placement. We also decided on silicone gel. I was able to try on a few sizers in something called a genie bra and feel in love. It was much better than wearing my homemade rice, lol I think we decided that the 450cc would be too big but the 350 would be too small. I believe she was thinking somewhere around 400cc maybe slighter larger in my left breast since it is more dominant and my rib cage sticks out bit more on the left side of my body. We may have to go larger placement. She said that during surgery she will bring a few difference sizes to try on. We finished the appointment talking about the recovery and payment. Her fee was 4000 plus the anesthesia and whatever the hospital charged. This brought our estimated grand total to around 7K. I went ahead an penciled in the date I was thinking about getting it done and will get back with them later possibly. Overall I think it went well, one thing I found odd was that during recovery she normally doesn't recommend wearing any clothes or a bra she says to just let them hang. Also she didn't recommend any pre-op prescriptions or soaps or anything. Maybe this will come before my pre-op appointment. So that is all for now I guess I will wait till Thursday after my second consultation before making a decision. Going to do a bit more reading and try to be better prepared. One thing I didn't have was any pictures of what I wished my breast would look like.

Good luck! I would definitely take pics in of what you wish to look like and what you don’t wish to look like. Make sure you check out the doctors before and after pics too. That will give you an idea of what kind of work they do and if they are capable of giving you the look you desire. Don’t hesitate to ask them any questions you want as many times as you want ;) Best wishes to you!

2nd consultation - unsure help???

memphischick901

So I am about a week after the fact but wanted to let you guys know ow my 2nd consultation went. So I found his doctor through real self. The practice is very small and privately owned. I noticed first hand that the doctor was very personable and seemed to care a lot about her patients. I was very impress with how through and everything her examination was. When we started the visit she took my pictures and did a breast examination. Once done she was able to project what my future breast would look like at any given size. We played around with a few on he digital images and then she showed me some very personal ones taken recently from her phone. This was great! Next she brought out the sizes to try on. Once again he queen of unpreparedness had on an underwire bra and they couldn’t fit very well. She did give me he option to come back and try on different sizers in a sports bra or with different clothes on. In addition she said I had plenty of skin just lacked tissue. I agree due to breastfeeding and working out the tissue is non-existent. So as I am dressing she is in he la studying my pictures and she goes into a lot of detail about how now that she looks at the picture more I might need a slight lift just so the breast will match. Normally she said she wouldn’t recommend one but it just gonna keep bothering her if she doesn’t get in there and get it fixed. I was like ok I don’t really want a life. I had been told by the 1st consultation that yes it was about 1cm off from the right but I wasn’t going to heavy it will be as noticeable as it has always been. Which we no-existence to me. She also said worse case I could do a push up bra. But nothing that would cause her to do the extra surgery unless I elected to do so. Anyway I went home and thought about it. Then I talked it over with my BFF and she was like well if it don’t want it you don’t want it. Call her back and see if she will do it without the lift. I called back and she was in surgery. I finally left a message with her receptionist after arguing with her for several minutes about why wants and needs and my body. At this point I am majorly pissed. Maybe I would have been convinced if she had said well I can see why pu wouldn’t want it but I’ll let the doctor know and she can call you back to discuss. No, she went on and on she would do is and that and if it were her! I was hot! Ok so I hung up and was throughly pissed! She did call back, the receptionist not the surgeon and was like yes she will do the surgery but you won’t like it. So at this point I have no idea what to do. Honestly both surgeons had very very similar suggestions but the office staff at the 2nd one sort of pissed me off. I’ll give it a few days to decide once things have cooled down.

I personally would not use the surgeon that had the aggressive receptionist. This surgery is for you and what you want. It’s the surgeons job to tell you their medical opinion, but not to force a procedure on you. If you do not want the lift, do not do it. Maybe consult with a couple more surgeons. Best wishes to you!

Before

So while I ponder I figured I would drop a before picture. I am currently in a 36A cup. The largest I have ever been was a B cup while pregnant and breastfeeding. I am hoping that with this surgery I can gain back some confidence lost along with losing my boobs! I am hoping to be a full C or small D!!
