Age 60, Tummy Tuck with Lipo. Memphis, TN

I'm scheduled for a tummy tuck and lipo November...

I'm scheduled for a tummy tuck and lipo November 11. I'm 60 & have been wanting this for a long time. Also I'm high risk with one bypass at age 53 and I'm a controlled type 2 diabetic. I wanted BL but my doctor said to wait to see if I still want it after above procedures. My doctor is very concerned about my health which makes me very thankful. I've also had a pulmonary embolism after the bypass. It seems very real now because the clinic called today to confirm some information. I know I will have drains and that I should recover nicely in 2 weeks. I'm not posting pictures until closer to surgery. I plan to travel the day before to see my mom. Any comments?

Hiya just want to wish you well.
I think you might be under a bit of illusion it will Takeuchi more than 2 weeks to recover, I am only telling you then you are not to disappointed.
In my opinion it takes at least 4 weeks to come round and still at this stage you are still very aware you have had a big operation .
My PS states at least 6 weeks with no excise just small walks and lots of rest.
Hope this puts you in the picture a little more.cant be rushed.

I've read that 4 weeks is more like.

I'm curious if just the TT and Lipo will make a difference in my weight after surgery. Surely I should loose something and gain my waistline back. No one has answered this question. 11 days to go. I weight around 150 or so, 5'1".

Yes it will make a difference what ever they cut off and take out with lipo.
I was around 155 lb before and 152 after. Don't forget you will have loads of swelling which will wieght as well. Can't say much on my waist but didn't have lipo.
Make such you tell them to lipo as much as poss in this area.
Have you had a look at all my photos ? Surely this give you an idea.
But please bear in mind it take time. You are my hight and weigh less. Put some photos on.are you having your muscle tighten cause that will make all the diffarance.
I gone down 2 sizes on my waist.
Hope this helps. But don't expected to see what you are going to be left with till around 5/6 months in the morning.

Glynis c: She said she wasn't going to do my muscles. She had me do a sit up and said she didn't think it's necessary and it would take longer. For every 30 minutes over the allotted time she booked, it's $350/half hour. I've already paid the surgery center and I think for anesthesia. I'll have to check my paperwork. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. I also take fluid pills daily for congestive heart failure. My surgery time is 2.5 hours.

First, Congratulations! I am 64 and very glad I got my TT with Lipo 7 weeks ago; should have done it sooner. I am very healthy and active, but must tell you my recovery has been slower than what you anticipate. I'm just beginning to feel like myself again. And I am still easily tired. Please don't expect a 2 week recovery.
