Hi
Sorry to say that I see no improvement on the pictures,
I did Ultherapy as well , recommended by my dermatologist, 2 years ago, but given the cost around $4000, I saw no difference before and after and was so unhappy that I spend so much money for .
For all women, do fall for the ads., but review and go by the users recommendation, not by the companies of the machines.
December 14, 2015
I could not agree more and I wish I could get the word out to more woman. I lost 3000 to this waste of a procedure that was (for me) for painful than childbirth. In fact, to this date it was the most painful cosmetic procedure i've ever done. It did nothing and I too lost facial fullness at the which gave me a very loose, wrinkled curtain effect. Please don't fall for this. I will say that it does seem to show minimal improvment to some womens necks. But too many other things coming out that can help that. Don't let these doctors talk you into this because they are trying to pay off machines before you ultimately end up with a lower face-lift! They make money for both instead of just doing the lower lift!

You're right, it does hurt and cost a lot. after all of that if we end up having to still get lower lifts it does seem like we got taken advantage of because of our insecurities about our aging faces. Bummer.

mlyn726, wondering what has happened over the last 4 months with you, did you continue to see improvment or more fat loss? I am 5 months out and my face has collapsed, no more fat. Also having eye problems, did you have the treatment around your eyes or brow?
User Avatar

I didn't have any more problems or fat loss . I only had lower half of face and neck done. I'm sorry to hear you didn't have good results. Did you go back to the doctor who did your ultherapy to see what they think?
December 13, 2015
Hi, Your jaw line and around the mouth is definitely better. The lighting is different in the pictures so it is harder to tell. Harsher light on the before picture. However, I am definitely see a difference. The skin texture on the chin also looks softer but maybe it is because of the softer light on the after picture. Do you see a difference in your skin texture?
December 13, 2015
You have to wait till at least 6 months. I kept seeing results passed the one year mark.
May 19, 2016
wow, my face lost all fat in 2-4 months and I had severe eye swelling and dry eye within the first week of this treatment. It has been a life altering nightmare. The facility/surgeon said I had a standard treatment, not even close to being overdosed, and are taking no responsibility. I find it scary that this machine is sooooo unpredictable and yet on the market.

It was painful .. I had Lowe fave and neck and I agree it is expensive for such a slight short term result result..and hurts ..I had great results for first year though slight and now a year out I notice my skin on neck is loose .. I don't have wrinkles but the fat is gone so the skin is loose.. I have to keep my head up all the time..A few weeks after I had it I kept thinking anything that burns and hurts so bad cannot be good for you.. If it destroys collagen it can destroy fat muscle and tissue.. What I would like to see more of is people like me who had good result for a year and then see the down turn after a year... My husband did notice improvement on my Jowls . And what about our thyroid gland ?
January 18, 2016
I had good results the first time. After a year I aged 10. I decided to have done for the second time. Since then, I have had to have 6 vials of filler placed in my face to make it look close to what I did prior to having Ultherapy done. I do not recommend it for anyone over the age of 50.
January 18, 2016
My story as well but I have not had the fillers yet. Waiting all changes first.

6 vials of filler? Did you have a liquid face lift? In the past I was guilty of over using filler but have since learned my lesson. I am now considering fat transfer. However I have learned that the result depends on the injector. I hope that you are happy with your outcome. Private message me sometime.

Dolls, I have not had ultherapy and I do not understand the concept behind it. I do not think it is a good idea for anyone if it causes this much tissue damage / volume loss. I am so sorry about your experience and thank you for sharing your story.
January 18, 2017
I think you're right, anything that has this much impact on potentially harming fat and bone and muscle does not make sense to do. There are many younger people who have had the same issue. Some in their twenties thirties and forties have been upset with the facial changes after ultherapy too. Maybe even more so because they lost some good years and were not even needing correction yet. So who is the safe age? You won't get your money back and there's no guatanyer no matter what your age. Some have liked it too, but it scares the heck out of me. It's also so expensive you could save for a face lift or lip lift that would do more for one's youthful appearance.
May 4, 2016
I had it done 2 years ago on my neck and jawline. Had a follow-up treatment a couple of months later. Went back to her office about every 4-6 weeks so she could take photos. Dr. would always say something positive about subtle improvements, but I didn't see them. Perhaps it was because I was a bit older (62) at the time, but I feel it was a total waste of $3,600. In hindsight, I wish I had either taken an awesome vacation or put that money toward a mini facelift. Would not recommend.

So I think ultherapy helped my turkey neck no doubt. However, I do think to some extent it caused fat loss in my face. Not a lot but some that I can see for myself. I'm going to get fillers later this month i think. Overall would I recommend ultherapy? Not sure because they say wait 6 months before you decide. If I lose more volume, I'd say don't do it because they don't tell you that up front and it's too costly IMO to not know the possibility of the negatives as well as the positives.

I hope for you it doesn't cause the problems I an so many others have incurred. A surgical result is much more predictable in my experience than ultherapy or rf .

I hope I don't lose more volume too. I'm trying to wait it out and asking for advice from the doctors on this site before I go the surgical route. I'm sorry you had a bad result. I think it's really a shame that procedures Like ultherapy are being performed without people like us or even the people performing he procedures really knowing the risks. Everyone is looking for an alternative to surgery when really it seems like there isn't one.
December 13, 2015
I'm praying for your results to be good in long run. Lord knows I've gone thru, an STILL GOING thru heck since ultherapy. I know I need lower surgery now more than before. And I'm not convinced Now I ever needed a lower Jowel surgical intervention in first place. They fed off my slight insecurities as a woman showing minor aging. I feel stupid Trusting my provider who assured me this was non invasive. I figured at the worst just would show no different but NEVER dreamed I'd incur such damage from an ultherapy session.

Admittedly I have a weak chin but my neck is tighter. Not sure it's worth what I paid yet. I have had no side effects at all really. I hope it my neck continues to tighten up and maybe my jowls get a little lift.

Thanks for the Ulthera review.
Do you think it was worth it money?
Perhaps its just a bad photo or bad lighting but to me your most recent photos appear more "jowly" and also your midface appears more flat and elongated?
Im not sure if i should get it done as its so expensive with no guaranteed results.

I believe Amber. So glad she is warning people. Brave and courageous are the best words to describe her.
[RS bleep] night actually describe yourself.

Now that she and others are stopping us to consider what these machines actually do, it makes total sense. They heat your skin from the inside out. If the setting is set to high or the machine is faulty for whatever reason, they fry you instead.

Maybe you work for Allergan?

WOW! What is your problem?
Can someone please get this abussive person out of Realself? Are you crazy? Why would you come here and start insulting people because they post their experience trying to help others? No one! Has to come in here and share their story good or bad, but they do it either to help others or to look for support. It is your prerogative to believe or not. That is your problem but you have no right to insult people, to call them fake or liars. It sounds like you are either crazy or you must work for the company who owns Ultherapy in which case, it only speaks very negatively of them. No laser or heating device machine such as ultherapy, thermage, fraxel, etc should ve used on people's faces. No one is saying that EVERYONE will have a bad result but many are getting them, people's faces are getting ruined. Othets love their results. Some see no difference. It is a gamble. Results are inconsistent and can damage people. I had Ulthetapy twice. I was happy with the first one even though there were some minor issues. Because I was happy, i did it again. And this second time it has caused me a lot of damage. Just like so many other women. Have a little heart and do not post insulting remarks to people that are going through a hard time. My God!! What kind of person are you?

Silly cat girl, if all these accounts you name had the same IP, the intelligent people that manage this website would have noted that by now, but go figure, we are all different people.

You are welcome and Thank you! You are helping a lot of people!
Its just strikes me funny that some people get so offended by well warranted criticisms of this or other procedures. They take it so personal , as if their religion is being attacked or a loved one. Just strange to me.

Melissa- if you are thinking about ultherapy, I wouldn't encourage it, my results have been less than stellar and it costs too much for what u end up with - wish I had known.

Aloha, I had Dr. tell me he did Ultherapy but then it turned into Athena he also did fillers & botox! I quit Botox as my body was not doing well breaking down the toxin plus I was getting odd looking like temple hollowing weird lumps I did this for about a year with him, I spent oh about $12,000 in about 6 months, I looked worse when looking back I looked pretty good before, anyways I think this Ultherapy is a hoax but if it works for people mentally GO for it! My point is I had to fix the damage & I am more than thrilled with the results, I am about the same age as you. I really could not stand looking at myself in the mirror I asked this particular PS if I needed to lift my jowls and cheeks as I as was drooping now, my jowls got worse with whatever he called it that week but of course his fix all was lets put botox there then filler I was like UGH another $3,000 so I said nope it needs to be fixed and fixed for a long time years! So I did & it is amazing, I had a few other things done while I as at it but it fixed my cheeks & my jowls it was night & day 2 days after the surgery I was blown away & guess what I didn't have to wait 2 months it was instant, it was surgery but if you look at the pictures you will see. Dr Peterson on Oahu, oh I live in Maui but anyways my PS took one look & said this will fix it! I was so excited I still am just because it feels so good not to have to hide all the weird side effects of the crazy things I was letting this other PS tell me, check out what is called an SMAS mini, its more for the jowls & cheeks it tightens the muscle so its long term, my beginning of jowls was the end I could not take it but they are fixed not full of filler or a frozen muscle from Botox, I really think it would be great for you my left side looked just like your right side but not anymore! It was pretty reasonable as well! Hope this helps, I apologize if I am being too nosey but I wish someone would have written to me before I spent all the money I did on worthless procedures expensive procedures at that!
Best of luck

I really appreciate your comment and suggestion. I am considering fillers in the 28th, thats another $1200 and I am still a bit afraid of surgery being drastic and costly and painful and risky. If the fillers don't do what I want then I will stop spending money on surgical alternatives and try to work up the nerve to find a good surgeon somewhere in this region and also I need to find the time to take off for recovery. I'm a single parent and all of this is just hard to fit Into my lifestyle and all I'm trying to do is look my best. I know being healthy and growing old gracefully is a blessing but it's so hard to see the changes on your face and body. If you or anyone can recommend a top notch surgeon in my area (Memphis tn) I'd love to That. I appreciate everyone's comments and hope I have helped by posting pics of my progress.
December 12, 2015
Hi. If you can, try to wait until you hit 6 months before putting any fillers. You most likely are still changing. What is the filler migrates because of the changes or you continue loosing volume and then looks weird. Wait a few months.
User Avatar
December 12, 2015
Thanks for saying that. I don't want to do anything to make me look weird or lumpy.
December 12, 2015
Try things like vitamins. c, Bs and D. And maybe PRP and red led light in the meantime until you stop changing. Good luck! I am going through changes as well.

Ok I see that webpage. Looks like there's only 2 places in Memphis that do PRP. I just posted an ask the dr question and put my pics up to see what a dr would think of my results and what is a good idea to do like wait til it's been 6 mos or do fillers or do PRP. I really appreciate your info.
December 12, 2015
Your welcome. I went to an anti-aging regenerative specialist. He thought is was the only thing in the meantime to try regenerate some. Not as a filler but for the regenerative effects. Plus vitamin c and Bs intravenous. Collagen rich foods. And really wait right now. Once it all stops. Might do fat transfer with stem cell. But for now, thr growth factors are my best bet. Hope that helped.
