My double procedure is in 15 days with Dr Carmen Munteanu from Doncaster Melbourne. I enquired as an interstate patient. My first impression of Dr Carmen and her staff, particularly Denise who has gone over and above to facilitate appointments around airline and travel times has been excellent. Dr Carmen is extremely professional and was able to explain how she could help with my body contouring following my weight loss journey of 11 years.
After 4 children and poor lifestyle choices I was very heavy. Having lost 37 kgs my body needs a little help. I have previously had a tummy tuck and now need more work around the lower back and legs/thighs.
I am excited and scared of such large surgery all at the same time. Will keep updated.

Surgery day

Today is surgery day. I have mixed emotions from wanting to get on with it to not wanting to deal with the pain afterwards, and the long recovery. In 2 hrs it begins.
I had my pre-op consult yesterday which went very well and answered all my questions. Now to continue on the journey of removing all this excess skin and fat. Wish me luck.

It’s Day One today and it is very difficult. Body is very swollen. I have walked only to bathroom which was a huge effort. They tell me tomorrow will be better.

I have been out of hospital 2 days now and at a hotel. I am constantly wearing compression garments and taking my painkillers on time and getting plenty of sleep. I have not ventured out as want to heal. Incisions are clean and tight. Leg swelling is still evident, ice and compression are crucial.Below are my pics Day 6

Looking good Angela! Go you!! Sounds like you've got everything covered. On a scale of 1 - 10 how's your pain? Hope you have someone with you to assist and keep you company. I live in Melbourne so if you need somebody to talk to or if I can help in any way, email me.
Were incisions closed using staples or stitched?
Keep healing well honey

Hi Angela, hadn't seen your messages from 12 June, they didn't show up for some reason. It's lovely that you had your daughter with you and you're most likely in the comfort of your own home now. Hope the flight wasn't too difficult for you. Yes yes I definitely am thinking of surgery! Hmm now how to find your email, thought it came up with profile...I'll send you a direct message through Real Self.

Are you back scars considerably higher? I just had this done and honestly was shocked at how high the scars go on either butt cheek...

I’m not sure if you can tell by photos but I’m not too concerned. I’d much rather have no bum roll than worry about a scar that will eventually fade to a thin white line.
