I have been researching this procedure for a while...

I have been researching this procedure for a while. I have tried diet and exercise but found it hard to get rid of excess fat deposits around my abdomen, chest and sides (love handles). I ummed and ahhed about having this procedure for a while and almost decided not to. I had this debate raging in my head about whether I should be able to 'accept my body the way it is' or whether I should try and meet half way (i.e. a cosmetic procedure, exercise and self-acceptance). Glad I chose the last option.
Anyway, I actually saw another doctor for a consultation in Dec 2015. I booked a procedure and made a small deposit but something didn't feel right. For starters his office was really messy and the secretary seemed really disorganised. She would never call back and I would often have to chase them up a few times to get an answer. So in the end I trusted my gut and pulled the pin on that doctor (and let the $500 go).
Around April 2016 I went to see Dr Bloom at ARC. What a different experience...The whole place looks like some office from the future where everyone is nicer and better looking than you are. At times I thought it may have actually just been one of those offices from a stock photography website, I half expected to walk past a room full of models pointing at generic pie charts, nodding agreeably.
My fears that this was all make believe disappeared when I met Dr Bloom - very switched on, nice dude. He drew on me with a texta and I left feeling pretty good about everything.
Due to work I didn't have the op until November. If you have the option, have it at Linley Clinic where I had mine. Doesn't feel too 'hospitally' and, because they do a lot of cosmetic procedures I didn't feel weird or judged or out of place. The perfect mix of warm and clinical.
Anyway, needless to say that all went smoothly. The results where immediately noticeable but then - over the next few weeks - I did get a lot of swelling. I began to worry at about 3 weeks in that my results where not going to be as I wanted but at around 5 weeks I really started to see and feel a big difference. On reflection I think Dr Bloom took the perfect amount of fat....as everything settles down it is becoming impossible to tell I have had any procedure.
Anyway - on to the good bit!
I just got back from a holiday where - amongst other things - I went swimming at Bondi Beach. At Christmas. With thousands of people around. I don't have a perfect body but I know that - because of Dr Blooms skill - I am now comfortable in my own skin. I could go swimming and not feel like everyone was looking at me. I felt 90% free of the self-consciousness and embarrassment. For me you can't put a price on this - I've struggled with it since I was a teenager. I may not win any Mr Olympia contests but that wasn't the point of the exercise. I feel free and happy for the first time in ages.
The only other thing worth adding is that you often hear people saying that getting Lipo tipped them over to a place where they felt inspired to exercise more. I have found this to be true. Now that I feel like the playing feel is level, I feel like I am eating healthier and exercising more - partly because I can see the results.

Hi and great to read your review... I'm 20 days post extended tummy tuck and check reduction after losing 100lbs in the gym - massive improvement although concerned about the swelling not going down too much... how did you find this changed over weeeks 3/6/10 for example?

Hi Simon. Yes definitely keeps getting better and better but 6 weeks was when I noticed the big difference. Congrats on the weight loss man. My advice is to hang in there for the 6 week mark. I was surprised
