Hello! I am new to real self and am excited to share my journey with everyone. After thinking about getting butt implants for six months, I have finally decided to go for it. I will be traveling overseas to Medellín, Colombia have surgery February 17th with Dr. Juan Diego Mejia. The surgery will consist of implants and liposuction from stomach and back. I have read great reviews about him. Its very scary to travel oversees alone but I believe it will be worth it. My butt isn't totally flat, but for my wedding in August 2017 I would love to have a nice backside in my dress!

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery and wedding! I too am planning to travel overseas for surgery with Dr Mejia... I'm also very nervous and will be traveling from Texas alone... I'm interested in buttock implants and would like to have a revision to replace my breast implants? I just an not sure how I would be able to lay on my stomach for several weeks waiting on buttock incision to heal with new breast implants too? Are you planning to use the morphine pain pump or pain ball at I have heard it referred to? Have you been communicating with Dr Mejia personally about your upcoming surgery? Sorry to ask so many questions

Hello! And thank you! I am very excited. I think you will be fine. He would not have allowed you to do both if the recovery of one got in the way of the other. I haven't spoken to him about the specifics but based on reviews, I will trust his judgement during the consultation. We have spoken and he seems like a very good doctor. What days are u going? I have seen posts from other people who did breast and butt at the same time and they were fine.

He is amazing. I had surgery with him 3 months ago and I'm very happy with the results and my overall experience with him. You are going to love it. I was super excited and stress at the beginning since this was my first time in Colombia. Any questions feel free to contact me

I am thinking of schedule butt implants with Dr. Mejia too. I have gone back and forth between Dr. Mejia and Dr. Stanton. I'm super nervous about flying Medellin, CO too! I speak zero Spanish and would be traveling alone. How long will you being staying for your recovery? Where are you flying from? I was thinking of staying at the Tranquility house too. I've also ready many positive things about them and it looks like they serve healthy meals. I'm so excited for you!!! My only concern is what type of implant does he use and will they feel and move natural??

Hey I'm going to mejia in a month. DR a lot of death stories none in Columbia .. if you wanna do teeth boobs and ass go to Columbia, states will cost like 20k atleast.

I head Colombia is more clean and up to date with the clinics and doctor. I'm also interested in going to dr. Mejia for butt implants and also want teeth but have no idea who is out there for that procedure. I've heard almost everyone who's gotten a bbl say they loose the volume/ fat in a year so it's a waste of money. I want a more permanent fit look therefore going for implants! When are you planing to have surgery?

I have been wanting to get my butt aug with mejia for months now also , I got my quote and I'm really wanting to do it but I have to convince my husband!! He thinks I'm crazy as hell to want to do this in another country but most people believe this because they only hear what they want and that is what the media wants you to believe that it's a bad idea and they aren't even busing the right implants or they aren't even plastic surgeons the list of things is so long and ridiculous. Every one of the things that people are so worried about happen everyday in the USA also!! I have done a lot of research and look through so many reviews and pictures . If I was independently wealthy I might go with Stanton but not his new implants that he designed , I have seen Alot of disappointed reviews of women that got these. There is also a female dr. In Ohio (maybe) dr Gawkins? She is very good also but for the price and he will do things that the dr's here will not like softer implant , and he will do my Breast revision and butt together which would take two times under anesthesia here! I'm also considering adding a minor labia plastics . After kids it's still pretty much the same but my inner lip on one side is alittle bigger than then the other so I would like to correct that and I ripped three times each time I gave birth, so I want to Fix anything that could have been damaged or scar tissue if any ! I think that this is going to be the year that I finally take the plunge! So any advice would be so appreciated , also thanks for sharing your journey with us , looking forward to seeing your transformation!!

Hey my boyfriend thought I was crazy as well going to mejia because he is in another country. I just explained to him the price there compared to other doctors. Showed him like all the reviews on realself for mejia are from girls from the states and all the girls on his website are from his country I'm not sure but that's a lot of people he's worked on and everyone loves their work.. Just the fact so many other girls from Canada and US see him is good.. and showed him some pics before and after an I'm like hey that could be me!

Thanks for the support, I am hoping to be able to save for it by the end of the year! Fingers crossed, and I agree with you about all of the girls before and after pics with him all of them look great which I know means he is very good at what he does. I've seen soo many bad after pictures it's really scary and sad to think that someone paid for a doctor to do that to them , I believe that we will be in great hands with mejia and I can say this with confidence because I read every review I could lol

That's good it gives you a lot of time to prepare you the trip! In Canada there isn't like 1 surgeon who does the butt implants.. not that good. And with exchange rate is it's too expensive to go to the u.s! I'm so happy I found him. It's true they all have good reviews and results.
I looked on your profile but you don't have a review you should start one! I seen your question you ask the doctors about thinning face.. try some filler in the cheeks and under eye it makes everyone look younger and fresh! Or maybe vampire facial , a lot of good facials out there but filler has instant results!

Yes he may be in another country but he's carried American Board Certified and Grad from Harvard how could that go wrong! Look at his credentials . Whoever goes to him will be very happy ! He's very talented surgeon and very professional . Sadly for me I have to canceled my surgery with him due to the fact that he doesn't do Ab Etching to patients who previously had a tummy tuck! Some day I'll go to him for other procedures . You'll be very please with the result. All Colombian Docs are very talented well ways above American Docs. That's why we all are heading there not just because of the prices but the way they perform their procedures. I'm sure you all agree with me on this !

Hahaha! I do not speak any Spanish either! Get an audiobook from Amazon and you can learn at least a little Spanish! I am nervous too but worry it will be great. The Doctor knows what will be best for what you are looking to do. Anyway, keep me updated on your journey!

3 Days Post Operation
So sorry I have been so lazy updating my review. Recovery is tough for me. I had560cc and liposuction. Dr. Mejia is an absolute angel. I would not have changed a thing about coming to Colombia. I love my results so far. I grossly underestimated the pain of this surgery. I am such a baby and the staff at the tranquility center take such good care of me. Very tight and sore. Hopefully feel better soon.

Hey. What did you tell customs at the airport wen they ask why you are going there??? Did you say surgery or vacation?? And did you bring cash to pay for the surgery or pay with your credit card? I'm scared to bring cash there :-/ let me know please. Thank you

Hey! I told customs it was personal. They do not ask directly but on the form they give you, you do not have to be specific. I brought cash because I was scared someone might try to rip me off of my conversion here. I kept close eye on my wallet and paid at my first opportunity. Where are you staying ?

They always hassle me so much and want every detail. Must be cause I have a lot of tattoos I guess. I'm really nervous about bringing a lot of cash there but it seems like I'll do that because of the high conversion rate. Do you know if a Td debit card works there or just credit cards? And did you have anyone meet you at the airport or did you just go straight to where you are staying? I don't think my cellphone will have service when I get there so I'm pretty nervous about those things. I was gonna stay at tranquility but I've decided to get Airbnb close to the clinic and private nurse for 3 days. How many days did you need the nurse? Sorry for all the questions Hun lol

I think so...plus his recommendations for u may change and could change the price...potentially less. But if you are sure ask him for bank account info so u can transfer it without having to convert to pesos

To the debit card question...Yes it works! Today I went to the ATM with my debit card and it converted my dollars to pesos for me. Very easy to use. Also call your cellphone provider ahead of time and make sure u do have service here when you arrive.
It is my 3rd day and I still need a nurse, even though I am much more self sufficient. It's up to u though of course. Tranquility center is nice because they make all ur meals, administer all medications and make sure u r okay all the time and go to all your appointments. Just something to think about! I definitely think I need the nurse a few more days though at least.
