I am in my 50's now & decided to go to this particular Dr. for my first time ever to get my lines around my mouth freshened up. I feel after reading these reviews how important it is to let people know as I had what I felt an awful moment, I never thought about it but I was not asked if I was allergic to anything & at the time I did not know this but I am allergic to lidocaine. I was brought in to his room where he does his fillers I assume as I said my first time, I am asked to sign something but not quite sure but I had to prepay which I did, as Dr. Yu came into the room after I paid of course & not knowing this person very well I was very nervous. Being a man I was told women handle pain much better then men well that made me more nervous knowing this was going to hurt. He said we will numb the areas with Lidocaine, I was a bit relieved but this hurt as I was numbing my heart began to race he said relax your just nervous, he got one shot in of the filler & I felt like I was about to vomit Him & his nurse laughed as my head was spinning, I thought to myself I am having a full on panic attack. They just stood there I had to stop the pain & my heart beating out of my chest was enough to tell me to stop! I had go lay down in one of the rooms I felt awful.
I could not finish my filler $2,000.00 down the drain but one thing that did bother me most is no follow up call to make sure I was ok I walked out of Mr. Yu office without any of my money back no thank you actually he was with another patient as I left. I found out from another Dr. That I have a condition that makes me very sensitive to certain drugs & lidocaine is one of them. Perhaps this should be a question to patients it can't hurt to ask. Instead of assuming because I am a man that I cannot tolerate pain like a women & think its funny ask this question. Some people do not know & just asking can possibly save a life, this was why my heart was beating out of my chest, while my face turned gray not that I could not handle pain & why did it hurt so bad? The money is a small issue its my life that is important as well as other peoples.

I'm sorry you had a negative experience.  It sounds like you did not know you had a lidocaine allergy when you went in for this visit- is that right?  I'm not sure things would have gone differently if they had asked you if you weren't already aware of the allergy, but I'm surprised there was no follow up or concern regarding your reaction.  I would assume that since you already paid and didn't finish your treatment that you could go back and have the rest of the restylane injected (without lidocaine of course) but I get that you might not be interested in going back after your experience.

Hi there I have been doing research on Botox & have come across many very sad stories. I myself have been very sick & contribute many of my symptoms to Botox poisoning, if you read many of the reactions people are getting you will see that many people are VERY ill due to Botox. Your Dr. is suppossed to ask you if you have any underlying health issues number 1 and if so depending on what they are the Dr. will determine if Botox is safe for you. I understand that you maysign something but if your Fr does not ask these questions then it contradicts what you sign. I f you take any medications this also maynplay a role in the reason you had the reaction you had. People are now finding out that this is poison. Read some of the stories people have written about what is happening to them. Many have had reactions such as yourself, some people are unable to even get out of bed they are so sick, some people have become disabled . I think the botox poisoned you. I think you should let the Dr. know & perhaps make a report with the FDA. Good Luck
