I had a lifelong complex about my enormous...
WORTH IT$19,000
I had a lifelong complex about my enormous alien-like forehead... but didn't think anything could be done about it, so I suffered under a baseball cap most of my life. Then in my 40's, I started to get bags under my eyes. The forehead/eyebag combo was just not a good look.... so I started to research plastic surgery. After several consultations with several plastic surgeons, I decided Dr. Vogel was the doctor I felt most comfortable with. He spent a lot of time with me, and didn't rush or try to upsell me. So after going in originally for just the eyes, I discovered he does this hairline-lowering procedure. OMG, the answer to my prayers! YES! So I decided that day to just go ahead and get it all done.... eyes, eyebrows, forehead, face and neck. I made an appt. for August 2014, and here I am in October 2015 with a brand new, fully refreshed younger looking 49 year old face. I couldn't be happier and would do it again in a heartbeat. Just wish I did this 20 years ago...
The procedure was easy, I never felt any pain. Ever. Even recovery was a breeze. Although a year and 2 months after my procedures, I still can't feel the top of my head. I am used to it now, but there still may be a chance the feeling can come back. A small price to pay for such amazing results. For those people who have not experienced the horrors of living with an ugly forehead, the fact I can now wear my hair off my face makes it all worth it. No more spending hours to get my bangs 'just right' and I no longer fear going to the salon and leaning back in the sink with my fossil head exposed. This has truly changed my life.

You certainly had a wonderful surgeon!! Can't wait for mine, counting the minutes! Did you have to wear bangs for a while to cover up the sutures?

Yes, I also had to make sure I kept the sun off, or it would have healed very red. Can't wait to see your results...I am excited for you!

Finally done!! The doctor was afraid he wouldn't be able to lower my hairline more than 1 cm but he was able to take off an inch!! I am so pleased, but have been in much pain. I little better this evening but a few very long days!! Did you have much pain?

Omg, the after pictures already look fantastic! And you look way too happy...lol. I had zero pain... never felt a thing. I even remember walking from the operating room to the recovery room. I only had some tightness around my neck, that was it. But for all the things that were done to my head...I was amazed that I never had take any pain meds. I have to say, you already look 20 years younger! I can't wait to see the end result.

Your results are extraordinary. Did you lose the hair around your hairline weeks after you got your procedure done? And do you notice any difference in the texture or thickness in your hair? Specifically the new hairs growing in?

I didn't really notice any hair loss, not any more than usual. My hairline was shaved for the procedure, so my hair was looking pretty bad for quite a while. The baby hairs growing in are normal in texture.

Thank you for your response and your new photos. Your recovery is amazing. I have a high forehead and would love to lower it. My question to you... Did your family or friends notice? Did they ask you questions why you look so different? You are wearing your hair off your forehead now, did anyone make a comment? I'm known for my high forehead and am worried what people will say if I look so different.

It has never been a secret how much I hated my forehead....I have no problems telling anyone about what procedures I've had. In fact, I am so proud of the dr's work I practically tell everyone, I am not ashamed. And the oddest comments I hear are 'I never even noticed your forehead'.... ha, right!

You look absolutely gorgeous!! I'm so happy for you:) I'm 34 and contemplating the hairline lowering and brow lift procedure. I'm happy with the way I look WITH bangs;) But it would be so freeing to someday wear my hair off my face!! Your results are so impressive. Thank you for sharing and giving me the courage to go through with this;) Quick question....are you thrilled you opted for the brow lift? Did it smooth out your lines (your forehead looks great in the pics)? Are you able to scrunch your forehead and lift your eyebrows the same as before? Thanks so much for the info!!

Also did a family or friend stay with you the night of the surgery? My husband us very unsupported as he feels I'm beautiful exactly as I am. But I really want to do this!! Thanks for your insight;)

I am so thrilled with the results, just to be able to do my hair in 5 minutes is amazing! And I am very happy I did the brow lift. I don't have any lines, and I can still raise my eyebrows up and down. Was very numb for a few months, but it is just about back to normal.

Sorry your husband is unsupportive... maybe a friend can come with you? Or stay in an aftercare facility? Your husband is probably just trying to tell you he loves you no matter what :)

I second the OPs recommendation for this surgery --- I also needed a browlift in my 30s and opted for this type (trichotypic) where hairline was lowered. Surgeon also used the same incision to do a cheeklift aka mid face lift so a lot of "mileage" from one surgery. That was 10+ years ago, very invasive surgery but lasting long-term results IMHO. Many surgeons had recommended an endoscopic browlift or temporal browlift but those types can not lower the hairline and change face shape. I have dense dark hair on white scalp and using hair transplants to lower the hairline would not have given a good thick result like the scalp advancement did.

2 years later...
After 2 years, the top of my head towards the front is still numb. But it really doesn't bother me. Sometimes I get bad itching spells from the nerves coming back. But I am very happy with results. Would do it again in a heartbeat!!!

Amazing results!
I am very anxious as i am getting a forehead reduction, vertex burred down and aesthetic balancing as i have a very bumpy and large head. I get it done it about a week and half.
I am more nervous about the scar as i am going away for a holiday 2 months post op and don't want a crazy visible scar.
This gives me a little bit of hope, when were you comfortable with going out into public and going back to work?

Gorgeous results! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. What was your recovery like? Do you know how long you were under anesthesia?
