ONE YEAR LATER (1/19/17 ) 2nd Lipo Surgery Dr. Wix-Harris ($2K Reflections Martinsville, NJ)
Will update when i see further results!
3 Months Post-Op cont.
3 Months Post-Op
I went to my 3 month appointment today. Once again i didn't see the doctor and the appointment was very rushed. They seemed to only want to take pics of me and then rush me out. I was surprised that the woman seeing me didn't know it was my 3 month post-op visit and kept calling it my 1 month. When i asked what my pre-op weight was and if i could keep the pictures that the office took, i was met with some resistance. These post-op visits are very impersonal. All the enthusiasm and motivation they had at the pre-op visits is gone. I feel like once the surgery is done, they don't really care about the patient anymore. If you have any questions or concerns you really have to speak up and be very persistent to be heard. This was my last lipo appointment included in my package. Since everything went well i won't need to go back.
CONCLUSION AT 3 MONTHS:
I am very satisfied with my results. I think the lipo helped contour my body into a nicer shape. The lipo definetely didn't make me lose weight; it just changed my profile into an hourglass shape with a flatter stomach (which is what i was told to expect). From the front i can see the hourglass shape, but from the side you can still see a small round belly. As i lost weight from cardio and dieting i slimmed down into the frame Dr. Chasin made. I wonder if i had lost all this weight before i got lipo, would my stomach be totally flat or my results look more dramatic? There is no way to know now, but i have no regrets! I think Dr. Chasin gave me the results i wanted, but not the experience i wanted.
Provider Review
Reflections Center for Skin and Body in Livingston and Martinsville, NJ. CONSULTATION AND PRE-OP: PROS: So far i have meet Dr. Mitchell Chasin and his staff twice, once at the free lipo consultation and once at the pre-op visit. I love him and his staff. The offices in Livingston and Martinsville look like a spa getaway; i never once felt like i was in a scary doctor's office. Everyone is friendly, professional, and take the time to answer all your questions. No one rushes you and no unrealistic promises are made. His staff go the extra mile to take care of you and are always accessible if you need to change appointment times. They were accommodating to both my mother and myself during the pre-op visit and were able to satisfy all of our inquiries and the craziness that comes with a mother/daughter doctor visit. CONS: The only negative thing i can say about my experience so far was that the front desk secretary loudly announced the amount she was charging to my credit card out so everyone could hear, including my mother. I think finances should be kept private and the bill clearly stated the amount i was paying so i'm a little upset. She may have been legally required to verbally confirm the amount or didn't realize how loud she spoke, i don't know. POST-OP UPDATE: Pros: Dr. Chasin was very thorough during my liposuction and he listened to my concerns while he worked. He talked to me throughout the procedure and took the extra time needed to make sure my lipo was perfect even though it may have made him late for his next appointment. Cons: After my lipo i was escorted to a patient room to rest, but was left alone for some time. I felt very nauseous and weak. I don't think a patient should be left alone directly after surgery and i had a hard time finding someone to assist me as the next patient was already with Dr. Chasin in the lipo room. Also during my surgery Dr. Chasin admitted he knew beforehand that i had dense fat and my procedure wouldn't involve laser lipo. I didn't know i would be receiving a different technique involving vibrations to break up fat. I felt the procedure was very painful and i should have been informed beforehand and also given better numbing during the procedure. I wouldn't go through with this procedure again. Also on the day of my surgery i was informed that they didn't have the compression garment in my size, the music was broken so i couldn't listen to the music of my choice, and they threw away my fat without showing it to me or letting me take a pic. I had to ask an assistant to take it out of the trash for me. I felt a little mislead as to what my surgical experience was going to be like. I was told to expect pleasant music, plenty of numbing solution, a fat melting laser, to watch the fat being sucked out of me into a container painlessly, and someone to be with me every step of the way. Instead i found myself holding someone's hand while i moaned in pain during the lipo. I will have to see if this was all worth it before i rate Dr. Chasin.
