1 month in!

Well, I cant beleive I waited this long to try this medication. It is a miracle worker!!! I can live with dry lips and dryness inside my nose! I have NO new acne! What was existing, is almost gone as well. I have alot of scarring, that I will be searching for a way to get rid of. So if anyone has any input in that, I would be grateful if you would share! The rest is scarring. I am FINALLY able to go to work with no foundation on my skin! I love it!

This is the first time I have ever been to Dermatology, and I have to say, I had a great experience. She not only addressed my acne, but she checked my moles and the rest of my overall skin health. very happy with her!

Hi there! We would love an update from you. :)

Day 15 (2 weeks in)

Hi everyone! These past 2 weeks have really proved to me how much I really needed to start Isotretinoin. I had 1 bad headache, not sure if its related. I am one of the few that get a bad IB (initial breakout). About 3 days in, all my acne came to surface. And they are deep and painful. However, today I notice they are starting to go away. I am assuming this is going to be the beginning of clear skin! One thing I have to note, and maybe its the OCD kicking in, the packaging that they put the pills in, is ridiculous! It takes like 2 mins to get the pill out of the foil! which doesnt seem long, but it is when you are trying to rush out the door for work ;)

SIDE EFFECTS
1 headache
DRY DRY DRY lips. Please, if you are going to start this medication, please purchase multiple lip moisturizers, and dont skimp! ChapStick doesn't cut it! I have been using Q Body Intense Lip Therapy Balm. It is really thick and awesome! I can put it on before I go to bed and my lips will still feel like I have moisturizer on them when I wake up. At first I only had 1 of these, and I left it at work one day, and almost cried because I didnt have it before bed. (I know, crazy.)
Inflamed Skin: My skin feels inflamed, but mostly because its changing so much. Nothing I'm too worried about.

Other reviewers are correct, your hair doesnt produce any grease. And that is awesome! I hate washing my hair. So now I really dont have too! ;)
Well I will update again soon! Take care all!

give Dr. Dan's Cortisone lip balm on Amazon a look. I purchased it for my husband who took Accutane back in the 90's and has had leftover dry lips ever since. My husband claims it is the only thing that has ever really worked for him, so I bought it for myself preemptively. ( I finally get my prescription today!)

Day 2

I know I said I would update once a week, or as needed, and this is an AS NEEDED day. Its only 11:30 am and I have a terrible headache today. I am a migraine sufferer, so I am not sure if its related. I am lucky to work in a quiet atmosphere. I have taken an Excedrin migraine to hopefully take the edge off. I can deal with a headache here and there, but I'm really praying its not everyday for the next 5 months. TGIF right?!

Sorry to hear that, be sure to let your doctor know and keep hydrated. Here is some information that you might find helpful:

I'm on Accutane and I Get Really Bad Head Aches. What Kind of Medicine Could I Take to Help with That?

Should I Be Worried About the Headaches I'm Having on Accutane?

thanks for the articles! I did call my doctor and she said to monitor the headaches. If I were to get them for days at a time, she is going to pull me off the drug. However, it lasted for one day. thankfully!
I had them too at first but keep drinking water you will feel better! Good Luck!
