Decided to write a review because I had a difficult time finding reviews for a tummy tuck without muscle repair. I am one week out...So here is my story.
I have lost 70 pounds and have been able to keep it off for four years. My concern has been my tummy. No amount of exercise has helped. Love any form of work out but hate how my stomach jiggles when I do it. It has made me very self conscience and cannot wear any right fitting shirts when working out. So I finally decided to do something about it. I scheduled my first consultation with a plastic surgeon.
It went well. He answers all my questions and concerns. He explained the risks and benefits. Once he examined me he recommended a modified tummy tuck. What that means is that he would still make a hip to hip cut but would not repair my muscles. He said they were tight enough and would not make a difference if he did. It would just be more painful, longer recovery and cost more. I was very exited to hear that but would need to discuss it with my husband before committing to anything.
I was a little bit concerned about not having my muscles repaired as my friends said that I should. This site also suggested that most tummy tucks require muscle repair especially if you have had a child. So I decided to get a second opinion.
This doctor was extremely nice as well. Once he examined me he told me the same thing. I did not need to have muscle repair. I was so happy. Now I had to decided what doctor. I chose the first because I felt more comfortable with him and he does drainless surgeries. I scheduled my surgery for January 26.
Had my pre op two weeks before and made my finally payment. I am having a tummy tuck with no muscle repair and Lipo to the flanks.
The day of surgery came....I was at the office by 630 in surgery by 730, done by 1030 and home before noon.
Waking up I was in a lot of pain. I really don't remember much from once I woke up to getting home. I know I was extremely tired. I did not get nauseous. I slept most of the day but did get up every hour to walk and take my medication when scheduled.
I drank a lot of water. I blended pineapple, aloe with water to help healing, swelling and constipation. This definitely helped. I know for me taking pain medication would constipated me. I did not want to go more than three days without having a bowel movement. Drinking the water and taking a stool softener helped me go two days later. Ever since then I have been regular.
Everyday is easier. I felt that the most pain came from the bruises I got on my sides from the Lipo. Every time I put any type of pressure it would hurt. I was able to sleep most of the night which was amazing. What was hard about sleeping was that I was not able to move so it hurt my lower back causing me not to be able to stand up straight when I woke up. Even when I get up from the recliner I would start hunched over and as I walk I can straighten up.
It has been a week today and it has been easier than I expected. I did get a little irritation on my left hip because the binder kept bothering it. I have been covering it up and putting ointment to help heel it.
The binder is not ideal. It does not stay in place. I wear a t-shirt underneath to help but it doesn't do much.
I went to the doctor yesterday and he said it all looks good. I finally say my belly button. I think it will heel nicely. Still swollen all over but overall very happy with my results. I have been off a week and plan on going to the office tomorrow for a little while. I need some work. I am getting tired of doing nothing. I will try to continue to post updates with pics. Happy healing to all.

Trying to stay positive

Recovery these past two weeks has gone well. I am not in a lot of pain and I have stopped taking Percocet around day 4. I am just taking over the counter pain pills.
I have gone back to work. That has been going well. I tend to get tired a lot easier so by the time I get home I am ready for bed. Good thing I have an amazing husband that helps out a lot.
Sleeping is well i sleep through the night on my bed with pillow all around me.
My results....I know I am very swollen and it will take months to determine what it will look like. But at time I feel that not enough Lipo was done on my flanks. When I put my jeans ( hardly fit) I have a little muffin top. I hope that it goes away. Somehow I feel that I should not have a muffin top at all. Trying to remember it's still early in recovery.
Well that's all for now. Happy healing to all.

A little concerned
MetimemetimeFebruary 14, 2016
Well I am 19 days out. I see the doctor tomorrow and I am looking forward to seeing his thoughts on my concerns. I look really good when I am standing up as you will see in my pic but when I bend over I do t look so good. One of the things I hated before surgery was seeng my skin hang down. Today even though I don't have skin hanging in my lower abdomen you do see it in my upper abdomen. Is this normal? Or did he not pull me tight enough?? Or is it I don't have elasticity in my skin? Can this be fixed?? So many questions that I don't know the answer to.
Overall I have been feeling good. I don't really take any pain medication anymore. I get tired still and hope that changes in time. I am still very swollen and as the day goes it gets worse. That too will change in time.
I will keep you all posted as to what the doc says.
Happy healing

These results look amazing! I am not sure what your expectations are but given the flatness and womanly curves you ended up with, in addition to the smooth recovery, you're doing magnificently (in my opinion).

Overall I am happy. I just did not expect to see skin hanging when I bend over as well as when I wear jeans or any type of pants. I still get a muffin top and I thought lipo on the flanks would of corrected that. I know I am still early and swollen so that might change in time but I am not completely sure.
