I have experience with fillers (Restylane, Juvederm, Sculptra, Voluma, Radiesse) over the course of the last 5 years. Some have been effective, others not (Sculptra). I have had some major bruising (Radiesse and Juvederm) and some "invisible" treatments (Perlane). My Perlane injections to my cheeks were done yesterday (one half a syringe in each cheek) and were combined with some Belotero in the "laugh lines" at the sides of my mouth. The after photos were taken today (24 hours after the treatment) and I am not wearing any makeup. There are no bruises although I am still feeling some swelling and tightness in my cheeks. I am really happy with the results and hope that they DO last longer than Restylane. It's great to be 63 when you look as great as your 45 year-old friends!

I'm also 63 and just had Perlane injected in my checks today. Had only had a filler (I think it was Radiesse) put in 5 years ago. It was done in a Dermatologist office by a Nurse Practioner and the salesperson for the product. I bruised horribly that time...took at least a week for the bruises to turn to yellow and disappear. Today was a different story. Not only a different office, but this time the doctor injected the Perlane. I have a tiny bit of swelling and a barely noticable bruise on one check. I only got a total of 2ml and it was enough to "lift" my checks enough to make the folds between my nose -mouth less noticable. So far, I'm super happy and especially with the aspect of it lasting much longer.

You look fabulous! I had Perlane injected into my cheeks 3 days ago (15 January 15) and experienced extreme swelling in the mid-face area and bruising and swelling under my eyes. I've had Juvéderm injected into my cheeks previously without much ill effect but this time (with Perlane) it's a disaster! I just hope I won't look like this permanently. I went back to the doctor's office the following day and was assured that product placement was correct. The doctor did some (extremely painful) deep massage and arguably that has made everything worse.
