Well, I am cleared to proceed with my active lifestyle, as long as I ease back into it. Guess this doesn't mean falling on my behind and hitting the pavement with my elbow when my dog tripped me from behind this morning! Ouch! No harm done. I haven't taken pics yet but will, I promise. I feel a little self-conscious not having the shelf chest anymore. I can wear scarves that don't hit my chin because my boobs were too big and my skinny shirts look a lot better. Plus, at yoga the other day, I did cobra and my chest felt awesome, not having those grapefruits hitting my ribs! All in all, I am doing well. My whole experience has been a positive one. Dr. Walden and staff are so professional as are the people at the HCMH Marble Falls surgical clinic.. I cannot say enough about good things about them. Yes, I am flatter but I feel so good! Thanks to all the posts that were so enlightening and helpful to me as I mulled over the decision. I appreciate you all very much!

Sutures out!
My 1 week (8 days, actually) follow up was yesterday. All is well. Sutures were taken out and some steristrips were placed on the uppermost incisions but the bottom lines didn't need any. She checked my lipo areas out for fluid pockets but there were none. I am still pretty swollen in the waist/hip area. Otherwise, I am so happy to be doing so well. I finished up the antibiotics so the nausea is much better today. I think the Keflex caused GI upset in that I have apthus ulcers on my tongue and a sore throat. Chugging the probiotics and some vitamin C warm drinks to soothe things down a bit. I am one happy camper at this point. I am cleared for walking but she wants me to stay off the bike and running till she sees me again in 2 weeks. I will post a pic when I have less bruising and the strips are gone. They are symmetrical, full enough and certainly less cumbersome to carry around. Plus, they are all me! No more foreign bodies in my chest!

So glad things are going so well for you. It is amazing isn t it how good it feels to be your natural self... Two ore days and I graduate from a sport bra to a regular bra and I can start exercising...so excited. Take good care of yourself the improvements just keep coming. God bless you!
Thanks for your comment! I am glad you can switch to a regular bra. Because of the reconstruction, a regular bra has not been a comfortable option for me for 9 yrs. I love the stretchy ones that you pull on. I also found a cami that is shapewear and take the place of a bra that is so comfortable I can ride 30 miles in it with no problem. Better that the famous ones, too. These are from Ruby Ribbon. How long before you can exercise? I am getting anxious to get on the road again! Patience is the best thing, though!
My ps said I could start exercising Monday, which is 3 1/2 weeks since a surgery. I am going to start doing some weights and use my excercise bike. I can only fo
My walking is limited as I have osteoarthritis of my knees. I love these sports bras, they are so comfortable! Take care!

Day 3
Today, I actually feel like the anesthesia fog is lifting, although I am a little nauseated. 7Up an saltine crackers seem to help. I took my first shower and it felt really good to wash my hair. Still not ready to run any foot races but I am suppose to be taking it easy, anyway. My poor boobies are pretty sad looking. The PS said we could go in and add more fat grafting later if they were not to my liking but I had told her to begin with that size and aesthetics were not the priority. I like the way my t-shirt fit this morning. I have breast bumps instead of concave spots and that's a good thing. The lipo pain is subsiding pretty quickly now but it is still tender when I pull up the compression garment to hold everything in place. It's okay once I get it on, though. I am still pretty wiped out so I think I should take a nap. Stay tuned. Not ready to take pics yet as they look like 40 miles of bad road.

Oh, and drains are out! Big Whoop!
Don't get discouraged... You need lots of rest and papering right now... The new you needs getting use to. I am at 16 days and still taking it easy... And adjusting to the new me... So glad to be al natural... They say it takes 6 weeks to be at the final state of healing . God bless you and soft Hugs!
Thanks for your comments. I am a patient person and compared to the original breast reconstruction, this recovery is a piece of cake! I think the big hurdle is getting this anesthesia out of my system. I keep having waves of nausea and my appetite is not that good. My puppies are being especially attentive so that's kind of cute. Except that pup wants to poke my very tender belly with his pointy little nose. Not fun! I have to barricade myself from his onslaught. LOL!
Did they give you a prescription for an anti nausea patch. My ps gave me one that I put on the nite before surgery and I had no nausea at all. I was surprised it worked so well. Sorry you are having that problem....hope you get to felling better very soon. I have dogs also and they were concerned but too rambunctious.... Take care and hang in there better days are on there wY!
I have a nausea pill but I don't want to take it. So far, plain crackers and 7 Up seem to help. I think it is from the antibiotics. I get better with each day and must say, the only pain I have now is an occasional twinge at lipo sites. I like the way my clothes fit and am so glad I had the explant!
Wonderful... I feel the same! I am going to my 19 day appt. anxious to see if I can do any exercising yet. Would also like to know when I can wear a regular bra.... I am adjusting to my new breast and really liking the change... Take care and God bless you!
Try ginger - excellent for nausea.
I am happy to learn of your progress and that you are feeling like getting back into the groove of exercising! I am not quite there yet(a week hasn't even gone by!) but I am chomping at the bit, as we Texans say, to get out on the road in my running shoes and see what it's like sans big boobs! I tried on my bicycle jerseys yesterday and love what I see! They were large size and still too snug before. I have those little bras that are one size fits all and are soft, no underwire but have little cookies for a bit of shape that should be quite okay for us post op folks to wear. That scar area where they took out the implant will be tender for awhile, I expect. Let me know what your doctor says. Take care! Hugs!
You are right! I had ginger chai tea and it helped . Thanks!!
Good! Be careful when you start your running. I skipped over to say hello to a friend at 4 weeks post-op and it was SO painful. Yikes!
Hi katlux, the doctor said I can exercise in one week and wear a regular bra..., even underwire... Yea! Can t wait to go bra shopping later. I hope your having a good day today. Each day gets you closer to full recovery... Take care...soft hugs.
I am having a great day! Glad to know you are free to move about your life! Happy bra shopping! Will be posting pics soon.
I'm glad to hear that you are mindful of the REST you need. You have been through a lot so take it easy. Everyone heals at different paces. I am almost at 6 weeks post explant and the stitches (at areola) are not yet healed and I was told by my PS up to 4 months for that. I see gradual improvements every day. So be kind to yourself and know that it will all come together. Let others pamper you as much as possible! Healing wishes your way!
Congrats on being on the other side!! You will be so happy you made the decision to remove your implants!! Such an amazing light feeling! I know what you mean about the sports bra, you'll love how it fits now, no boobs smashed up around your neck Yay!! In a couple of weeks you'll be looking and feeling great! Blessings!!
So anxious for that point in time to come. I am still achy where the lipo was done but am out and about doing a few errands today. Stitches are coming out in 3 days and that will be a relief. I am looking forward to a run without the bigguns!
