I have been searching for about 2 years for the perfect ethnic rhinoplasty surgeon that is still "affordable" and I think I may have found THE ONE!!! I am very excited to start sharing my story on RS as I never thought that would happen! I wanted to change my nose since I'm 15 probably!

Most recently, I have been following Dr. Oelbrandt in Belgium but communication from his team wasn't brilliant and I may have read a couple of bad reviews but the pros are that he is much closer to me than Dr. Yapjuangco...

So far, I have only sent out an email to his team from his website, I am awaiting a reply from them so I may have a clearer idea of the price range and may possibly book my surgery for September/October 2017 for 21 days.

Get in touch if you want to buddy up! I am already super excited because he has done the best work I have seen on African noses!

I've just started looking at this clinic for a rhinoplasty as well. I haven't had a consultation yet, but I'd love to buddy up with you. I was recently told that the clinic was closed due to an investigation of a death. I'm not sure if it's reopened. The death was related to multiple surgeries at once. Being a nurse, however, I can understand how this could occur. Fat embolisms are no joke. When people break their hips and have the repaired, it's one of the most serious risks. So imagine injecting fat back into the body, some of that fat many enter into the bloodstream and that, sadly, is one of he risks of BBLs. Oh well, let me know. If they don't cancel your procedure, they're back in business and I want in.

I was looking at Dr Oelbrandt (I can't post any links) but still deciding Tash.
I am still more interested in Dr Yap in the Philippines... but haven't heard back from his team yet. x

Hey, I have had my rhinoplasty done with Dr Yap, and a close friend of mine went to Dr. Oelbrandt.. Both with ethnic noses/ thick skin etc and honestly for me personally I am so unhappy with my nose and the lack of patient records. The amount of patients taken on is quite ridiculous and gives greater room for careless mistakes, I am currently waiting for my one year mark to get revision. I have an extremely uneven collumella from awful stitching and many of his patients will tell you the same, request images from below the nose angles and just a real bulky bulbous nose (more so then before). He has no files or reports so he nor I have no clue what he did to my face. My friend (also ethnic nose) who got her surgery done with Dr Oelbrandt and was really unhappy he gave her these random prominent dorsal lines and a 'pinched' look she got revision at the same clinic with Dr Noorman Van Der Dussen and is extremely happy and can not praise him enough for his professionalism! It may be worth contacting him as he is a lot closer and I just do not recommend flying to a surgeon who puts money above patient satisfaction. I dont believe he has a lot of reviews online as he makes patients sign a non disclosure form but I went with my friend for her revision and now I am also considering him :) My advice would be to ask for before/after pics with no filters make up and flattering angles post op if you choose to go ahead with Yappy. Images of collumella/ alar post op to see stitching and scarring.. Good luck girl, wish you all the best x

Wow, amazing advice! Thank you so much and really sorry to hear about your and your friend's experience. What a real shame!!!
It's been taking me ages to book anything as I hear so many different reviews from all these various Dr! I did look up M.F. Noorman Van Der Dussen's website and on RS but I will need to dig a little deeper for Before/After pictures.
I am pretty much set on Dr Yappy but will be asking for more pictures, you are right. Thank you! I'll keep you informed.
All the best!

You might be able to contact him for some before/afters.. I have pictures on my review from Yappy if it helps (although my after pictures are horrid) , there's also a handful of his patients in the comments that you can find and ask for first hand experiences and pics :) Yes, keep us updated and best of luck finding the perfect surgeon for you!

Postponing my surgery from November to December due to lack of communication

Dr Yapjuangco and his team have been fairly slow at replying to me so it took a lot longer than expected for me to book my surgery.
So, instead of November, I'm trying to book January... but still waiting for confirmation of dates from his team. So far, I am not impressed with the communication, which is super annoying and makes me think twice about choosing him. Makes me concerned about how they deal with after-care!
However, communication with my second choice Dr Rocelyn Ann Gannaban from Plastic Surgery Philippines has been much better but I am a little afraid as the medical exams pre-surgery just seem so basic:
Hopefully, I will be able to bring my best friend to look after me during this trip and take a tour in the neighbouring islands when I feel good enough to travel.
I'll keep you in the loop.
M xoxo

That sucks hun. Dr Yapjuangco is apparently fast on responding at first but really dodgy after you've booked your surgery or when he's secured the bag, atleast that's what I've read from the reviews online. He was my first choice too after seeing his work but the after-care reviews got me a bit hesitant because I'm all about doctors who are genuine to help you and not just about the money. Finding good cosmetic doctors in the Philippines is hard but if you dig deeper there are cosmetic forums online but they're in tagalog so I understand why it's a bit hard for other people. Do you have any other choice of doctor except him? Where did you find Dr Gannaban? I'm planning for a rhinoplasty too so I'm doing a lot of research on the internet .. Dr Alex Deleon from La Nouvelle Image is my choice for now.. He doesnt have a lot of reviews online but I found one from this girl and it looks amazing and convincing

I still havent tried contacting him though because I'm still trying to save up but I thought you might also be interested..

Search up 'thebaghag rhinoplasty' on google. She's done hers from Dr Deleon.. Her after surgery got me a bit convinced

Hello! I will have my surgery with Dr yappy in April.

Hi millylondon.. I'm sorry you had a slow response from your first option. If you still not sure about the two doctors and you want to consider other doctors please check Dr. Levi Lansangan at Dr. Shimmian clinic in ortigas Philippines . He is very quick in responding to inquiries and he is amazing and have great skills that deliver the great result when it comes to rhinoplasty. I did my research for long time and when i found Dr Levi Lansangan i did not regret with my decision to have rhinosplasty with. Besides he is a pioneer in goretex rhinoplasty. You can check his website and read his profile.. thank you and all the best for your beauty journey.

I recently turned 30 but still struggling to make a decision about my nose :(
Hopefully, April/May my spirits will be set right to take that step. Dr Yappy and team aren't easy to communicate with so will keep looking if things don't get smoother with Icon Clinic Philipines. Makes me seriously worried about aftercare...
Merry Christmas dolls!
