23/f, 135lbs, (R) 32a/b, (L) 32d
Procedure: breast symmetry correction
Incision: circumareolar
Implant: silicone (not sure brand)
Details: Left, small implant and donut lift to bring nipples even. Right, larger implant to balance symmetry.
Long time lurker here, but I guess it's time to join the family! I haven't seen any reviews that similar to my case, so hopefully this will help someone down the road.
Ever since I started to develop, I haven't been symmetrical. It got really severe by the time I was 15, when I first started wearing mastectomy prosthetics and having my bras tailored by Nordstrom to have a pocket for my breast form. I'm sure you ladies can imagine how hard this was as a teen. But I had to wait until I was totally grown to have cosmetic surgery.
The cause of my malformation is at least primarily caused by marked pectus excavatum. My chest wall slopes down on my right side, where my breast is also smaller by 1-1.5 cups.
I have done YEARS of research, which finally landed me with Dr. Adam Kolker in New York (I live in northern Virginia). My goal is to mask my chest wall defect where possible, but primarily even out my breasts to where I can wear normal bras (finally!!!!). I am planning on going a little bigger across the board to even out my frame. I definitely want to look natural. Not going for the fake boob look, just normal, please! Lol.
I go up February 15 to have a day or two with my boyfriend before I go under the knife. He will be there with me the whole time (

Ah how exciting, it's coming up so soon! I really believe you've chosen the perfect doctor to help treat the asymmetry (I'm obviously biased because I'm seeing Dr. Kolker too, but I think he's incredible at correcting unique conditions and not just increasing size). I think you'll have an AMAZING result - can't wait to see your updates!!

Thanks for posting. I just started my research about correcting my asymmetrical issue. Do you mind sharing how much this will cost you?

$14,000. It's really expensive to find someone who really specializes in chest wall deformities like mine. If your case isn't severe, you might be able to get away with someone cheaper. Good luck!

1 day pre
Surgery tomorrow!!
My boyfriend and I arrived in nyc yesterday. We're staying in an Airbnb in queens, about 25 minutes to the office.
Overall I'm really excited, but a little nervous too. I really hope my smaller breast will be able to expand enough to balance out the other and handle an increase. I'm just a little concerned. I know he's doing a donut lift to bring up my larger breast a little, too. I just want them to look natural and good and I want to be able to wear bras without a filler ok my smaller side.
I've been taking my homeopathic stuff (arnica Montana, vitamin c, b complex, and bromelain) as prescribed.
My in time us 10:30. The only thing I'm not a fan of is that when I shower for the last time before surgery tonight, I'm not allowed to moisturize my face or put in any hair product :[ buy it I think I figured out a hack for the face moisturizer. I'll just use an oil cleanser! Hopefully that's approved. Anyhow. Can you tell I'm nervous? I'm a little nervous!

Hope everything goes well! We have similar stories, I have a B-ish cup on my left and a DD on my right, I just met with my dr. On the 10th and I am getting an implant in my small girl and a reduction in my big one, plus a 3 inch lift in both. I look forward to hearing about your recovery and wish you the best!

Ahh this is so exciting!! You must be so nervous but thrilled about surgery tomorrow. It's normal to feel a little nervous I think, but I really believe you have nothing to worry about :) I'm very very eager to hear about how everything goes since I am also going to Dr. Kolker in early March so pleaseeeee keep us updated! It's going to be AMAZING, best of luck!

Day of treatment
It's the day!!
Since I couldn't eat or drink after midnight, I miiiiight have chugged water and Gatorade at 11:50, haha. Also, I was super not excited about not being able to use a face moisturizer, but I used an oil cleanser instead, and my face is very happy. Yaay!
Since I'm from out of state, we didn't have a pre op visit, so we're doing all that today. Signed all my forms. So I guess I'll get to play with sizers, too? I'm really not trying to go big at all. I just want symmetry and a slight increase in size to balance my frame a little. Regardless, I know he'll do a great job!

Your review was so helpful to me, so thank you so much for that! The only thing I'm really nervous about is the drains :/

February 17, 2016
Yeah, they were no fun but they come out in about a week :-)Most women don't have issues with them - unfortunately I was one that did because it was pressing on a nerve. I'm sure I was the exception and not the rule, because I haven't heard of any real issues with them at all, so don't be nervous!!
I'm so, so excited for you!!

I'm here waiting now. My in time was 10:15. I filled out some paperwork, but they haven't called me back since. One of the girls offered me coffee or water, but I laughed, I'm not allowed to have that! Lol. But damn I wanted that coffee! I'm exhausted. I barely slept since arriving two days ago!

February 17, 2016
You're lucky your surgery time is fairly early - mine was at 1pm and I was stressed because all I wanted was coffee and I couldn't have it!! lol
Where are you from? An RS friend of mine traveled here from Canada to have her surgery with Dr. K :-)

Wow! That's awesome! I'm from northern Virginia. About a 3/4 hour train ride. For all I know I won't be in before then! I've been here 30 minutes.

February 17, 2016
Wow, how long will you be staying in NY after your surgery? I'm assuming you'll be here at least long enough for your 1st post op visit to remove the drains? My Canada friend did that and then had her post-op's with him via e-mail and Skype (I think - it was some sort of video-chat thing lol)
I hope they take you in soon! Maybe he had another surgery that ran over...the good thing about him is that he won't rush - he takes his time to make sure everything comes out perfect! My surgery ran for 3 hours, which was longer than he had anticipated!

I'll be here till the 24th, then I go home. So hopefully the drains will be out within a week!

Congratulations on taking this step for yourself. It sounds like you've done thorough research to find the right doctor. Let us know how we can help support you throughout this process. I'm excited to see your updates.
