2.5 year update!

Best decision ever. My boobs are amazing. I have literally gained life changing confidence an now that I'm free from my prosthetic, I can wear any clothes I want. I changed careers, quickly climbed the ladder, bought a house, and am getting married this fall! See wedding dress try on pic attached :)
This girl is living her best life. Thank you, Dr. Kolker ????

Bad news bears

My left nipple never totally closed :( I know it looks pretty minor, just grumpy because I wanna be trying on all these new bras, but not when I'm oozing! Ugh. Maybe I did something when I left on day 7 instead of ten :/

I emailed my surgeon's office, but they're closed weekends. My other side looks great, and I know this looks super minor compared to other cases.

I can't tell if that black spot is a stitch or debris, so holding off on picking it off D: I really wanna try to clean it out, but I don't want to do more damage than good. Anyone else experience anything similar?

Two weeks!

So in love with my results. Better than I ever imagined possible.

Most of my steri strips on the left came off really easily today. Gonna start moisturizing with cocoa butter lotion tonight :) when the steri strips came off the scabs stayed, but lifted partially on their own, and I saw a peek of my scar. It's pencil sized! Excitedly waiting patiently for the scabs to fall off on their own. It's really amazing looking at right after surgery compared to today and how as the swelling on the left goes down, they just become more and more symmetrical. So happy.

No pain meds or anything. Still sleeping a LOT. knockout bra is way more comfortable now than at the beginning, too! I'm just so happy with how well and fast I've been healing.

I've been religious with continuing to take my healing vitamins (zinc, bromelain, arnica montana, b complex, and vitamin c) even though I HATE taking pills (got my b and c chewable cause I'm a baby), and I'll probably continue the vitamin c, zinc, b, and maybe bromelain(ick!) for a while yet even though at two weeks I'm allowed to stop. Can't hurt!

I've still been taking it really really easy. The nurse (shea) I talked to said I should probably hold off from driving my stick for another week :( but I kind of figured. Pulling that emergency brake up couldn't be fun yet. Still being careful opening and closing car doors. Boyfriend is pushing me to extend my time off through March 17 (a full month) as opposed to the 9th, before I go back to work since I'm a waitress and equestrian (literally the worst occupations for boob recovery! Haha!) and it's better to play it safe than risk messing anything up, especially considering how complex my surgery was.

POTENTIAL TMI: grandma, stop reading
I also resumed *cough* adult activities several days ago, and have been... continuing daily intimacy since. Not ashamed to say it, probably the hardest part for me was not getting to cuddle my man laying down with my head on his chest, leg draped over him, with my chest pressed against his side. That was hard. I really missed that. And... Other things ;) we've been taking it pretty easy though. Slowing things down from our usually preferred pace has actually been kind of nice. Although I'm over it now and want to get back to our slightly rougher selves ;) it's still really nice to be able to have our intimacy back. Even with the knockout bra joining us. Can't wait to be able to do it braless! Ok. Done sharing.
TMI OVER

When I first saw Dr. Kolker, I was a little concerned, too, as he said from my pictures he hadn't appreciated the severity of my pectus excavatum. D: But I'll be darned, he rose to the challenge eagerly and did an absolutely incredible job. So glad I trusted him completely and gave him full artistic liberty. I basically said "whatever you want to do that you think will give me the best results, go for it. I totally trust you." And I would highly encourage anyone else with any sort of complex case going to see him to say the same!

I'll keep you all posted! How are you guys healing? Any active-occupationers out there?

Much love,
SJ

So far Dr. Kolker has been wonderful! He's incredibly reassuring, and his office manager, Jillian is just lovely. She's on top of communication, helping with any question I've had! Will update.
