Accutane - Madison, WI

I've been on Accutane for 4 months now for the first month I was taking 40 milligrams and then I started on taking two 40 milligrams each day my 21st birthday was April 1st so I was drinking a lot that month and my liver enzymes spiked up to 85 instead of 30 my triglycerides have also been raising right now they are at 200 each month they slowly gained about ten so I started taking thistle milk and fish oil which are wonderful ideas to take when your on Accutane I just got my bloodwork done again in about a week ago and my liver went down to 28 and my triglycerides are stable so they don't need me to take any more blood test everything is going really well I would say the side effects initially were obviously dry lips dry skin headaches once in awhile I have Lymes Disease so it made my knees and my ankles hurt worse and keep in mind I'm only 21 I've kind of had mood changes I gained about 5 pounds sometimes I get ringing in the ears but that could be due to a concussion I had a while ago I also have psoriasis and my psoriasis has gotten a little bit worse and my scalp is very dry I started using Tea Tree by Paul Mitchell and lots of oils in my hair to avoid dryness and I sleep a lot I mean like the least 13 hours every day and I'm always tired all these side effects I dealt with and they have been worth it in my eyes I didn't have extremely severe acne but I had very persistent acne that I've dealt I've spent thousands of dollars on all kinds of products literally everything that you can think of and nothing has worked until Accutane Accutane can be very dangerous and you have to be aware of that but to me it's been worth it and it's been monitored so I say if you have an issue with acne when you've tried everything out there it's worth giving it a try you're monitored every month if you have any questions about anything you can always talk to your doctor right now I have no active acne I just have some hyperpigmentation and some scars I just hope that it doesn't come back when I stop the treatment with my doctor says more than likely it won't come back or if it does not even close to how bad it was I just wanted to let people know that there are options because when I was trying everything there was I had no idea about Accutane I didn't know that it would help I didn't know there was something like this and whether it was worth trying but now I realize that it acne has weighed on me all of my life I have psoriasis on my elbows but it doesn't affect me as much as having acne on my face that was because the first thing you see when talking to somebody is their face and you always look at that and looking at other people and seeing clear skin and just wishing that you had that was the worst it would be painful I get large lumps in weird places and I'm such a perfectionist that sometimes I just felt like ripping off my skin and I was so embarrassed but now it just I just feel normal and I'm thankful for that very thankful for my dr.
