I'm feeling quite well, although an inch or so in front of my ears and down that area of my neck are still stiff/numb. Lots of bumps and lumps going on, but that's pretty normal from what I hear. I am looking forward to the day that I see a final result without the remainder of the minor swelling - which tends to be more so on my right side than left.
I have been sleeping on my regular pillow for a few weeks now, and typically take Ibuprofen a few times a week when my face feels a bit sore at the end of the day. Normal routine, working out has resumed and I was able to run a 10k last weekend without any issues. At this point, my jawline isn't as defined as I had hoped, but I honestly think (hope) this is from the fact that I still have that swelling/stiffness at those points I spoke of earlier. Definitely some lumpiness under my chin where I had lipo, which isn't as flat and contoured as what the final result should be - again, just needing patience to be on my side here.

Day 11 post op
Posting some pics for the first time since surgery. As you can see, marionette lines are gone, and there is less jowling. Still a bit of swelling, which should last another 5 weeks or so.

Wow, so happy for you! I think it is a subtle yet significant improvement... i think you looked great before, but I also see how this keeps your youthfulness intact. Thanks also for your updates; I got a clear picture of how the process went for you. It will help me in the future.

You look beautiful. Glad you shared. Thinking about this procedure myself.

I am almost 71 and had a facelift at 59. I was very happy with the results. I had some long lasting numbness, but learned to live with that. My ears also bothered me a lot, I had to tell my hairdresser so she wouldn't dig her nails into that area, it was so sensitive. My surgeon told me to eat a quarter of a fresh pineapple every day to promote healing, I was amazed at how well it worked. I had very minimal bruising, I also had eyelid surgery, a week later you could not even tell it. I went to a local festival a week after surgery. My surgeon was so pleased with my results that he had other patients contact me that we apprehensive. I am thinking about a mini facelift now.

Saw the doc today and he says everything looks great! Says I did this at a good time, since it will hold up well due to my age and condition of my skin. So even though the improvements are subtle, albeit good, it'll continue to look good for a long time to come and I hopefully won't have to deal with jowls and marionette lines for a long time to come.
No more of the little bruising that there was remains, and the swelling isn't bad either. Nurse told me swelling should subside over the next 10 days, doc says the hardness near my ears and down my jaw is a good sign and will be better in 6 weeks or so. Not cleared to exercise yet - I was worried the jostling from running might loosen the internal stitches - but am told the restriction is to keep from additional swelling from an increased heart rate.
Went back to work yesterday and was self conscious bout the swelling but no one noticed. Did have a bit of a time 2 days ago when the post op depression hit hard and I did the ugly cry in a friends living room. That luckily only lasted 24 hours or so. This is why it's so important to have a good support system .
Still so pleased with results. A little concerned that my jaw is not as defined as I expected, and possible some minor jowls remain, but still no way to tell the final result for at least another 5 weeks or so. Thanks for all your questions and support. Yes, it's tight, numb, hard and tender to the touch, but definitely not painful since day 2. Only taking ibuprofen twice a day now.
