Buccal Fat Removal
After losing 40 lbs I noticed that lower half of my face remained heavy looking. After years of contemplating whether I’d ever indulge in cosmetic surgery, I decided that the procedure would be ideal for my goals: to remain looking like myself and boast my confidence. In all honesty, my chubby cheeks was an insecurity I could not shake off; I voided intimate partners and social events to avoid consuming alcohol and sodium since they made my cheeks swell even more. Now I can say thoughts of anxiet do not cloud my mind so much, and I still look true of myself but better enhanced.
I visited Dr Mesa at his NJ office as the procedure is cheaper there than in NY. He and his staff were such peaches. He answered all my thoughts and concerns; also educated me on the procedure so that I knew wha I was getting myself into. I went into the office insecure without makeup but Dr Mesa knew exactly what to say, and in a genuine way to keep me happy and comfortable in my skin. I also forgot to take my anxiety meds the day of but Dr Mesa and his staff were very attentive in aiding and comforting me when I started shaking due to nervousness. Overall, the procedure was actually pleasant. I felt happy about doing it for myself. Dr Mesa numbed my mouth with local anesthesia shots. They felt like slight pinches. I felt some pressure during the procedure and he numbed me some more if I expressed feeling extra pressure/any pain (which I don’t recall feeling tbh). He kept me well entertained too by conversing with me. The procedure was pretty quick and he had me up and out in minutes. The procedure actually is easier than a dental appointment. I did however lose a taste for bacon. The cauterization smelled like bacon.
The stitches in my mouth seemed to heal quick, and the pain wasn’t anything crazy. Tylenol helped. The swelling took 5 days to go down and the compression ice pack helped a lot. My jaw mobility was a bit funny during eating for a couple of weeks but I’m normal now. I got my procedure done about 8 weeks ago and am so happy with the results. I’m thinking about maybe getting cheek fillers though I might not exactly need them. Dr Mesa emphasized that he does not do this procedure on individuals who do require cheek fillers. However, something still seems as though they can be improved near the corners of my mouth. I still need to go back in for a follow up post surgery but so far Dr Mesa did helped me achieve my goals and provided a nice experience dong so.
