2mths & 3wks Update

$13,500
The FUT procedure is a journey that requires patience along with good after care practice. So far so good, I'm nearly 3mths post op and I'm now starting to see hair growth in the recipient area.

My FaceTime consultation was good he was informative and friendly. I was a little disturbed that I had to call the office several times before they mailed my presurgery package then the receptionist told me, she wasn't sure if they could mail it to me because I'm located outside the US. I told her that I live in the US Virgin Islands and it's a US territory. So finally they mailed it and I received my package.

Wow you're healing great!!! The swelling may get worse, putting something cold on the swelling REALLY helps! You're gonna look fantastic! Now starts the waiting game. I'm taking garlic to prevent excessive shedding/ shock loss. It's working wonders so far. How you feeling?
I'm honestly feeling good, with the exception of a slight tightness in the donor area from the sutures but nothing to complain about. I'm also drinking aloes juice to help with the healing process. Living in the Caribbean we have many natural plants and herbs at our fingertips.
I know what you mean. I'm on Day 5 and the tightness loosened up overnight seemingly. Now i just have pain in my temples where they stuck me. I have aloe vera, I'm gonna see if that helps me out

Thanks for the photo update -- you look to be healing really well!

Nikki - Congratulations!! - you did it and look to be healing very well!!! You are right - now the waiting begins - and it's no fun! But the end result is worth the journey
Congratulations to you. What a great gift for yourself!
I had mine done by dr Diep dec 1 glad to see a lot of others sharing their experiences!!
lacoya - congratulations!! Did you have FUE or FUT? How are things post op?
Thanks same to you! I had FUT. everything is great! I had no shedding my donor area healing nicely and I have noticeable growth! I researched the procedure for years! And had a consultation two years ago and always procrastinated because I was so afraid of the pain and healing process. Now that I finally went ahead and got it I wish I would have been went ahead with the procedure two years ago when I had my first consultation!

Be sure to share your experience as well lacoya9. ☺

So you had no shedding. Do you think something in your process prevented the shedding? I am hearing alot about garlic or rogaine. I am trying to get as much feedback as possible. I plan to have the surgery in June. Thanks for sharing and congratulations!
davonne44 I make and use garlic tea rinse and garlic oil as part of my routine hair care. I use the tea rinse after I shampoo and leave it on for ~15 minutes. I do a pre oil treatment with the garlic oil or leave it on a as an oil treatment for couple of hours after shampooing. I don't have any shedding issues. Like onions - garlic is an excellent source of sulfur. I prefer the garlic over the onion juice.
Thanks onyx54. Sorry for the late response- just saw this. Glad you are doing well in this journey.
did it hurt a lot?

I'm so glad that I found this forum. For years, I have been wearing wigs to hide my damaged hairline. It started back in the summer of 2011, when I decided to put braids in my hair as a quick alternative to give myself a break from the headaches of daily styling. My braids was stunning but it was also extremely tight. I keep the braids in for about 4 weeks and when I took it out my heart dropped. My hairline was gone with the wind ???? big chunks of hair was coming out with the braids.

After years of trying to regrow my hairline from using rogaine 5% to rubbing garlic and onion juice in hair, I even tried drinking cayenne pepper because its suppose to increase blood flow to your hair follicles to increase hair growth. None of the things mention above gave me back my hairline. So here I am now preparing to take the next big step to rid myself from wigs and weaves once and for all.

Hi there, I'm so glad that you found us as well --so sorry to hear that your braids caused you to loose your hairline, was all the damage caused just after 4 weeks of wearing them?

What method of hair transplant will you be having?

I thought you might find this helpful: Post Hair Transplant Survival Guide

I will be getting the FUT. Thanks for the post guide.
Please do post after pictures
I definitely will post after pics.
Are you getting the two step procedure with an expander?
Fixxmee, what do you mean by expander? If it means lowering my hairline then yes.
oh no. I thought you were having the surgical hairline lowering procedure (Reverse brow lift). I did not realize you were having transplants.
Congratulations nikki . I will be thinking about you on New Years Eve. What a great way to bring in the New Year (with edges :-) )
IIRC there are two other members scheduled for HT surgery around the same time as yours. Good Luck!
How may grafts are you having placed?
Thanks, I'm excited to start 2016 being wig-free lol. I'm getting 3,500 grafts.
could you tell me that how to overcome the hair fall problem.
Hi Nikki,

Are you having your procedure the 29th?
No, on the 30th.
