First off, sorry about my poor English. English is my 3rd language ;) It's been a little more than 4 months since I had this mixto laser done. Now I feel like that I can write a review - a review with actual result.

I have suffered with acne since I was a teenager and thought it would disappear when I became an adult…That never happened. (I still have occasional breakouts) I have big and small acne scars all over my face - Some box scars on both of my cheeks. Pinpoint -like tiny scars along with enlarged pores on my forehead. The scars that bother me the most are : a couple of HUGE ice pick & rolling acne scars on my NOSE.

Last summer, I decided to do something to my face. I never had any laser treatment - I was worried about getting hyperpigmentation. (My close friend got huge hyperpigmentations after having Fraxel laser.) But there were many people who have successfully fought their battle against acne scars with a help of Mixto lasers, so I decided to gave it a try.

I live in Northern Utah. It was hard to find a dermatologist who had experience with Asian patients around here. I did some web search and the search lead me to Dr. Rahimi. I picked him based on his very good reviews on realself and I can now add another one.

I emailed him my pictures. Dr. Rahimi emailed back to me within a couple of hours telling me that I could expect about 30-50% improvement with one Mixto laser. My parents live in Orange County, CA so I decided to stay there during my kids' summer vacation. I scheduled an appointment (June), flew to visit Dr. Rahimi in person before my Mixto treatment (April). Dr. Rahimi was so caring and his staffs were just amazingly helpful.

The surgery/treatment went well. Before I went to California I read as many reviews as I could so I was ready to deal with pain (the treatment itself wasn't that bad, though) and the not-so-pleasant downtime. In my case the redness lasted a little longer than average. It lasted almost 2 months, but it was OK because I could wear makeup :)

I was very worried about the redness - In my friend's case, the post-laser redness eventually became horrible hyperpigmentations. I emailed Dr. Rahimi several time after I came back to Utah. I emailed detailed pictures and asked questions. DR. Rahimi NEVER FAILED TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS. Just like the first time, his answer came to me within a couple of hours. He definitely cares for his patients.

About the results - I would say that I see 15-20% improvement overall. (Cheeks : 20-25% improvement, Nose : 5-10% improvement) It's a good improvement. And... What amazed me the most was the improvement on my skin tone. I noticed my brown sports from acne were almost gone! I had tiny brown spots on my cheeks and temples and they were 80% gone. My skin is firmer too. I really think Mixto laser is worth trying. A huge thank to Dr. Rahimi. I will definitely return to him in the future.
