Hi! My family and I naturally have no hair except for head...
It's kind of good because I never have to shave or wax, but I started to draw my eyebrows at middle school. After I came to the US, I've tattooed them twice but they faded away after few years also even with tattoo since there's no hair,it gets shiny. I would not go anywhere without drawing them and when I go in the water, they get erased. All these years I'd spent so much time drawing them daily sometimes few times a day. I hated my life, it's like drawing on the blank canvas...
This Korean girl I've worked with about 10 years ago told me she got her eyebrows transplanted, they looked nice and bushy. So couple of years ago, I started to research on eyebrow transplant, and I found Dr. Dauer, he was a lot pricier than other hair transplant clinics but I only wanted the best, so I finally decided to get it done by Dr. Dauer. At the consultation, he was very nice and friendly, I felt comfortable. On the surgery day, he helped me drawing my eyebrows, he did little bit thicker than I usually drew. The procedure took all day but didn't hurt at all, I kept falling asleep, he even fed me lunch.
The recovery process for me was very painful, some said they went to work in 3 days but there was no way that I was able to function, my eyes started to swell badly and bruised like I got hit by a car, my scalp was pounding for a long time, I took every OT painkillers plus Vicodin he prescribed. This is the part that they don't tell you... I couldn't sleep with my head down or face down so I had to put the side of my face on my hand then slept. I was very careful with my new transplanted eyebrows, but they did fall out little by little like he told me after several weeks. I knew they were gonna grow back (not all of them) but I tried putting Rogain every night, tried olive oil, coconut oil to help them grow back. They slowly came back after few months.
Now it's the maintenance time, I put super hard hair gel when I went out, they grew like hair on my head so I trimmed them daily (I still trim them couple of times a week)
I babied them, they were very high maintenance.
It's been almost a year and 2 months, I can go out in public without drawing them, I can go swimming or snowboarding without worrying about my eyebrows, it really changed my life and I love my eyebrows!! And I never have to shape them or wax them either!
Thank you Dr. Dauber.

Oh my gosh, amazing results, congrats!! Do you know how many grafts were placed to give you such a full and natural look?

Thank you! Supposedly 350 each eyebrow so 700 total were grafted but not every single follicle lived...

Hey they look great! Such an improvement. You said they're high maintenance, is it still a lot of trouble? Or was that just while they were growing out?

Thank you, I love them! They finally seemed to calm down, I don't use hair gel any more and stopped growing as fast, so now they are less maintenance. But it was all worth it!

"This is a known phenomenon called 'the recipient influence'.The hairs that are transferred get signals from the recipient site, telling them that this is an eyebrow and they must behave accordingly." Interesting

Hey i had the same issue, what i noticed that my hair follicles were not tapered. Do they get better with time?

I don't know what you mean by your follicles are not tapered... But my new eyebrows seemed softer now and grow slower, they did calm down...

Just wondering, do you have any tips for trimming them?

Thanks so much for your help. One question? Can you describe how your donating area looks? What procedure did they use? Thanks in advance for your time.

I used FUT follicular unit transplant which is to remove a strip of scalp from back of my head. When I went to get my hair done couple of months after my transplant, my hairdresser saw my donating area and asked me if I was stressed because it looked like I had a bald spot, but now all the hair grew back in the area and can't even find it. So it's not noticeable unless you have your hair shaved...
