I Wish I Had Done More Research and Chose a Different Surgeon..

Dr. Lee did do a fantastic job with symmetry and my scar is healing quite well, which are two very important aspects so I am grateful for his skills in those areas. Therefore, I would change my overall experience to a more precise rating of 3.5 stars.

I feel like my first and only in office consultation was very rushed (maybe 10 minutes max) and Dr. Lee did not really listen to what I wanted and based his surgery on what he has completed with other patients. I don't know if other doctors do this, but I didn't get to see any markings on my eyes before surgery so I was unable to see exactly what his plan was and to ensure that we were on the same page. This was a big mistake on my part! During my recovery, there was a lot of misinformation from the girls and nurses. I was informed about some de-swelling method weeks after my surgery even though I should have started the process much earlier. When I asked one of the nurses about the measurement of my crease height, since I read online that beyond a certain number was not recommended, the nurse stated that "they don't record that kind of information so she could not tell me." I highly doubt this is appropriate medical protocol. My crease is a lot higher then what I wanted so now my eyes look hallow and unnatural. Revision surgery is most likely going to be needed. Every patient's face is different so techniques should at least be somewhat personalized and I don't believe Dr. Lee was able to accomplish what I hoped for my double eyelid surgery.

My advice is to make sure that your consultation is thorough and request that you see the markings before any surgery is done!! Ensure that all your questions and concerns are heard and don't feel let anyone make you feel like you are wasting their time because you are spending a lot of money on something that will be permanent.
