Such a Good, Pleasant Experience!!

I never leave reviews but I really wanted to for VIP after my very pleasant experience and how lack of reviews can really sway some people's decision making process in today's world of the internet. So here I am, good deed for the day!

I had asian double eyelid surgery with Dr. Choi 6 days ago. Being the research queen that I am, I researched and narrowed down my search to my top 3 with some very well known doctors in the So Cal area. I emailed back and forth with a few clinics and decided to pay the consultation fee (which most clinics also charge, but credit towards your surgery if booked) and meet with Dr. Choi because I liked the photos of his past cases the MOST. Some doctors incisions looked too deep, or were uneven, or only had 1 style for every eye, etc. He was extremely knowledgeable. Encouraged and answered all questions and provided sound recommendations. After meeting with Dr. Choi, still fearful of all the risks associated with any surgery, I felt comfortable enough to take a leap of faith and pull the trigger on booking a surgery date. I trusted that with his experience of over 30 years, he must have seen and experienced all imaginable situations and cases possible.

Day of surgery: I tried my very best to remain calm and not let my nerves get me too anxious. When the receptionist said he's gotten EVEN better with time and that he can perform the sugery even with his eyes closed, it was very reassuring. I knew I made a good choice. I was prepped by the kind and helpful nurse for sugery and was walked over to the operating room. Entering the room, I realized that there was cheery, calm music playing (ex. Jason Mraz). I thought it was very interesting to hear music playing in an operating room as it was my 1st time but throughout the whole procedure, it really, really helped to provide a light and cheery atmosphere. It kind of felt like an artist calmly working away on his craft, really enjoying himself in his art studio. (Corny? Sorry.) I was injected with an IV prior to local anesthesia, hooked up to an EKG to monitor my status and felt extremely safe and calm throughout the whole procedure. There was NO pain during the procedure. I felt very relaxed and calm. It was such a good, pleasant experience!!

Post surgery: I was extremely swollen and bruised yet you can still tell that the crease was exactly what I asked for and planned and EVEN!

I am very hopeful and so excited for my final results. The whole surgery experience was so pleasant. All the staff are kind and caring. I would definitely recommend Dr. Choi to friends and family!!

A lot of the swelling has gone down, but still swollen (esp. in the mornings). Bruising almost completely gone, but discoloration of the eyelids still present. Post suture removal- my eyelids were folding above the crease at scar tissues, but both eyes were even. Now right eye is folding on crease, while only the left eye is still folding above the crease at scar tissue. Hopefully this will correct itself.
