Back to work: 10 days post op

I am back to work and glad to be out of the house. I am still healing up of course. I run my own business so it is vital that I get back to it. I am just taking tylenol every 4-6 hours. I am going to try and work about 5 hours and then head home.

1 week post op. I am thrilled.

It is one week post op for me and I am thrilled. First off, instead of a mini or modified tummy tuck. Dr. Mani felt a full would be the best result on surgery day. I told him I was fine with this as my goal is to look the best I can. The surgery went very well. Everyone at the surgery center was lovely and I felt very taken care of. The anesthesiologist Dr Silverstein was amazing. I was prescribed an anti nausea patch for the night before and I had no nausea after the procedure or the days after.

The first night was the hardest. I was in a lot of pain and couldn't't get comfortable at all. The Percocet took the edge off but. Ended up getting up and taking a bit more Tylenol which helped. I went to Dr. mani's office the next day and they prescribed Valium for night time which helped a ton. They also warned not to over do Tylenol as it can cause liver damage. So I listened. I stopped the Percocet during the day on day 3 and just took 500mg of Tylenol every 5 hours and I am managing fine.

Here is what I recommend in preparation if you are getting a full tummy tuck. Protein shakes. I bought a huge box of the single serving from Costco. I have finished hem and it's been a week. They don't have to be refrigerated so I kept a few by my bed. I got the muscle milk light. Cough drops. Coughing sucks.

I have been taking a hair, nail, skin multi vitamin, vitamin e, collagen and a tablespoon of L-Carnitine. I worked out with a trainer three times a week for a year before the surgery, but increased the intensity of my workouts the month before to make sure my arms, legs and back were strong. Not helped a ton this week as my balance and ability to move around was good. If you can.t afford. Trainer, go to circuit/strength training classes.

I'll update again in a week.

I am nervous, excited and hopeful. I hated my stomach when I didn't even have one...I wish I could go back and smack myself silly. I am 5'9" and weigh 148. I decided it was time to say good bye to my extra tummy love when my mom came to visit. She weighs about 135 and still has a large tummy. I decided to get some consultations thinking they would say go home, workout more (I workout with a trainer 3 times a week and do cardio 1-2 times a week) and eat chicken and spinach and we will see in 4 months. But, all of the three Dr.'s I saw said I needed muscle repair. 2 said I needed a full TT and 1 said a partial since I have no sagging skin. I decided to go with the mini tummy tuck with muscle repair and lipo. Wish me luck! I will post more photos as I am going under tomorrow!
