I have been getting juvederm for about a year and a half. My body consumes fillers voraciously, so fillers only last about a month! Can you say expensive!!? Anyway, I have been researching the permalip procedure for several months, and have interviewed a few PS's. I called Sergisil, the company who makes the implants, and they provided with the names of PS's in my area with the most experience. I have decided to go with Dr. Atagi. She has done the most in this area, and is highly respected. She recommended 5mm on top, and 4mm on bottom lip for me. I trust her judgement, but I'm still a little nervous. Anyway, I desire to have a softer look. My thin, down turned lips give the impression that I'm angry, unless I'm smiling. So here I go. I have been instructed to stay away from alcohol, and caffeine two weeks prior to the procedure. So, I'm getting drunk tonite, since tomorrow is the first day, of two weeks out! Just kidding. I don't like a "done" look, and am hopeful that people won't be able to figure out why I look better! Haha! Will keep up with updates during and after. I don't usually share private things like this, but I appreciate the people on this site who have shared. It helped me immensely! I'm paying it forward, and hope my experience can help someone else. I am posting my before, and after filler photos for those of you gifted with a full pout, so you can be appreciative of your blessing!

I am on a protocol of pills, and abstinence from caffeine, and alcohol for the last two weeks. The Dr has me on Celebrex, Valtrex, arnica, and a probiotic. Not to mention the myriad of other pills and potions to follow the procedure. Keeping it straight is good brain exercise. Anyway, I am both excited and frightened about the big day. I've seen video of the procedure, and it makes the hair on my neck stand up! All in the name of beauty! I will be taking pictures to share after it's finished. I've decided that I am going to do my hair so I won't look like a total [RS bleep] when I go in tomorrow sans make up! Small things can make a big difference! Ha!

The shots to numb were not as bad as expected. The pain meds wearing off is the worst! My teeth hurt. I had my iTunes all hooked up, and we were done pretty quickly. Ready for a big fat nap now.
