I broke my nose in high school and never had it fixed. Friends and family would comment that my nose looked fine, but functionally, I had a lot of breathing issues. Aesthetically, my nose curved slightly. Because it was short with a low bridge to begin with, I knew my nose looked much wider than it used to.
I debated for years whether or not to do anything about the situation. I don't take surgery lightly and was always concerned about a result that may look too artificial or not like me.
Then, I found Rajan Uppal. He had great reviews so after much research, I decided to set up a consultation. Although, I felt the consultation was a bit rushed, It was clear that he was quite friendly and knew what we has doing. He even gave the opportunity for me to ponder the discussion and come back for a second consultation, which helped me feel confident in my decision.
12 weeks later, I came back for surgery. The surgery was a closed procedure and took about an hour. I followed all the pre and post op instructions and am happy to report that I LOVE my results. My breathing is night and day. I think I even sound less nasally. Physically my nose is straighter, narrower, and the tip was slightly taken in to achieve harmony with the rest of the nose. Uppal likes to state that millimeters make a big difference and he was right. I am really happy, but even some family members can't notice a difference. Just that I look "great".
The toughest part for me was keeping a low profile for a week while the stint was on. However, had I not given my body the proper time to rest, I think my recovery would have been much slower. As mentioned I had a closed procedure, so no external stitches or nose packing to worry about. I was surprised how limited my swelling was. Although, I definitely had swelling.
7 weeks past surgery, and I feel and think I look great. Can't believe I waited this long to have the surgery. Wish I would have come across Rajan Uppal sooner.
