eight weeks, phew
now that I have stopped wearing the tape, and am just massaging the scars twice a day and wearing a new comfy bra, I feel great. the scars are still tight, and I am definitely still experiencing some swelling especially when I have been rushing around.

I made an appointment for breast reduction 15 years ago, and chickened out at the last minute. Encouraged by a friend who had had a good experience, I went to see her surgeon. I immediately liked him, booked a convenient date (4 clear weeks for recovery) and made a second appt to make sure he completely understood what I wanted. I think this was crucial to my results, with which I am THRILLED!
They are small, rounded and pass the pencil test! My only problem has been bruising on my right side, and hard patches of hematoma which are only slowly resolving. He has aspirated three times but I think the blood has hardened and the body has to eventually liquefy it. worth it though, a million times....

They look amazing!! :-)
Great to hear your story. I waited 30'years and am now 51. Mine was due to asymmetry. The left side is still slightly bigger and higher but I am only 11 days post op. I think I am still swollen. The right side was mostly just a lift. Not sure yet if I'm going to pass the pencil test! I haven't done that since college. I think I better hurry before they "settle in" :). I agree about the baby blues. I felt very depressed in general a few days ago. Also probably because of the upcoming holiday. Sad time for me because of some losses in my immediate family at this time of year. I feel very blessed to be able to have this surgery done. Merry Christmas.
One of my boobs is swollen more than the other. I hope that eventually it evens out with the other...it's 9 week post op.
I'm going to my 2nd post op tomorrow. I'll be curious what the PS says about my swelling. I didn't have drains. I wonder if I should have had one on the reduction side that is stil more swollen??
Beautiful result!!!! But what is "passing the pencil test"?
if you put a pencil under your breast it won't stay there, just drop to the ground...
Before my op i could have kept a whole pencil case of crayons under there!!

Ha Ha Ha I hear ya, I used to be able to put pencils under the boobs when they were huge!
LOL. SO FUNNY!!
Omg hilarious!! I could have kept my cell phone and car keys under mine pre op!! Hahahaha
I agree, it's never too late.
At 69, I have had a total of 2 kilos removed 5 days ago.
I was home for Christmas, still a bit sore, but no pain.
The itching under the strapping in annoying.
I first booked for this surgery in 1987 and cancelled because of work.........don't put it off!

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! I am 55 and scheduled for a BR on Jan. 20. Like you said, "never to late!"
