40 next year with 2 children
So....I thought it would be a good idea to review my surgery. I have found others so informative and wanted to do the same to help you decide whether its worth it and also so I can see how I progress.
I'm 39 year old female with 2 children and live just outside London. I used to be much slimmer but have found my late 30's very difficult to keep the weight off despite working out; I currently do: Pump, combat and Zumba every week as well as the gym and the odd swimming session. I have always been very active, I walk lots and am always busy doing something. I tend to eat fairly healthy.... well as healthy as I can, I havent got a sweet tooth so prefer savoury foods, I don't snack very often and tend to eat a healthy balanced diet full of whole grains, oats, chicken, Salmon and vegetables, fruit and the odd glass of red wine!!! However, the weight is not coming off no matter how much I work out so Vaser seems to be a very good option.
I went to see a surgeon at the Belvedere Clinic, I soon found out that this surgeon did a Tummy Tuck on Kerry Katona, and after seeing her looking absoutely amazing in a bikini on Loose Women I was pleased I was booked in to see Dr Joffily. During my consultation I explained to him that what I really wanted was a Mummy Makeover, consisting of breast reduction... I'm 34F and they are getting on my nerves, a full tummy tuck and lipo everywhere. After observing me, Dr Joffily said I would be a good candidate for Vaser Liposuction as it helps retract the skin, he also said at this particular time I do not have enough skin for a full tummy tuck however, it's worth doing Vaser first and then wait 6 months to see how my body changes. I have also opted for a breast reduction in early June as he advised to leave at least 3 months in between each procedure.
During that week I booked a consultation with Dr Joffily at his clinic at the Harley Health Village as that's where he performs Vaser (the Belvedere clinic don't do vaser). The consultation was free which was a bonus as some surgeons make you pay and then take it off when you pay for the procedure.
After seeing him at his clinic 2 weeks ago we agreed to go ahead and I'm booked in for 7.30am tomorrow! I had to do blood tests and mrsa swab which was £100. I'm going to be put under General Anesthetic. The operation itself should take 3 hours as I'm having, tummy, flanks, back, outer and inner thighs as well as knees done.
I have ordered my compression garments and my foam padding from Macom, they have been very helpful as I've had to order lots of different sizes (Medium is way too tight, large is also too tight so I have ordered an extra large and a extra extra large to arrive at Harley Health Village today ready for tomorrow.
Zaida, Dr Joffily's assistant has been very helpful and on hand to answer any question's I have had, she has also arranged for a therapist to do manual lymphatic drainage massages for the 10 days post op starting from day 2 post op, the first 3 will be manual and the rest will be assisted with ultrasound. These will be at my home so I won't have to worry about travelling anywhere whilst I feel uncomfortable.
I have also been advised that I need to wear my compression garment for 6 weeks 24 hours per day! I'm not allowed to shower for the first 3 days....and I'll be leaking fluid everywhere so I'm guessing my fiance is going to be quite shocked to say the least!!! I'm trying to prepare him for how dreadful I'm going to look in my all in one garment. Apparently, I'm going to leak fluid everywhere... so I havent bothered putting on new bedsheets, I've also brought a cheap mattress topper which is machine washable so I don't leak over my bed and can throw it in the wash as and when needed.
I'm taking arnica as I bruise so easily, I always take multivitamins (well women with omega oils) and I've brought bromelein and turmeric to help with the swelling and bruising afterwards. I've also got some collegen drinks you can get from Boots or Costco to help with my skin elasticity.
I'm praying this is all going to be worth it as I don't do well with pain and some people have suffered quite a lot from vaser, I'm really hoping I'm not one of them. Luckily, my mum and fiance are helping out so I hope I'm just left to recover in my own time....although the housework/washing/ironing and cooking will still me down to me.
I'll update some pics hopeful in the next couple of days..................I'm so excited but nervous at the same time!

hello, i am wanting both breast augmentation and vaser with dr joffily and have a second appointment booked with him for the end of the month. I am very much looking forward to hearing more about your journey and seeing some pictures. please do upload them.
Hi, did you have your vaser and BA surgery? I'm hoping to have the same with dr joffily. How did it go?
any new pictures?
I went to the same Clinic, how is your post op going? I’m only 10 days into mine.
yes, please a follow up! We are about the same phys type and i'm REALLY trying to get over the cold feet of whether i want surgery or just to try ONE MORE TIME to really get back to my serious gym routine... i am also VERY concerned about the downtime bc that keeps me from being in the gym to work on the parts i am NOT doing lipo on!
Hi, I'm going to do vaser lipo with dr Joffily, how are you feeling after almost 2 years? Thanks
