I won’t go into why I chose to have a r...
I feel like prior to surgery most other people couldn’t see why I wanted this done, and even I felt like I was right on the cusp of ‘needing’ it. But, given that it was something that bothered me several times a day, every single day of my life, I knew I was never going to let it go if I didn’t take the plunge.
I’m now 11 days post op and I can already confidently say the result I have now is worth the money I spent. The projection has been significantly reduced and Mr Lahoud managed to keep a nice shape to my nose. At the moment it is still very swollen but I was happy to go out in public as soon as my cast had been removed and it’s exciting to see it shrinking slightly every day as the swelling goes down.
I suppose one minor thing would be that I wish it was a fraction more upturned, as I’ve been told that the tip droops after swelling goes and I don’t really want that to happen, but at the moment I’m over the moon with it. I feel like this is the best result I could have hoped for and I’m grateful that the surgery and recovery has so far gone extremely smoothly.
Provider Review
His bedside manner isn’t great. Whenever I had to directly interact with him throughout this process I felt a bit uncomfortable. He’s a typical plastic surgeon in that he literally treats you like a body, and not a human being. There were times when he would talk about me to other members of his team as if I wasn’t in the room. This is particularly jarring when you’re nervously waiting to walk into the operating theatre. At every consultation I had with him he rushed through it. I had to interrupt him to ask questions and each time I did he made me feel like my questions were silly or unnecessary. He doesn’t exactly seem to respect the immensity of the decision you are making as a patient when choosing to undergo a life-changing elective surgery. I suppose I would put that down to just how confident he is that he will be able to improve your appearance. I had also heard multiple accounts of Mr Lahoud turning away patients that he didn’t think were good candidates for surgery. If your skin was too thick or he didn’t think he could make a difference, he would tell you. It also gave me a great deal of confidence that what he told me he would be doing to my nose was exactly what I knew that I wanted done, before I even said a word. I trusted his opinions and ultimately, I was pleased that I left it to him. If it wasn’t for the countless incredible before and afters I saw of his work I wouldn’t have gone with him on account of his attitude. Thankfully I could see past this and trust his professional opinion, because it was clear he was talking sense despite his abrupt manner. Regardless of how he speaks to you (or about you) he really does know what he’s talking about and I would definitely say that I felt in safe hands. I don’t think he could exude that level of confidence (dare I say arrogance?) without actually believing that he is a master craftsman. So yes, I’d highly recommend him based on his work. However, if it’s important to you to have a surgeon who makes you feel personally at ease, Pascal Lahoud is not the man for you.
