I can't quite believe it...I've managed to get through 14 days of being waited on hand and foot ! Two weeks on, I have removed the tapes and started using bio oil. There is a new sensation of freedom without the tapes over my incisions, and I'm so happy I can moisturise throughly. I'm still being careful lifting my arms and am resting a lot . Just listening to what my body tells me all the time .However, the most incredible thing I can tell you is that my back no longer hurts . My neck has a normal degree of movement and I couldn't be happier. Over 20 years of constant, debilitating pain vanished immediately after my reduction. I can't stress enough the difference this has made to me physically and emotionally. To anyone out there who is suffering unnecessarily with aches and pains and a whole host of other issues caused by big breasts .....please GET A REDUCTION , Just Do It !! You will feel rejuvenated, like a new person.
I will catch up again at 1 month post op. BFN x

1 month post op. Highs and lows

It's 4 weeks today since I had my breast reduction. This month has flown by so fast.
It's been a time for healing, getting back to work , dealing with set backs and overcoming them.
Going back to work after a 2 week break was hard for me. I felt so exhausted for the first week and almost took another week off. The scars are healing , however around week 2 I had yellow discharge in a few places . My PS advised me on keeping the areas clean and that this was quite normal. I've also had a little opening around the nipple over the last few days which has bled. Again I was told to expect this and I've covered the area with microporous tape when it's felt very sore. Scars look good especially the lollipop. Most of my stitches have dissolved and they tend to fall off when I shower or apply oil. The longer scars under my breast are still quite prominent but I can't really see those unless I lift the breasts up.
My biggest issue over the last 3 or weeks has been extremely dry and ridiculously itchy skin all over my body. My skin has peeled in places and no matter how much oil and E45 is used my body looked and felt so bad. The itching was especially bad at night which made getting a good nights sleep very hard. My PS - William Townley had advised me to stop taking cocodamol and to take Piriton which I did. But as the days went on the itching became worse. I saw my GP and she advised that we try a stronger antihistamine and some new creams. Fingers crossed, but this seems to be working and I've been a lot better. My GP said the cause of the itching was most likely a side effect of the meds I'd taken and had during surgery .
All in all at this stage I'm still feeling a bit sore under the breasts , reaching over my head with my right arm still feels like pulling but I feel stronger and more comfortable day by day. I am completely happy with the size of my breasts and now need to work on my tummy ....which is no longer hidden massive boobs ????
I'm looking forward to getting back to exercise in a few weeks. Good luck to anyone who is considering a breast reduction or getting ready for surgery. It's been a good journey so far and I've made lots of new friends who have this in common with me and it's lovely to be able to share things with other beautiful women who have had the courage and self belief to do this.
Lots of love xx
