Wife and Mother in my Early 60's.

It began with my neck. For the past five years I felt my neck was aging me beyond my years. My goal was not to look like a twenty year old, but to look the way I felt about the rest of me. I didn't want anything invasive. I thought this could be fixed with Botox injections, lasers, creams, etc. But it really did not make much of a difference. So, for five years I just accepted the fact that this is it, until a friend recommended Reflections. She was very happy with the doctor who performed her liposuction and she did her research! Based on her experience and results, I scheduled a consultation. Maybe Reflections had a solution for me. Very nice office and great staff. I met with Dr. Karolak, a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon, and the patient care coordinator. Lovely people and I immediately felt comfortable. After his examination of my neck, he said that in order to fix the neck, a lower face lift would be necessary. Talk about invasive! He was very thorough in his explanation of what he would do and what to expect, and I understood everything he said. It all made sense. I also thought I couldn't go through with it. He told me to think about it. No pressure. After five years, I just had to get the courage to fix this problem. So I decided - I could do this. I didn't go on the internet to look at pictures of what I would be going through. Why bother. I knew it wouldn't be pretty. I put my faith in Dr. Karolak's hands - literally. My husband and I looked at pictures of his patients - before and after and that sealed the deal. Naturally I was still nervous and on the day of the procedure I was scared, crying and thought I would back out. Dr. Karolak saw how upset I was and said if you don't want to do it, that's fine. But I knew at that moment it was now or never. I can tell you that the first few days of recovery are the hardest, but I had a great husband who was supportive and did whatever he could to help me. That was important. You will not be happy with how you look or feel for the first few days, but then everything starts to fall into place. You begin to look like you again, only more refreshed and without the crinkley neck. If you should decide to take the plunge, my advice is to ask questions and follow their directions for before and after prep. Dr. Karolak did an excellent job. I made the right decision and not sure I would have been as confident in the hands of someone else. When I look in the mirror now - no crinkley neck and a smooth jaw line.
